  • So well balanced
Color: Black
Writing this in case in hopes that it will help someone in a similar situation to mine... I bought and returned another speaker (a UE Wonderboom 3) that was recommended by multiple buyer's guides because the bass was disproportionately strong and not adjustable. I listen to podcasts and music at relatively low volume while working from home and was looking for something that would sound better than my desktop's built-in speakers and could move with me to different parts of the house. I can imagine that if you like loud music, amped-up bass is probably a draw. But for me it was really distracting, especially when listening to a speaker with a low voice. In comparison, this speaker has a much smoother, more well-integrated sound, AND the accompanying app allows you to customize your options if the default EQ isn't quite right. I've tried listening to podcasts, pop, jazz, and classical, and everything sounds great to me. I'm keeping it. I agree with several points I've seen in other reviews: • Yes, it feels solid and well-made (read: heavy). I don't think I would want to carry it around on a hike. But it also feels like it wouldn't be easy to knock over, and it's made so you can lay it flat on its back for even more security. • Yes, stereo sound makes a big difference. Music sounds more multidimensional than on the other speaker I tried, and I can distinguish different instruments more clearly. • Yes, it seems to be better than at least one more expensive alternative! I can only assume that since this is such a new product, it hasn't been (dis)covered by the review sites yet. But I'm really glad I took the risk. Hope this is helpful to others! ... show more

  • Crisp, Clean and Clear. Mid Bass, Not Obnoxious
Color: Black
I got this speaker in preview and have had a chance to test it out. I am happy with the fidelity and Crisp clear sound. Battery life seems great. Its not a big device hence it's not a Bass Boss, but I was also told that it's not Obnoxious because of this, and all around listened and enjoyed it and did not complain. I wouldn't say this is the best speaker for Hip Hop, but for highs and mids and small lows it is great. The music sound is great in my opinion, it's main feat is portability and battery life. I would say this is great for the bar, golf course or swimming pool and even camping. The only complaint, which is not even a complaint but maybe a wish, is that I cannot charge my phone off of it. It would be nice if traveling to use it as a battery bank if need be, given Anker is the Daddy of soundcore that's seems possible. But otherwise I can't recommend it enough to anyone that would like a high quality compact speaker for on the go o even around the house. If you want more mega bass, I would suggest soundcores other larger offerings. The 3d audio definitely has something going on. In my group of people I demoed for, we all thought best sound to was achieved in the flat up firing position. Look out AMI Juke box, I think we all saved money when I brought it in the bar to play songs. I have a recommendation from two bartenders that told me it was nice and wasn't so booming that it was a cop caller, but sounds great. I even had someone tell me they didn't even know the sound was coming from the soundcore, they thought it would as the Juke Box. My ratings, sound quality 10/10, Bass 5/10, portability 8/10, and ease of use 10/10, feel of quality 10/10, battery 10/10, 3d audio 8/10, weight 7/10. ... show more

  • It is what I hoped it would be (but also one thing I feared).
Color: Black
I've had this Soundcore Motion 300 Bluetooth speaker for five days. It is sturdy, I think it has the best sound I have experienced for its size, it has a nice Android companion app, amazingly simple Bluetooth set up. I love Anker products and own many, mostly batteries, but also one pair of their lesser-expensive earbuds, and I love them too. While I think this is a five star product I feared a problem: vibrating because it's weight would be overwhelmed on high-volume. Indeed this happens and it makes it sound like the distortion you get when you have the volume too loud and it "clips" the bass. This happens most when it is laying on its back, and a little bit too when standing. It does not happen at all when dangling from its included strap (which lucky for me is my use case, cranking it up in the shower, dangling from a towel rack). Next gripe, there is no user manual. It appears they simply don't have one available upon release. It seems that if you read the manual for the 600 speaker it's similar enough, or at least it was for me. The android app is intuitive enough to figure out most things. But I think there's some on-speaker physical functionality that is not explained any place I can find (like how does the rudimentary low-battery level indicator work, I hear rumors that you can tether two speakers, how?). I also would like specs, especially the battery capacity (mAh), and can you listen while you charge? I tested this myself and here are the answers: - Battery capacity per my test is 5047mAh; 25579mWh; - Charge to 50% takes about one hour, to 100% takes three hours. - Can you charge and play at the same time: yes. Playing on full volume, it charged from 0 to 70% in three hours. ... show more

  • Very impressed with product and support!
Color: Black
I have just about every Anker speaker that ever came out. I’m slightly addicted. Preordered this one and was very very excited. Lately, my go to has been a same sized Bose Soundlink as side by side compared to some of the Ankers, the Bose sound quality was the clear winner out of the box. However Soundcore (Anker) support reached out to me and provided some tips and tricks to improve sound quality. I manually set the EQ to more of my liking and it became great. Bass definitely wins on the Soundcore. Build quality feels way more robust than the Bose. I also like that the charge port has a cover on the Soundcore as I am paranoid what salt water could do to the exposed port on the Bose. Soundcore is also a tad louder. You’ll be happy very happy with this speaker I also found out from support that this does not include PartyCast but does have a different "TWS" True Wireless Stereo and will connect to another Motion 300. So if you want a large sound stage, grab two and they will indeed connect to each other! I am very impressed by Anker/Soundcore support! ... show more
