I've had this lens for over a year and a half now. It's traveled across the world, held up through rain, terrain, clumsy bumps. The quality of the pictures that come out of this thing are incredible for the price point. It's my first time buying a prime and let me tell you, it really helps you figure out your photography style a lot better. You have to be more intentional about composition and lighting, but the lens itself is very forgiving. The AF is pretty solid in 95% of cases, but it sometimes does try to focus on the wrong object or has trouble catching focus—I typically find that when that's the case, I'm not exposing correctly or giving the sensor enough light and then it does the trick. I'm still figuring out this thing known as photography, but as far as lenses go, this one is SUPER versatile, light and easy to carry, and the quality is FANTASTIC, whether you're shooting photo or video, landscapes/portraits/street. I think the next step is to get the 85mm to complement this one... ... show more
