Decently priced, nice size, good style, easy to operate, the sound is not tin like, it is as if the person or musician/s are in the room with you. Superior clarity, and I have not noticed any sound distortion when the volume is way up. This size takes up real estate in ones carry-on. However, there is a smaller version for when space is tight. It is rechargeable too, and having blue-tooth hooks up to T.V s with no sound bar, phones, and a host of options. This is a great speaker. Bluetooth connect works flawlessly. The sound is great, it puts out a very loud and clean output. I play it about 1/2 volume mostly. The eq is amazing and I haven't begun use the custom settings. It is water proof and it floats so even if I doubt I would use that, its a nice feature to have. The one thing I wish it had is longer battery life. 12 hours is good, but more would be better. If I wanted to use it at full volume it would likely get around 8 hours or less. The price was $80, but that is a closeout as this item is no longer made. Overall this is a great buy. ... show more

I would like to start by saying I'm not an audiophile. I'm an older person that thinks he's losing his hearing. I like music and podcasts. My genre of music ranges from classical to punk rock and everything in between. The only reference I have at this point is my JBL speaker with similar specs. When it comes to sound range, this product seems a little on the bass-y side which is my preference. I've used this product in my house and in my RV/Trailer with great sound and sound range. There are some limited on-device settings to change the audio, which works well. There is also an accompanying application that Soundcore provides that give you additional options. Indoor and outdoor sound quality are equally as good. Sound distortion is minimal and that's only if you max out the volume and the audio isn't encoded correctly, which I have not fully tested. If you have a good sound file, distortion will be nonexistent. Controls look a bit complicated, but are actually very easy to use. Build quality is seems robust, but I really like the feet on this product. It will stay where you put it as long as it's flat. I say this, because the form factor is narrow, so it fits just about anywhere, but if it's not level, it's likely to tip over. This is should not be an issue for most, but wanted to note this for anyone planning on utilizing this product outdoors. Overall, Soundcore is still relatively new compared to Bose, JBL, and the like in this product space. Soundcore gives us another option delivering a great sounding alternative. I love this thing. It is very powerful / loud for the size and cost. And it sounds good! Dead simple to pair with everything (except Windows 10, and that is a Windows 10 issue).

Every bit as good as our Sonos speaker, at a fraction of the price. I only keep it on at about level 2 of volume, and it's plenty loud enough. I listen to music outside so don't want to disturb neighbors. This speaker has great bass and clarity without having to jack up the volume. I can have it on at a non-distracting volume and still appreciate excellent sound quality. A perfect speaker for my needs. Adding this as well, as I'm so~~~ impressed. I just watched a movie outside on a projector with this speaker connected via Bluetooth. I honestly haven't been able to hear a movie this well in over a decade. For whatever reason, movies in "recent" years use such a range of volume that I'm either struggling to hear what the actors are saying or frantically trying to turn down the volume during an action scene. Consequently, I usually watch with the captions on. I had the volume on this speaker so low that you could hardly hear it 20' away, and yet every spoken word was perfectly clear! The reason I purchased this X500 is because it has the Bluetooth codec LDAC. This is for HiRes Bluetooth. This is my new travel speaker. I use this speaker with my Samsung S25+. The sound is great! The difference when using LDAC with HiRes audio is incredible. LDAC is much better than AptX HD or any other Bluetooth transmission. If you have an iPhone, it doesn't have LDAC capability. Also, I have a X600 for use around the house when not using our home audio system. The X600 was a little too big for traveling so tried the X500. It looks like this product is being phased out.
