I'm pretty happy with it. It checks the boxes I wanted. Fast, small, easy to use, takes good pictures and video (as good as and better than my iPhone 15, which was my goal). My main reason for getting this camera is for photos, and it sells as a video camera, but it does great with photos. Auto focus and stabilization are great. Controls are pretty easy, but it would be good if this were a true touch screen to navigate the menu (the "touch" is only for focus.) The Sony app to sync it to your phone and transfer pictures isn't as great as I would like. I have been successful in getting it to work, but only after watching multiple videos on YouTube about it. The Bluetooth is finicky. I have not been able to get it to connect with my PC, but the card reader does work to transfer files. The videos take a long time to transfer in the app. I'm happy with it overall, but disappointed I had to spend this much to get a decent small camera nowadays. Especially one that was released 5 years ago. Amazon's price was on par with other places I've found. ... show more

I loved my canon G7X but it finally died. It drove me nuts sometimes with focus failure issues though. I bought this one as a replacement. Nice size and weight. Carry this with me everywhere in my backpack with my computer. Does well with sounds too for quick video clips and interviews. So far please with the switch. I have the Sony A7 S but it annoys me because no touch screen ... show more

I bought in Aug '25 a replacement ZV-1 because the ZV-1 I bought in March of '25 got damaged badly and no longer worked. As I went thru my replacement, I discovered that Sony made a great thing mediocre. The 1st thing I saw was how limited I was now in setting video resolution, type and frame rate. Before, I had a wide menu - now I have 2 choices for these 3 parameters combined. Next, my older ZV had a built-in mic menu that allowed me to set sensitivity in a 360 degree setting, or I could focus it to the 180 degrees in front of the camera. After use, I think I'm now going to have to get an external mic or start shouting because that function no longer exists and audio pickup is weaker. Lastly (as far as I know so far), when I plugged my older camera into my computer, it gave me the option to charge the battery or connect with my computer via USB to transfer all video/image files to the computer. No more. Now, I have to remove the SD card and put it into an SD card reader (which luckily I have) and manually transfer my files (It will talk to a Smart Phone but not a computer), and... you can only charge the battery using the external charger where before it would charge thru USB in the computer. Additionally, if you want to use a continuous power supply, you have to go into the setup menu and tell the camera to use it, otherwise it stays on battery. I'm honestly looking into getting my older model ZV-1 repaired... ... show more

This is a great beginner camera for an older teen/new photographer that is social media savvy. The pictures create many different looks from the settings and with the kit of accessories, vlogging has been seamless. We did also purchase a silicone camera case to help prevent any scratches. It takes a hot minute to learn how to seamlessly transfer the videos/photos from the camera to a phone. ... show more

I'm happy with my camera purchase. I haven't quite figured out allthe functions, but it takes nice pictures and videos. The battery doesn't last too long if you're filming longer videos, so that's a negative.

This camera is to create online content only. No zoom at all. The pictures have very good quality but I needed a point and shoot camera for traveling but when I tested the zoom it's not what I was looking for for a +700 USD camera.
