    • Some assembly required -- here's how

This is not a complete review because the chairs have arrived, but the table isn't scheduled until next week. The chairs are stable, sturdy and reasonably comfortable. There were several flaws in the stiching. I don't know what the standard is for outdoor furniture, but if these were clothes, they would be sold as "seconds." What I mainly want to talk about is assembly. The first thing to do is not follow the instructions (they're wrong). The second thing is not to use the supplied tools (they're next to useless). I suggest you get a small ratchet with a 1/2" socket and an S2 (5/32") hex bit. Otherwise it will take forever. Anyone knows that when you bolt two things together, you put the bolt through, then put on the flat washer, the lock washer and the bolt in that order. These instructions reverse the flat and lock washers in the diagram. So do it right rather than how it's indicated in the diagram (the pre-assembled parts are correct). If you're assembling this alone, use a clamp to hold the seat base to the chair post until you get some bolts in it. Be careful not to omit the "H" plate. Sometimes the chair post is assembled poorly and you can't get the other bolts in. Just loosen the installed bolts to adjust everything to fit. I suggest loosely installing all the bolts before tightening them with your ratchet and 1/2" socket. The supplied wrench can be used to hold the bottom nut when tightening from the top although it's awkward and a conventional thicker wrench would be more stable. Do not use an impact driver to assemble these chairs. The metal is not that tough. Fortunately, each pair of chairs comes with one extra of each piece of assembly hardware. If you strip something, there is an extra. Once the chair post is attached to the seat, insert the post into the chair base before installing the arms. That way you have a stable platform to work on. You can lay the workpiece on its side with easy stability when installing each arm. Attach the right and left arms first and leave them very loose, otherwise it will be very difficult to bolt on the back. Bolt on the back loosely and then tighten all the bolts using the hex bit on your ratchet. Then you're done. The first two chairs took a lot longer to assemble than the second two because I got the right tools, didn't follow the mistakes, and did things in the right order. I was so excited to receive my patio set I set to work on it right away. As soon as I unwrapped the table I noticed there's a hole in the table. I thought I'd put it together and I could glue the piece in. But, the piece doesn't sit exactly in the hole. So I took the table apart underneath and still can't get it to fit. I've contacted the seller to see if I can get a replacement because I don't relish the hassle in returning a heavy table! On a good note, it was easy to put together. I did it in 30 minutes by myself. It's sturdy and very nice. Just wish there wasn't a hole in it! 😪 ... show more

This is perfect for what I need and could spend. I'd like to get a larger, more study table some day, this one is aluminum and sort of small, but good for the two of us. What I really love are the chairs! They swivel and rock and don't have cushions I'll need to replace every few years. The material is perfect, I've had other chairs with the same stuff in my yard for years. But they didn't swivel and rock. Super comfy and I'm enjoying working from the back yard these days. It took me about 2 1/2 hours to assemble everything on my own (and an additional hour to unpack everything!) Use a power drill and your own socket wrench...much easier that the tools they include. The table arrived a day before the chairs, and I got an Amazon message the set had been delivered. I reported I only received the table and seller responded the next day with the tracking info for the chairs. FedEx showed up about 30 min later with them. ... show more
