  • Pro's & Cons between Sony In Zone H9 Wireless Headset to the Sony Pulse 3D Wireless Headset
Color: White Pattern: H9 Headset
I'm currently using the Sony In Zone H9 Wireless Headset with my PlayStation 5 via USB dongle (2.4 Ghz) and paired up to my Android phone via (Bluetooth). I own two pairs of Pulse 3D wireless headsets (Black & White) both are still working in perfect condition to compare this written comparison review. I bought the H9's to see if my gaming experience would be better compared to the Pulse 3D headset. Here's the pros and cons for the H9's comparing it to the Pulse 3D wireless headset. Pros: • H9's are very comfortable. H9's don't squeeze your head as much as the Pulse 3D's. Very little difference between the two but slightly noticable comfort. • H9's feels lighter on my head. Both are pretty light weight headsets. Most likely this is from the bigger ear cups on the H9's. • Both are Glasses friendly headsets. • Both use USB-C to charge the headsets. • Both have easy volume controls on the left ear cup. H9's has a volume wheel for adjusting the overall sound which is more user friendly compared to the up and down separate volume buttons on the Pulse 3D headset. • Both are able to adjust the game volume and voice chat volume independently. (This is a huge pro for when playing online with friends.) H9's button's are on the right ear cup. Pulse 3D's are on the left. • Noise Cancelation on the H9's is the true seller for me. It's really good. By far the best feature to have on a gaming headset. Turning the Noise Cancelation On is as easy as pressing a single button on your left ear cup to adjust the level of noise around you. When I turn on the noise cancelation to max I can't even hear my window air-conditioner any more. Which was a distraction from my gaming experience. • Microphone quality sounds allot better as what my PSN friends say. • H9's are easier to rest around your neck because the ear cups fold in towards your chest. Pulse 3D's ear cups don't fold or move at all. • H9's are able to pair a Bluetooth device while gaming on the PlayStation 5. For example I can listen to music or answer phone calls from my Smartphone all while I can still hear the game and chat audio from the PlayStation 5. Tip: Best way if you're needing to focus on your phone call press and hold the mute button on your DualSense Controller to kill the voice chat and game chat audio from the PS5. • The Sound quality from the H9 headset has better Highs and Better Lows. I ran several tests with this headset both bass sound tests and vocal sound tests. Overall the sound quality of these internal speaker's in the H9's are a improvement compared to the Pulse 3D. Both headsets have really good sound for gaming. Cons: • The Price between the two is a $200 difference. Pulse 3D is $99 and the H9's are $299. • Can't mute the microphone with the DualSense Controller. (The Pulse 3D Wireless Headset also can't mute the microphone from the DualSense Controller unless you use the 3.5 mm headphone jack to the DualSense Controller. This is a minor complaint but logically it makes sense to use the most quickest way to mute yourself for thing's like coughing or sneezing. The DualSense Controller mute button is the quickest button that's near your hands while gaming. This is a major oversight for the PS5's firmware/hardware. Pro Tip: to mute yourself on the H9's you just flip up the boom microphone on the left ear cup until you hear a click or see the microphone is muted on the TV. With the Pulse 3D Wireless Headset you have to press the Mute button on the left ear cup. • If you're standing or sitting down and you bend over 45° and look straight downward to the floor the H9's slowly start to slide off your head. Pulse squeeze's your head slightly more so the headset doesn't slide off your head as fast. Nothing to be major concerned about because you typically look forward while play games. • H9's don't have a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Pulse 3D headset does. • H9's don't currently have a EQ option to adjust on the PlayStation 5 compared to the Pulse 3D. Overall I'm impressed with the H9's. My only major complaint is the price and the lack of EQ settings on the PlayStation 5. Both issues could be resolved overtime. So if you're looking for a gaming headset and want good quality sound and the ability to cut out sounds around you while you're playing a video game I'd strongly recommend the H9's. If you're not wanting noise cancelation and are on a budget I'd recommend the Pulse 3D headset. ... show more

