    • The secondary Comfort air pump is great - sets it apart from other mattresses

This mattress inflates easily, stays inflated and is very comfortable. The best part is the secondary Comfort air pump which senses when the mattress needs some air and automatically adds some air to top off the mattress, resulting in it staying nicely firm and inflated. The company has great customer service and will work with you for any problems. My first mattress was great and the Comfort air pump worked perfectly in automatically topping off the mattress when it needed it...but then the pump just stopped kicking in. The red light would sometimes faintly flicker and there was sometimes a faint sound but it would not add air, the pump was just dead. So had to manually add air, and then would wake up in the middle of the night on a sagging mattress and have to again manually inflate it/add air which you shouldn't have to do (waking up to do that was a true hassle and worse yet couldn't get back to sleep!). So they sent me a replacement (I discarded the nonworking original). Unfortunately the replacement mattress had an overwhelming plastic smell that did Not dissipate with time despite airing it out for weeks. Called them about the persistent smell and they sent another replacement mattress, which we really appreciate. Despite a few hiccups it's still the best air mattress I've ever had and the secondary Comfort air pump is the bomb, for keeping it inflated. They really want you to be happy with your mattress and they honor their warranty/guarantee. Great company and great customer service! ... show more

    • Amazing customer service, unique firmness feature

As a few of the other reviewers, I too had an issue with my queen size mattress. In my case, the secondary pump was making a loud squealing sound, despite the primary pump working just fine and the bed holding air decently well. I knew from my previous purchase that the firmness pump should be nearly silent so I decided to call customer service at the company directly. I spoke to a very pleasant woman named Casey who was able to help me out. I purchased the bed for a road trip and going through the normal Amazon return process would not work. She was very understanding and made an exception to their normal policy to get me squared away. I appreciate the great customer support and understanding, while also looking forward to a great air mattress. My previous experience with this model of mattress allows me to comment on some of the features. The secondary pump, which maintains the level of firmness should not run 24/7, and it should be nearly silent. Perhaps a low rumble when sleeping. I found it to be rather soothing, but if someone was an extremely light sleeper they might need a disable this feature. That being said it has a really good job keeping the mattress pressure exactly where you want it. Overall the mattress is very comfortable and if you want that firm support you can definitely get it to the point where it's uncomfortably firm. Luckily it just takes a twist to the dial and you can bring it down to whatever you enjoy. I must admit that the mattress is quite expensive, but at the same time it's well made, and the customer service is rock solid. The latter has a lot of intrinsic value right off the bat. I bought this mattress in July 2023, for occasional use (e.g., 1-6 nights at a time, a few times a year). All was well for the first three uses (the mattress was comfortable and easy to use). However, in November 2023, the mattress suddenly no longer stayed fully inflated (top-up motor ran constantly, but it would still sag). I downloaded troubleshooting instructions from the MFR website. Hunting for leaks with a spray bottle of soapy water worked well, but repair measures worked less well (I sealed leaks around the motor housing with Loctite vinyl glue, then patched a leak at the foot of the mattress using the patch material included, followed by another, larger vinyl patch from Gear Aid. I then wrote to the company asking for further repair advice and recommendations. To my great surprise, the next business day brought two things to my email inbox: (1) a UPS shipping notification; (2) a message from the company, explaining they were sending me a replacement! What a wonderful outcome. The replacement mattress is working just fine, and its prompt arrival meant for a comfortable family Christmas. Given such a responsive outcome, I would highly recommend this company's products! ... show more

    • Good for an air mattress

Follow-up to May update: I notified SoundAsleep about the leaky seal above the pump and they replied the same day, even though it was the weekend. The company sent out a new air mattress without us having to do anything on our end. We received it the following week. I appreciate their customer service and quick response. We find the air mattress to be comfortable with a 2" foam topper on top of it. May 2019 Update: Bought the air mattress less then a year ago (8 months ago) and sleep on it occasionally when visiting family (Maybe 8 times). Today the seal on top of the automatic pump started leaking steadily. Very inconvenient since we are using it. Paid $199.95 - should not fail so quickly! How do I repair it?? September 2018 We’ve only had the air mattress for a couple of weeks and have slept on it one of the weeks while visiting family, but it does seem to be sturdy and durable. However, sleeping on it is not like sleeping on a regular mattress. Even when the mattress is filled on the soft setting, the top surface feels hard and does not contour to your body (side sleepers). Before we sleep on it again, we will try a foam cushion on top and a mattress cover (definitely needs a mattress cover since a sheet alone is not enough to sheild from the plastic feel underneath). The matress is convenient, fills and deflates quick enough and the motor that keeps the mattress refilled through the night is very quiet. This air mattress is not a bad product, it’s just not more comfortable than other air mattresses (we’d had several) and I believe needs some modifications to make for a comfortable sleep (listed above). ... show more
