  • Really good sound and well built comfort for a modest price. SIX Headsets COMPARED
Color: Black
Comparison of 6 Headphones of similar price & features I've tested a bunch of headphones in the $40-60 range so I may come back to this review with others in mind. My objective was to find a really strong audio performance for music, so I did not evaluate Noise Cancelling (did try it but didn't test it comparatively and it seemed to work OK on all of them) or use the mike. All of these can be used with a phone and can answer calls, again not a feature tested. I tested each with a specific playlist that included variations in dynamics, bass and treble emphasis including songs with substantial changes and mixes, and different genre including pop, rock, prog rock, and acapella. I used a Macbook Pro laptop and iTunes, I experimented with different Equalizer settings to get the best sound with each headset. Soundcore Q20 – $59.99* Ultimately these are the headphones I decided to stick with.and gave them 5 stars for sound in the price category. Most comfortable, seems to be the better made, bass not as boomy as on the NC35 good fidelity. I used my equalizer to tone the bass down and liked these a lot; for those wanting to go the other way they do have a bass boost that was nice in the right places. I wanted to like them better than the Monoprice set but honestly the Monoprice is so close it's very subjective. I liked the heavier feel and better fit, the sound once I equalized it was really good. However I notice in addition that these have the best Bluetooth performance of the bunch; I can be as much as ten feet farther from my laptop and still have good sound, whereas the others would be breaking up or offering no sound. So in a close competition the slightly higher price didn't really matter and the solid feel and comfort did, the sound was the best in the group though the Monoprice and the Vankyo were very competitive. Cowin E-7 $49.99* Comfortable and interesting control setup. But I could not get them to enter the pairing mode and the instructions were very unhelpful. I tried them corded to the computer and was not impressed with the sound. Overall it was muddy at every frequency. The bass was strong but not distinct. Eventually they did enter pairing and the sound was no better. I would not buy these even if I had been able to pair them at first. UPDATE: Their customer service has reached out to me more than once to offer me a better product at no added cost and suggest that perhaps this headset was defective. Since I am settled on what i have I've declined but they do have good customer service. Srhythm NC25 headphones $38.29* The bass was overdone and overtopped the treble and mids; rendered a bit of a muddy sound. Not bad really but I would suggest you can do better for the money. See Monoprice BT-300 and Vankyo C-750. Srhythm NC35 headphones $46.49* Clear, really good sense of position for every instrument and voice, good battery. I bought these right after buying the earlier/lower line Srhythm NC25 headphones. Compared to those these feel and look about the same but sound noticeably better. Understand I like a strong bass but the NC25 boomed enough to drown out some of the other sounds especially the treble. Overall they gave a muddy sound to a lot of music. By contrast while that can happen any well-produced track has far less booming and just a good base, and the amount of L-R separation, the precision with which sound location varies on these is really quite excellent. Monoprice BT-300ANC – $39.99* I tried these as Consumer Reports rate them a best buy. Not as comfortable or as solid feeling as the Soundcore but not bad. Less effective ear seal. Very good treble response and generally pretty well balanced sound. If you want booming bass this not your choice, but if you are looking for “fidelity” and balance these are pretty good. However the battery is 300 mah and the manual says 17 hours operation, the shortest of any in the group. Tempting at the price; a good buy for the money. If you are looking for low cost headphones these are worth your consideration as the sound rises above the price. Vankyo C-750 $44.99* in silver, 25% discount mades these very attractive option! They are very comfortable and noticeably lighter than the Soundcore. BT range typical for the group. Sound is good, not superb. 40 Hr claimed charge. I would say I was torn between these and the Soundcore, they have a nice bright sound and did fine with bass. I suspect I could equalize to get close to the sound the Soundcore produced but in the end I felt the Soundcore was just a little better and the $15 lower price just isn't enough to make me switch. *Prices shown are the actual cost at Amazon including coupon discounts but excluding tax; all got free Prime shipping. ... show more