  • Excellent ambient mode, excellent sound after good EQ tweaking, perfect for my needs.
Color: White Pattern: H9 Headset
I got these specifically because I need a good ambient mode for playing or listening to things, but also need low latency for gaming while remaining wireless. This fits all those need. Pros + Comfy and good fit. Remain comfy for long wearing time. + Excellent noise canceling and very, very good ambient mode + When paired to BT and PC, can seamlessly play both sources overlapping. + Sound quality very good. Full mids, crisp highs, not overwhelming bass. + Mic movement to mute/unmute works great + Spatial sound seems to work well. In specifically MW 2019 on PC, can hear locations of steps and fire clearly and cleanly. Might be the newness effect, but it does feel much better than my previous cheap headphones. Cons - Definitely look goofy/big. Like an air traffic controller. Probably not great to wear in public as headphones. - Software still iffy. EQ control doesn't seem to do anything, but everything else does. - Expensive. I had very specific needs and didn't really see anything that fit them all. For those without all those needs, cheaper options may be better. Overall Very pleased. For my needs, nothing ticks all of the boxes as well as this does. It's a great combination of "good headphones" and "good gaming headset", which often don't have as much overlap. I was literally about to buy the Sony XM5s until I saw this announcement. At $100 cheaper than those, with what appears to be nearly equal audio performance (maybe not quite as good bass and definitely not as professional looking) and the dedicated high speed wireless USB connection (so I don't have to rely on lag BT or tethered 3.5mm cord) it seemed like a great deal. Love them. UPDATE a few days later: The INZONE Hub software EQ flat out does not work, which is why I got mediocre bass (but still amazing mids and highs). The default flat EQ just feels lifeless in the bass. On, PC, I found and am using a free third party EQ app (Equalizer APO Peace). Now, these sound INSANELY GOOD. Smooth crisp mids and highs remain, but now has the thick and punchy life in the lows as well. It's clean and smooth, so long as you EQ reasonably. I used one of the headphone presets and tweaked accordingly. Cranking the 80-120hz range too much CAN start distorting and muffling vocals and other mids, but it has definitely come alive with some good EQ. I hope the first party software gets fixed soon. ... show more

  • Review after one year
Color: White Pattern: H9 Headset
I've been through a lot of gaming headsets over the years and after a year of using the H9s they are easily the best ones I have used. First off, as someone who mostly plays on Playstation they integrate perfectly. You get all of the UI features you'd expect from a first party product which immediately feels better than other third party brands. PC performance is good but not really noteworthy in any way, they sound great, they work fine. There is an app that you can use on windows but in my opinion it's useless. The default sound profile is much better than anything I could come up with on my own. Bluetooth is also really nice to have. You can listen to music or take calls while playing games easily One of the best things about it is just how comfortable they are. I've found most gaming headsets uncomfortable after extended use but I could wear the H9s all day without any discomfort other them getting a little warm in the summer. Of the dozen or so gaming headsets I've used, nothing else comes close to being as comfortable as the H9s. The default sound profile is pretty balanced. If you are a huge bass junkie something from Turtle Beach or logitech might be a better choice, but for me there is plenty of bass on the H9s. You can crank it up in the app but it just doesn't sound very good. Noise cancelling is also very solid. The easiest headphones I'd compare them to is the Sony XM4 or XM5. I think both the sound and noise cancelling is slightly better on ths headphones, but the H9s are very close to as good. Cons: the price is steep, but I think it's understandable when you look at comparable headphones. They run a bit large. I think a child would have trouble wearing them so keep that in mind The automatic turn off doesn't seem to recognize PS5 rest mode as being "turned off" meaning that if I forget to manually turn them off I'll often come back the next day to a mostly dead battery. Seems like a frustrating oversight on Sony's part. Expect to turn them off manually each time. If you are only using them on PC the auto turn off function seems fine. This is probably the biggest downside to them. Also, these go on sale regularly and it's not hard to find them for around half off either from a sale or refurb. I found mine for $140 and have friends that also got them for that cheap. Overall I'd highly recommend. ... show more

  • Buyer beware‼️
Color: White Pattern: H9 Headset
So I purchased these headphone last year for myself and they only lasted about 2 months before I started having issues with it the centerpiece of the headphone that's supposed to be like a memory foam with a leather kind of material started separating from the headphones themselves as if it was like some sort of cheap glue I also seen a lot of issues with the microphone itself it would just cut out the wiring inside is just cheap I had super super high hopes for these headphones the sound quality everything about them was great I really really enjoyed them for the first 2 months but after I started having those issues I just regretted spending 200 plus dollars on these headphones definitely not worth it you're better off getting some Logitech headphones or any other ones I face the same issues with the the pulse elites headphones as well just poor design cheap plastic they broke I purchased headphones and just terrible experience all around I wouldn't buy them again nor would I recommend them to friends they are like high quality but the cheapest high quality poorly assembled I'm a huge Sony fan I was very disappointed with these headphones. ... show more

