GEEETECH Filament Review Overview In the past, I’ve printed with Geeetech’s metallic pink and metallic blue filaments—both performed excellently and left a great impression. This tri-color silk PLA didn’t disappoint either; it continued that streak with ease. This review covers Geeetech Silk PLA Tri Color Filament (1.75 mm)—a coextruded blend of blue, purple, and black with a metal-like shimmer. I printed all test models on a Creality Ender 3 Pro, using settings that represent what most users might try out of the box, with only basic tuning. All prints were done straight from the spool with no drying. Test Setup • Printer: Creality Ender 3 Pro • Nozzle: 0.4 mm • Slicer: Cura 5.10.1 • Layer Height: 0.20 mm • Infill: 20% • Bridging Enabled: Yes • Bed Surface: Longer textured glass plate • Ambient Conditions: Approx. 24 °C, ~65% RH • Print Time: Approx. 2 hours Print Results Metric Observation Dimensional Accuracy Cube: X 20.15 mm, Y 20.12 mm, Z 19.92 mm. Cylinder: Ø 19.95 mm, Height 19.75 mm. Excellent tolerances for standard calibration pieces. Layer Adhesion Strong; models held up well under light flex and handling with no signs of delamination. Surface Finish Smooth satin sheen with mild reflection. The tri-color effect adds a premium look without overpowering detail. Bridging Clean on all spans of the temperature tower; consistent filament flow, no visible sagging or webbing. Overhangs Performed well on moderate angles—better than typical silk PLA in unsupported areas. Stringing Very minimal, even at 190 °C. A few faint wisps—barely noticeable and not an issue. This TPU filament is as good as any. Easy to print, very strong, great color. The red looks just like twizzlers and that would make a great little prank. All joking aside, it's as good as any TPU flex filament.

This was my first experience with Tri color silk, and I must say, Its great stuff! It has a beautiful shine, especially if you take the time to print a temperature tower to see at what temp it shines the best in your printer. You can also print out a coin and see the alignment of the color changes and can turn your model accordingly to get the colors you want on the facets you want. I highly recommend you give it a try. The value for the money is top tier.

The media could not be loaded. This multicolor silk PLA filament produces some great-looking prints. The bold gradient transition was exactly what I was hoping for when I ordered it. ✅️ What I like: -Full 2.2 lb spool with tight winding. I have not had any issues with loose filament, tangling, or feeding problems. -Striking color blend. The primary colors are red and black, but there are also noticeable gold tones. This really stands out on movable prints like fidget toys, especially when viewed in motion. -Solid and opaque prints. My finished prints have come out strong, without brittleness, fragility, or unwanted translucency. -Clean performance. I have not experienced stringing, oozing, or nozzle clogs while printing. -Good bed adhesion. It adhered well to a clean, smooth PEI plate at 210°C. The listed print temperature range is 190°–230°C. ⚠️ What I didn’t like: -The red is darker than expected. On many prints, it leans more maroon rather than bright red. -The gold tones may not suit everyone. If you are specifically looking for a simple red-to-black gradient, the added gold may be a drawback. Overall, I’ve had a very good experience with this filament. The color contrast is bold, the printing performance has been reliable, and the finished prints look smooth and eye-catching. If you enjoy bold multicolor filament with a glossy silk finish, this is a fun option that prints well and creates standout pieces.

I had no intention of doing a project I was working on with tri-color filament. This was ordered by mistake, and due to time constraints, we had to use it once it arrived. Although this filament did exactly what we needed it to do, and in a flawless manner, our project would have looked better in a single color filament. This filament is beautiful on examples I’ve seen of dragons, and creations with scales or articulated sections. It is a great product!
