Great sound quality! Battery life seems to last for days and I use this every day for at least two hours. Also like the extra case, you do have to shove the speaker inside but it fits just fine after doing so. This speaker is very durable lasting many beach trips and is definitely sand and waterproof! My 14 year old son was behind this purchase. He had an ok bluetooth speaker but wanted something that could both reach high volume and sound good doing so. Mission accomplished. Every day it sounds like there's a concert coming from his room. Even with the door closed. Last weekend I was doing yard work. I heard bass and looked up expecting to see a car going past. The boom was coming from the house. The speaker is well constructed. The exterior has a nice fabric covering. It's got a handle that sits flush when not being used. It can be used outdoors because of its waterproof rating, just make sure the ports are closed. Perfect for by the pool. The app is simple to use but isn't necessary. It allows you to mess with the equalizer and I'm pretty sure the lights are able to be controlled via the app also. My kid already had it because he's got Sony headphones too. The case in this bundle is absolutely necessary if you plan on taking this anywhere. The ends of the speaker are susceptible to damage and should be protected when you take this somewhere. It's a hard case but doesn't add much weight to what you'll be carrying. Basically if you want a high quality bluetooth speaker that can fill a large area with sound this is the one. It is definitely worth the price, Sony makes some of the best consumer audio electronics. And I'm waiting for a knock on the front door asking for the music to be turned down :) ... show more

    • Speaker doesn't fit in travel case
The speaker is awesome, no complaints. The primary reason I bought it on Amazon was for the bundle with the carrying case. Guess what, it doesn't fit in the case. Not happy, but at least I got a good speaker.