  • Had about a year, Bought because i needed noise cancelling with a mic. pros and cons
Color: White Pattern: H9 Headset
Had these for about a year now and they have some pros and some cons for sure. I'm glad i purchased them because the noise cancelling is very good and my neighbor plays the drums and his friend plays the bass. If they fix the cons i'll probably buy the next version but if not i may look for quality competitors. Pros: *Dual connection, Comfort (with the Geekria Medium Velour Hook and Loop cover) too big without *BIGGEST thing for me i needed noise cancelling and i'm used to the Sony WH-1000xm3. *wheel for volume is really cool, and still going strong Cons: *Too big on my head (smallish head) without a headband cover. i use Geekria Medium Velour Hook and Loop Headband Cover. *Annoying incessant reconnecting beeping whenever you walk away. No way i know to turn it off you either suffer or turn the headset off. *They are too big on your head unless you are trying to stand out. I have other Sony headsets that are more comfortable and smaller with just as good of noise cancelling. Also be careful walking around with them on because the mic cannot disconnect and is just asking to snag and snap. *can only work via usb dongle. Cable connection is just for charging. *cost. for all these negatives and they were nearly $300 when i purchased but i expected to pay a lot to get good ANC Ultimately i will not buy a version 2 unless they address the negatives. The sound quality is great and the noise cancelling is great but theres too many annoying or just bad things about them. hopefully competitors can do better if sony can't. I have the WH 1000xm3 and they don't have the same problems. no annoying disconnection sounds. pretty sleek and great for smaller heads. a 3.5'' jack to work without wireless. honestly i would prefer those if they had a mic with sidetalk. ... show more

  • Good sound quality and comfortable
Color: Black Pattern: H9 Headset
I use them on my PS5. They have good sound quality. Great directional 3D audio. The noise cancelling works well but I've heard better from cheaper headsets before, however, I find that I don't even need to use it as the cups block out quite a bit without the need to cut your battery life in half. Normal battery life is great and I love the easy on/off flip mic. People say I sound clear 9n the mic too. Also has built in dedicated buttons for changing the mix from game to chat and easy roller switch for adjusting the overall volume. I switched from the Playstation platinum to these as the headband on the platinum was VERY uncomfortable. These I can wear for hours with no issues at all. We'll see how long the padded headband holds up though, feels a little on the cheap side for the price point. By default the talk back function is on, so that means you hear yourself recorded on a slight delay in the headset. This can be turned off by hooking them up to a Windows pc and downloading the Sony software and they will remember this setting when connected to the Playstation in the future. I've only had them a couple of months but overall I'd say they are a very good headset but if they are totally worthy the money is still TBD over more time. ... show more

  • Pretty Great Headphones
Color: Black Pattern: H9 Headset
I had the Inzone H7 before this, and the sponge on top came off after having it for about 3 years. I've always loved the H7 but it didn't have noise cancelation which I thought was a nice feature and it seems like at the moment you cant find too many noise cancelling for under 300 dollars so I tried a few other headphones before the H9. I tried the PlayStation Pulse (not the pro just the normal one)and I wasn't too pleased not able to connect to multiple sources and no noise cancelation and small earmuffs for the headphones, then I tried the SteelSeries 7 and they were terrible on the sound quality had bunches of crackling and sound breaks so finally I got these pair and so far they are pretty great, nice clean sound, able to connect to multiple sources, nice noise canceling as well as the ambient noise to hear stuff outside your headphones loving them so far ill edit my review if anything changes. ... show more

  • If they were made to be more durable it would be 5 stars
Color: White Pattern: H9 Headset
I had purchased these a little over a year ago, at the time I was writing this review. Within that year, I had come to absolutely love these headphones. They had three noise-canceling modes. 1) None; 2) Partial; and 3) Best noise-canceling option out of the three. You can connect it to any device with a dongle, or you can connect your phone directly to it. This lets you listen to your phone and play games at the same time. My only problem with these is just how absolutely fragile they are. You'd think, for the price, you could throw them at the ground and they'd be fine. (I've never thrown my headsets on the ground, but I've owned some; I wouldn't be scared to do that with them, knowing they'd be fine.) But that's absolutely not the case. I'm not sure what happened to them, but one day I woke up and found them on the ground, broken. Now usually the most activity these would see is falling off my head if I bend over to grab something on the floor, and usually they can handle a little 2-3 foot drop. I'm not sure if my kid broke them by accident; she's 2, and I don't think she would try to use them for anything besides what she's seen them used for already. (Sitting on my head like a hat.) Or maybe I just stepped on them unknowingly. Whatever it could have been, there wouldn't have been enough force to break anything else. All that came to my mind was that it was not capable of withstanding normal wear for a prolonged period of time, such as a year. Well, I tried taping them, but after moving into mom's, her big dog got a hold of them, and she's teething, so she used my headset to bite on them. I won't be getting my money back from anyone. If you ask me, these should've really come with a headphone case, like how the Sony Edge controller has a case. I want to finish by explaining that these are very good headphones with very good features like noise cancellation, 3D audio for games that provide that experience, and Bluetooth pairing to your phone or other device. Out of all the headphones I ever used, I utilized these the best and used all the features on a daily basis! I genuinely believed these to be the end-all-be-all headset for a man in my predicament (likes to game with a headset but still needs his attention elsewhere outside the game), but that predicament was not the end-all-be-all for these headsets, unfortunately. I will be using my previous headphones that I stopped using before these (Turtle Beach A20). While they won't give me the experience I get with these headphones, I know they can take a beating, and I can rely on them to be there when I need them. ... show more