  • LED Indication InOp; NC subpar; Sound Very Good; Comfort Good
Color: Silver
[Updated review; added a star after working with seller and receiving the Q30 as replacement} Q20 LED issue still works as described; seller states that the manual needs updating to reflect actual LED operations. LED operation is minor; expect most folks to be able to know when they have headphones connected and operating. [note: Q30 LED also does not operate as manual states, but LED does indicate connected when operating.] Q20 NC is still subpar; Q30 NC is very good with several modes. [Note: Q30 requires phone app to access all the modes and change modes; no Windows app to access Q30 NC and Equalizer modes.] Q20 and Q30 both have excellent sound and comfort. Both connected and reconnected easily (note some computer hardware/software may have minor connection issues) Sound tested with YouTube headphone test videos and several music genres. My primary use with headphones is computer Windows, including on planes. So connectivity and access to features with Windows is prime for me. So Q30 features not accessible via Windows limits full feature; but if NC is in plane mode and default equalizer is all I need. --- --- 2 sets. Worked with Manufacturer. Manufacturer states at full charge a steady blue LED. Neither set worked that way. Red LED during charging, no LED at full charge and still plugged in. When connected no LED indication (usually slow blink); Manufacturer said it should slow blink. NC was weird. Heard no difference in sound quality (no compression) when NC on but it definitely limited the low frequencies. But noticed that the volume went up by 1/4 to 1/3. So some of the NC was gained by increasing volume. Other sets NC volume was the same NC on/off but the low aircraft type frequencies cancelled. Would say less NC then other headphones in this price range. Now the good: Sound quality very good. Tested on several music genres and sci-fi movies. The ambient space noise/sound was very good and put you in the scene. My old ears clearly heard 25Hz to 15KHz with YouTube test videos and passed all the tests of several test videos used. They felt very comfortable with my old guy glasses and would be able to wear them all day with the usual breaks every 60-90 minutes for a minute or two. Was close to keeping them due to sound quality and comfort. Decided no go due to the LED issue and subpar NC. They were aimed for my travels on airplanes and in noisy environment on the road. LED issue may cause battery to be left on since there is no indication of 'on' when connected. NC is main feature of travel headphones. The manufacturer and I traded many emails on LED and other connectivity issues. They were 'iffy' connecting to main computer, but no issues on the travel laptop. [note: many other headphone reviews mentioned connectivity non uniform across all computers, so more of a computer hardware/software issue in my opinion] So both the original set and 2nd set going back. Others may find the mentioned issues less important. ... show more

Loved the quality, battery and sound cancellation. My family doesn’t really like how well they cancel noise , they talk but I can’t hear!! 🤣honestly, they are amazing and I have been super surprised by their battery life. Very time I wear them lately for a couple of hours, I shut them down and try them later and they still have tons of battery life to the . So much more battery than the AirPods I wear to run in. ... show more

  • Amazingly high quality for the price
I heard little details of the music I listed to that I never knew existed before. They're comfortable and the battery lasts a long time. I'm sure you can spend a lot more and get a better set of headphones, but for the money these are amazing. I am not sure I am discriminating enough to hear the difference between these and a pair of $200 headphones. ... show more

  • Good Headset
Color: Silver
This headset has been a surprise for me! I feel that it has good sound with some deeper sounds coming through and good noise cancellation. I have not worn this out in public to test various noises, however. The one thing I don't like is that I wear glasses so the headset pushes on them a little. For the price, I would recommend. ... show more

  • Good sound quality and noise cancellation, comfortable.
Color: Silver
October 2020: I bought it for my meetings from home office and the sound quality and noice cancel it's really good and people hear me very good. It's a really good headphone. June 2022: Everything in sound quality keeps Ok! But, for the last months the earpads have been damaged which aesthetically looks ugly. I've been searching for replacements but haven't found of this color. So, what should I do? That's why I don't have it 5stars ... show more
