Flower design panels 12" x 12": My son requested a variety of acoustic panels for his dorm room wall. He says the walls are really thin and he wanted to be able to play his music or hang with his friends without worrying about receiving a noise complaint. He ordered seven different styles and made a really cool design covering the entire wall. He especially likes these panels because he and his friends have been coloring the flowers. He states that the acoustic panels have provided at least a 70% sound reduction! He says that he can blast music in his room and the second he goes out into the hallway and closes his door, the sound immediately drops to a near whisper. He is now more concerned about his neighbors above him! But it doesn’t seem to be a problem so perhaps the acoustic tiles on the wall are enough to absorb the sound because there have been no noise complaints yet and he certainly isn’t trying to be quiet any longer! When he opened these soundproof wall panels by Soundsbay, he stated that he didn’t find any noticeable smell like he thought he would. He says that these acoustic panels were very easy to install, just peel and stick. He found the adhesion to be good and strong, but was still able to remove and re-stick them to the wall when initially positioning them without any issues. He did want me to bring up the importance of having a razor if you plan to cut any of the tiles. He was able to use a steak knife, but the lines were not as smooth as they would have been if he had had a razor. That being said, he says that the acoustic tiles were still very easy to cut to different shapes and sizes, even if there weren’t any lines or creases. It was a bit pricey to buy enough tiles to cover the entire wall, but well worth it since they work so well! Update: He also ordered another Soundsbay pattern 'Leaves" that were 17" x 12". He found the adhesion with these to be extra strong, and did not try to remove and re-stick them to the wall while positioning. Of all the different tiles he got for his sound proof wall, these were his least favorite; mainly because they were so much more expensive than the others.

This is a twelve pack of tiles that deaden sound echoes in a space to improve sound listening quality. It's perfect for setting up a small home recording studio or for an audiophile listening room setup. While it would be tempting to try to use these to avoid sound from annoying neighbors or similar, that's not quite what they're designed for and I don't think they'd be effective enough at that purpose. The material here seems to be a very dense polyester fiber. I'm not sure how well they would react to cutting, as they seem to be a formed unit - the listing says not to cut them and I'm inclined to agree with that. If you do decide to attempt a cut, these seem like they're likely to fray, so wear good respiratory protection and do the cutting outdoors; I wouldn't recommend trimming them at all, though. These are thinner than traditional egg crates and are also less effective, but they're also a whole bunch more attractive. I think it's a good tradeoff for most people with casual needs.

These are perfect for setting up a space for the cello players in my home. They arrived clean, and in pristine condition. The tiles looked like white bricks, very nice. They were large and covered a lot of wall space. I would buy these again.

I ended up not installing these after comparing them with more traditional eggcrate/wedge foam panels. I compared these with my mediocre testing gear (and ears) and it seemed that the thicker foam panels did a better job. Your mileage may vary depending on need, but if you just want to deaden the sound in a large room or bring down the ringiness of a room with something that looks doesn't look like egg crates, than these should work just fine. I like the idea that you can also pain these to highlight the leaves, but thats not something I was needing in my personal space.
