After using the unit for 3 months, I thoughtr I would provide a review. This unit is a really good value for the price. I really wanted something that had wireless carplay and this fit the bill perfectly. The car I put it in is older and I didn't want to invest. a bunch of money. This unit has worked really well. The unit boots up quickly and wirelessly connects to my phone fairly fast. I haven't had a single issue with carplay once connected. it works exactly as expected. Apple maps, Spotify, calling, and messages all work just like the brand new head unit in my other car. With that said, if you are buying this head unit for the tuner, you may be disappointed. The reception is very poor. and is almost unusable except for stations with a very strong signal. The sound quality is good considering the price of this unit. It is louder than I need. The touch screen is responsive. The only issue is with the mute button in the bottom left corner - sometimes it is hard to hit it just right so that the sound turns off. Because I use Carplay 99% of the time, i have only done limited testing of the built in bluetooth functions, but they seem to work well. I have also tested Android Auto and have found the experience to be very good. In summary, if you are primarily using this head unit for Carplay / Android Auto, this is a good option. ... show more

For the price, you can’t beat it. Couldn’t find the right wiring harness, so I hard wired it. Had to buy double din bracket to fit my wrangler. Works great. It IS wireless with the option of having a charging cable attached. Whoever said it isn’t wireless, didnt read the directions in the packet or on the screen. Music plays nicely through speakers. Only thing is, Apple Maps and Waze do freeze on the screen. But I found leaving my iPhone unlocked or opening the app on my phone will unfreeze it. Annoying, but not the end of the world. Overall, if you’re on a budget and $1000 radio isn’t in it, this radio does nicely. I like it a lot. ... show more

All 4 Boss/Soundstorm wireless Apple Carplay units have a known default volume problem
Style: 6.75 inch Wireless
When the unit is first turned on, the volume defaults to a level 10, which is blasting! Requires you to immediately reduce the volume to a comfortable level. Then after it's turned on, the first time you use any nav app (Google maps, Waze etc.), when the first audio direction is given, it is blasting and requires you to reduce the volume for that app. Plus when the nav app sends the audio direction, instead of muting the radio (if you're listening to the radio) the volume on the radio INCREASES like it is trying to override the nav direction audio. Very annoying. Then the first time you make a hands free call, the audio is also blasting and again requires you to reduce the volume to a comfortable level just for the phone call. So no matter what app is used that produces audio over the cars speakers, the first time that app is used, the volume is blasting (every app volume defaults to 10). Turn the car off and then back on the volume problem starts all over again. Tech support is aware of it, but their development team hasn't come up with a solution yet. And so far they have no idea when there may be a fix for this inherent volume problem. As soon as I find a suitable replacement DDIN unit, this one is gone. No, I would not recommend this unit. BTW, the tech support folks are great! I only wish their product(s) was as good as they are. ... show more

Simple and has it all!

For the price, you can’t go wrong with this device. It’s been a week+ so far for me and I got no problems. The simplicity and how fast it boots up is incredible, it’s all I could ask for. Plus! Wireless apple car play! External mic is good and calls are great! I am glad I found this product before I had went to buy something like a pioneer or even the BOSS version of this product (bit expensive)... >_> Super satisfied I cannot lie. I recommend this to anybody looking for a new touchscreen, Bluetooth radio; worth the money! ... show more

Coming up on 2 years this unit has worked great. Wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay lets me use my navigation while my daughter streams her music simultaneously. It is not flashy by any means but has the right stuff where necessary such as adjustable starting volumes for radio, voice and etc (One of the 1 star reviews must have missed this as it was their chief complaint). 5 volt low voltage pre-out on the subwoofer low blows many more expensive competitors that are twice the price out of the water. I really wanted a pioneer, but they were all sold out. I kept researching for something similar with a wifi connection vs a hard wire from my phone. This meets and exceeds all that I was looking for. I have had this for 2 months now and the clarity and sound are great, along with the auto android connect - very seamless and quick. Very easy to install and absolutely LOVE that it is a TRULY wireless connection for my Andriod Auto. Has the capability to use a wired connection but I gladly went with the wireless option. Would definitely buy again for another car hands down!
