abunda_amazon_reviews This is my go to lens for astrophotography and landscape. I just used it for wedding portraits yesterday and love it too! It’s sharp across the entire frame, even at f/1.4 and has no coma at all. I’ve pixel peeped all the way across the frame on my astrophotography shots and they have been wonderful.;;Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2019;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Amazing lens. Quality across the entire frame.;;Lester Tsai Photography;;;Disclaimer: Amazon.com was out of stock so I ended up purchasing the lens from a local retailer which happened to have one left in stock. From my briefly using this lens I am astonished with the optical quality and size of this lens. First off, the compact size is really a marvel, although the lens is lighter than the competition it still manages to have a fantastic sense of quality and has just enough hefty to feel balanced on my A7Rii body. I have used the Sigma 24 1.4 "Art" and it is definitely quite a bit heftier and physically larger. Focusing is fast and accurate, as with all G Master glass so far. I also have the Nikon 24mm 1.4 and the Sony definitely focuses quieter and faster than the Nikon lens. The Sony lens is noticeably smaller as well. Image quality is impressive and the lens is sharp at f1.4 and manages to have beautiful even Bokeh when focusing on nearby subjects, the images really do have a 3D "Pop" to them. Speaking of close focusing, this lens definitely seems to focus closer than my Nikon 24 f1.4! Overall this lens is a fantastic value and has some of the best ergonomics I've ever used on a lens of this size. Especially the focus ring which is fantastic. There are a only a couple minor detractors to the lens that I have noticed in my brief time with it. - The aperture ring on my version is quite difficult to turn and requires quite a bit of force to actuate. However, this may be on purpose as to not have misclicks while operating. - There is fair amount of coma and vignetting when used wide open and toawrds a bright point of light. My Nikon 24 1.4 also has this issue and this may be a limitation with the designs of the internal assemblies of these wide fast aperture prime lenses. I was debating between spending the money on the FE 16-35 f/2.8 GM or the f/4 Zeiss lens. all this time, however, the 24mm GM was in the back of my mind, and I couldn't stop thinking about how sexy a lens it it. Getting a 16-35 would be the "safe" choice. I needed it because every youtube talking head was drilling it into my head that I should get it. YOU NEED ATHE HOLY TRINITY. Well I, have the Tammy 28-74 f/2.8 and the 100-400GM as well, so i was never going to have a proper holy trinity of lenses anyway, so I decided YOLO and ordered the 24mm f/1.4 GM instead. I am very glad I did. This lens is stunning. It's barely left my camera since I got it. It's the sharpest lens I own, and the build quality is amazing and it's significantly less expensive than the 16-35GM while being plenty wide for my needs.
