Tune into your favorite AM/FM radio stations or plug into the USB port for more music choices. You can charge compatible devices with the USB port. Bluetooth technology lets you play and control music apps and make calls hands-free Get real-time alerts on Google Maps and Waze. Make calls, check your messages, reply, and use your favorite music apps, all while keeping your hands on the steering wheel. Bluetooth enabled for wireless hands-free calling and speaker listening when paired with a smartphone. Wirelessly stream audio via Bluetooth from compatible devices so you can listen to streaming music services such as Spotify and Pandora through your system. Supports USB flash drive files up to 32 GB for music playback on units without monitors and music, photo and video playback on units with monitors. Control this unit using the vehicle's existing steering wheel control buttons. An additional interface (sold separately) is required. We recommend the Metra ASWC. This unit's Pre-Amp outputs let you expand your system by adding up to 2 amps and/or signal processors. This is the first time I've strayed from higher priced brands we all know. I can't say enough how impressed I am with this unit. I mainly wanted to add Apple CarPlay functionality but also wanted to upgrade the Subaru WRX STI stock stereo - which is lacking. I went with this unit after researching available options. You really get a ton of features without breaking the bank. The install was fairly easy and the upgrade is overwhelmingly noticeable. I love having CarPlay and everything else, like backup camera, working seamlessly. The Subaru was a pain given their funky wiring and lack of wiring diagrams but I was able to get everything working. The video quality is impressive - even my backup camera looks better than on my stock head unit. I love the EQ and features. The supplied microphone also sounds great compared to the Subaru Bluetooth connection. People can't even tell I'm driving so that's impressive. Easy to ground the parking brake wire to watch video at any time but do not ground to the unit or it will trip the camera sensor and boot up to a no video signal error. I ended-up calling support for help with this error and they couldn't figure it out. They were good about offering to exchange mine. They're based on the US (huge deal to me) and were easy to reach by phone and email. I don't miss DVD or CD players and can easily connect a flash drive with music, pictures and movies. Spotify streams beautifully as does Amazon. Loved it so much I've bought additional units to upgrade other cars. I haven't had any problems with mine so I'm confused by other reviews. There is no volume knob as one review stated so I wonder if those are for another product. This has been solid and should anything negative happen I'll update my review. ... show more

I installed this radio on my 03 Highlander with formerly JBL tuning. After a few hustles it was great. Radio looks beautiful and stylish. Just the right size for the car. I bypassed the JBL amplifier and used the radio's inbuilt amp. The sound is loud enough and tuning is flawless. Everything works well. My disappointment was with the digital signal processing of music, the radio on it's own doesn't sound deep enough , the quality of sound is basic to me, even the equalizers couldn't really do so much till I used an enhanced stream from the phone using my jetAudio plus sound adjustment then all went perfectly well. The Bluetooth sometimes gets buggy. I noticed this when I paused music to take calls with my earbuds and on return the radio was frozen. Had to restart the car this waking up the radio. Would I recommend Thai radio? ABSOLUTELY. it's a fine piece of gear, thank you Sound storm labs. We shall appreciate a software update perhaps . ... show more

With only a few reviews on this unit I decided to roll the dice and order it. The screen looks great and the install was super easy. Sounds way better than the old single din unit it replaced. I wish it had more sound settings but the adjustable EQ and balance/fade settings do a decent job. I’ve actually had to replace a couple speakers because the head unit was sending them more power than the old one and they weren’t sounding too great because of it. They were 20 year old stock speakers anyway. Now I have great sound and a beautiful head unit. Get this SSL head unit, it’s great and works very well. ... show more

Nice unit for the price. Apple car play works great. I like the main menu GUI, easy to watch up to 2 cameras - 2nd camera must be enabled in settings. Sound is good - it was an easy installation.

I bought this head unit a couple of years ago and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The screen is still bright and vibrant, still sounds good. I really like how easy it is to use, not as overblown and confusing as some units. Overall, I like it and would recommend it.

While I like the smooth touchscreen capabilities, the head unit OS is disappointing. Here are the few issues I had with the unit. 1. Apple car play would randomly stop working. 2. Only google maps will work. Other navigation apps will bug out. 3. Head unit will reboot while in operation. 4. Not able to control the illumination option. - only daytime lighting works. 5. Head unit does not output enough voltage on the remote turn on wires. Have to use a relay to boost the signal. 6. Backup camera video is not clear due to the screen display resolution. 7. While using hands free you cannot access any other features on the unit. Pro’s. 1. Smaller chassis than normal double din head units. 2. Touchscreen is very responsive. 3. Call quality is great. Great stereo for the money. Touch controls are quite responsive and quality feels great. The side buttons for volume and such can be a bit hard to touch while driving due to their small size, but it’s not that big of an issue. The only thing I wish it came with was the micro adapter for cars that don’t have a standard plug for the radio antenna. But that was a $10 fix at autozone.
