Crisp sound perfect for speech
Color: Dark Grey
I bought this on sale for very cheap just for the computer I watch TV on, but the sound quality blew me away. For news and other speech, the sound is great. I prefer it to my studio monitors because there's less bass, so human speech is clear and crisp. But it's not tinny like another brand's soundbar that I have with 2-way speakers. One great feature is that the volume knob doesn't have a big range of motion, so adjusting volume quickly is easy. I have another similar product with a digital volume knob and it takes a lot of turning for the same adjustment. Volume is surprisingly loud, I don't know how they get this much power from a USB power plug. And finally it looks and feels nice because it's wrapped in cloth. Highly recommend the R50 for TV, remote meetings, phone calls, etc.

Perfect everyday desktop speaker
Color: Dark Grey
I bought these because I don't always want to wear headphones while using my laptop, and they've been a great addition to my setup. For an inexpensive set of speakers, they get surprisingly loud, and the sound quality is decent. They don't have deep bass, but they do produce enough low end to make music, videos, and games more enjoyable than using my laptop's built-in speakers. The controls are simple and easy to learn, so adjusting the volume or switching modes is quick and straightforward. I also like that they're compatible with just about anything that has a standard 3.5 mm AUX connection, making them easy to use with different devices. The RGB lighting isn't something I personally care much about, but if you like desk lighting it's a nice bonus. Overall, these are a great budget set of speakers that offer good sound, easy controls, and excellent value for the price.

Its okay when it decides to work....ie do not buy this
Color: Dark Grey
Got this to use as a powered speaker for my monitor via the 3.5mm connection. This is the second soundlion speaker system I've bought and it is the last. I don't know who is responsible for design or quality control but after about a week of use it doesn't matter if its hooked up to bluetooth or even 3.5mm it just randomly cuts out like it "goes to sleep" and if I unplug and replug it in or mess with the sound it will start working again. So if you do get a working model that isn't plagued with the same problem as myself the sound quality is nothing to write home about. For one the speakers seem to be side by side in the center of the bar which makes for really WEIRD staging as a monitor speaker like you have to center this directly under your monitor centered up with your nose to get an stereoscopic effect. The speakers are tuned very bass forward making the clarity overall muddled. The sound doesn't suffer distortion (even at peak volumes which is a surprise) so much as it seems to suppress the mids and highs to be buried by the bass, you can fix this if your software has an equalizer but you shouldn't have to. I like the aesthetics of the device I really like the way it lays on the desk and angles up, it's got nice colorways, and it's true to size. Bottom Line: Don't waste your money on this system spend a little more and get something that will work right and sound good because this just ain't it Chief.

Decent speaker with flaws
Color: Dark Grey
DESIGN: The design of this speaker is nice, but it's probably much larger than it would need to be. I suppose that helps with the bass response somewhat. SOUND QUALITY: Barring the other issues mentioned below, this speaker preforms as expected for the price point. Volume is decently loud without overdriving the speakers and bass response is better than expected. The midrange is somewhat muddy and the highs are a bit harsh, though. ISSUES: Both of these issues led to me nearly returning the speaker, but I found a solution for both. These may not be worth the effort for most people, however. 1. Other reviewers have mentioned a "staticky" sound they noticed. I noticed this too. It occurred across the entire range of the speaker and at all volumes. This sound is caused by the design of the speakers themselves. The tinsel lead wire is too long and thus is vibrating against the spider and diaphragm of the speaker (see video). I pulled the slack out and resoldered the wires, alleviating the issue somewhat. 2. Another complaint I noticed is that system sounds are low or muted. This is because the speaker has a noise gate programmed in, meaning they basically turn off when there is no output to avoid low background interference/buzzing. This is a cheap workaround to proper shielding and grounding that you would see in a higher-end speaker. This seems to be pronounced in AUX mode more so than Bluetooth mode. I programmed a Python script to play a low level, low frequency (5Hz) sound to in the background and on startup. This has completely fixed the issue. I've included a screenshot of my Python script for those inclined to try this. To run on startup, you'll need to create a batch file to add to your startup programs folder in Windows. You'll want to run this in pythonw.exe to avoid the command line popping up.
