  • Creative well edited recipes
Some issues for a US cook: oven temps are in Celsius, fluid measurements are in milliliters, UK food names (aubergine, rocket, coriander) and some ingredients (smoked tofu, spelt spaghetti, pointed cabbage, tofu-based feta) are unavailable in this country. I've made three dishes (all tasty) none of the typical cookbook sins (ingredients not used in recipe, overly optimistic timing, etc.) Most recipes have pictures, which give me both inspiration and a target presentation. It's nice to have a well edited superset of Soph's Instagram recipes. Many new things to try. Dishes are creative and avoid the "just like meat" approach. Many of her recipes do require blending, more dirty dishes. I need to get one of those magic containers she uses on Instagram that blends all the ingredients by merely twisting the plastic with her massive tattooed guns. ... show more

  • A must buy for anyone looking to start living healthier and happier!
I’ve been trying to get into a healthier lifestyle and Sophie’s cookbook was announced like a godsend. What a well done work! The knowledge she shares in the first part of the book is an incredibly helpful breakdown of how to approach (hotly debated) topics like macronutrients, nutrition in general, resistance training (especially for women!), and was enjoyed by my entire family. This is a bit of a long review, but there’s endless good things to say about this book— there are tons of new recipes, that all look delicious and a few that I’ve even tried (they were instant family favorites). Love love love the entire first 44 pages and really appreciate a little bit of not only nutritional take aways, but workout ones too. I also love the layout and the colors! I’ve never made a recipe from this woman that I didn’t enjoy. Go soph!

  • Her recipes live up to the hype. Recipes are easy, fast, and full of nutrient dense flavor!
I am not the best or the fastest in the kitchen but this book makes me feel like I can cook! I went vegan 1.5 years ago and stumbled upon her instagram page and instantly knew she was going to be one of my go to gals for my plant based journey. Her recipes are fairly simple but SO delicious. The ingredients are easy to find staples. Many of her recipes reuse the same ingredients so it's easy to bulk buy on spices, nuts, condiments to cover several recipes. Easy to read instructions and beautiful photos. I love doubling up on the recipes as meal prep for me and my partner. I've had this book for 5 days and have already made 6 dishes! Yes, there is a lot of reading in the beginning but you don't have to read it to start cooking..cook now, read later lol If you're looking to add more nutrient dense, delicious plant based meals in your life look no further! ... show more

  • Reigniting my excitement for cooking
This is the book I always wish existed. Healthy options to fuel a fit lifestyle, that are delicious and relatively quick & simple. I love that there are lots of examples of how to change up ingredients or how to do a different spin on a dish for more variety (or if a certain ingredient isn’t doable due to availability, allergies, preference, etc). It not only provides specific recipes but also feels like it is teaching a cooking methodology that can be applied to my own unique preferences that will last long after I’ve tried all of the printed recipe options. ... show more

I’ve always said, if I get 1 good recipe out of a cookbook, it will be worth it. Well, I’m pretty sure I’ll get 100 good recipes out of this book. I just made the first dish from the book, and I cannot get enough. As I was preparing the dish, I was wondering if the flavors were going to work. OMG they do! I absolutely love that there is a picture of every single dish and I can’t wait to show everyone that vegans absolutely get enough protein and I’m pretty sure our food tastes a lot better too. ... show more

Truly the best cook book I’ve ever bought! The amount of recipes in here is insane. I love that it’s broken into lengthier vs quicker dishes, bowls, high protein, sauces you can use with difference plates, desserts. I’m not even vegan or vegetarian but I love Sophie’s recipes. I sometimes add meat to them as well! I also love that every recipe has a photo. Definitely get this book if you’re looking for well crafted plant based dishes - whether you’re a vegan/vegetarian or someone who wants to add more plant focused dishes into their diet ... show more
