Listen, this system gets it. My neighbors hate me. It's the best sound for the money. Soothing deep base that penetrates my neighbors walls unfortunately and our houses are spaced out. So loud, so good. If you need more sound than you're crazier than I am. I can't even tell you how much I love music and love this sound system. Bose eat your heart out. This is the one to get right here boys. Probably one of my favorite and most "impactfull" purchases. I may need to move soon because of this sound in case y'all know someone with a good deal on rent.     • Perfect for me
I’m enjoying the new set up replacing my previous Sony sound bar and subwoofer. It took minutes to set up. Putting together the rear speaker stands took more time than the plug and play. The rear speakers do their job perfectly as they are meant to do…the extra sound effects like glass breaking, the explosions, bullets zipping by, background chatter from the main character dialogue. Same with console gaming. I usually keep it on standard surround for tv, movie and gaming. The center speakers are a great upgrade from my other one with the three speakers and the sub does its thing. Playing music on the other hand is different, switch to the music setting reading out on the subwoofer. Can play for sure but you’re not having a house party with this setup. Busting the rear speakers would be awful especially for those who have blown car audio know what I mean. All in all…I recommend this setup for Sony fans, easy setup and sounds great. ... show more

    • Great Sound Quality Ruined by Random Loud Cracking Noise
This system sounds amazing when it works. The surround sound quality is excellent, movies sound immersive, dialogue is clear, and the rear speakers really add to the experience. For the price, I originally thought this was a fantastic setup. Unfortunately, there are some major reliability problems that completely ruined it for me. About nine times a week, the rear speakers will randomly produce an extremely loud crackling noise out of nowhere. It is startling enough to make you jump while watching TV, and sometimes it even happens when nothing is playing at all. It honestly sounds like something is malfunctioning or shorting out. If this had happened during the return window, I absolutely would have returned the system. Another issue is connectivity. Roughly once a month, the system completely fails to show up as an input on the TV. The only fix is to fully power off the TV, turn off the sound system, and restart everything to get it working again. That gets old fast. The subwoofer is also not wireless, which was disappointing. It uses a proprietary cable connected to the main soundbar, so placement options are limited. If it used HDMI or a standard connection, or better yet was fully wireless, setup would be much more flexible. I really wanted to love this system because the actual audio quality is great. But the random loud crackling from the rear speakers makes it impossible for me to recommend. Nothing like peacefully watching a movie and suddenly feeling like your surround speakers declared war on your eardrums. ... show more

    • DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT
I purchased this product 12/29/25 to compliment my new Sony TV. Set up was fairly easy. First problem started right away. There was no sound coming out of the 2 rear speakers. After a few calls to Sony, they finally found a setting on the tv that fixed that problem. The unit worked for a month or so then I started hearing popping/interference noises out of the rear speakers and the sound would disconnect. I called Sony again. They stated the unit needed an update to correct this issue. I downloaded the update onto a usb and when I tried to install the update the unit froze and would not complete. Sony said I had to send the subwoofer in for repair (sent on Feb 19). Repair was supposed to take 7-10 days. I received an email on Feb 26 stating they now need the soundbar to diagnosis. That was sent on March 9. Received another email March 23 stating they also need to amplifier and rear speakers. If they had told me they needed the whole unit in the first place, I might have had it back by now! When I called to get the third shipping label, I suggested to the rep that a new unit should just be sent, she stated that this unit is eligible for REPAIR ONLY, NOT REPLACEMENT. So if I get this back someday and it still does not work right, am I out my money? If Sony does not stand behind their product, this is the LAST Sony product I will purchase.     • Don’t need the surround speakers
As a sound system its pretty good but the surround sound is almost not there at all. They perform about as good as that Australian breakdancing girl. A lot flailing with occasional noise. Sony flopped with those. If you want the real deal get something else but if you want a good sound bar and bass this is good for the price. ... show more

I bought this at the end of 2024 and it is dead by mid 2026. For some reason it always had problems with the HBO Max app, the audio would be slightly out of sync with the visuals at the start of a show and again during commercial breaks. But it finally crashed out by making it sound like the love child of Alvin and the Chipmunks and Sméagol is coming out of the speakers. That is for all streaming services and movies. If I could go back, I'd bite the bullet and invest in the most expensive higher quality systems. ... show more
