  • WOW! JUST WOW!
I have no idea why no one is reviewing these. These things are amazing! At least I think so, the sound quality is on par with any other high end Sony sound product. And these are awesome if you live in a household like mine. I live in a small house, with a 13yr old Grandson who sits at his computer with headphones all the time, and a wife who really isn't into big theater sound when watching movies, and most of the time I want to watch a movie when she doesn't. So, until I got these speakers, I had to resort to using headphones of some sort or another. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, I couldn't hear my wife when using my headphones, and nine times out of ten as soon as I started watching a movie, she would want to talk to me. But with these speakers I can have it all!! I can have my big theater sound without bothering anyone else in my house, AND I can have a conversation with my wife at the same time! Another awesome thing about these speakers is that I can wear them at work. My company does not allow us to wear headphones or earbuds while working for safety reasons, but it's perfectly ok for me to listen to a Bluetooth speaker. This Bluetooth speaker sits on my shoulders!! Yes, they are way pricey, but they are built with Sony quality, sound awesome, and for me, worth their weight in gold for so many reasons! Now these things will not be suited for traveling using public transit, you're going to annoy others sitting right next to you because they can hear things that you're listening to, it's just at a lower volume than what you're actually hearing. But that's why you use headphones or earbuds. These are not for travel; these are for big personal theater quality sound without the need of wearing headphones or earbuds. There is what I would consider a very small problem with them. If you move around a lot while wearing them, such as cleaning house, etc. They have a tendency to shift around on your neck, but if you're sitting still watching a movie, they feel very comfortable. I would like to see Sony come out with some sort of clip to hold them together at the front, or maybe a stronger band in the back that will hug your neck a little more. ... show more

  • Great product, it is niche.
The sound is good and they are very comfortable. I do own the Sony SRS-NS7. These are basically an updated version. The sound is cleaner and they are more comfortable. I enjoy listening to music and podcasts as I go about my business, but my ears are sensitive to headphones and earbuds. These are a little expensive and a niche product, but worth it if you fit the use case scenario and have the money. ... show more

  • A very niche item done rather well.
I did not expect the bigness of the sound. The thing is, I'm unsure exactly who this device is supposed to be aimed at. As near as I can tell, it is aimed at apartment dwellers with thin walls, or people who have roommates. At first, you might wonder what the advantages are to a great pair of headphones or earbuds? Well, the speakers can be bigger than you'd find in earbuds, and there is a BIGNESS to the sound when it's outside your ears. It really does sound like surround sound but on a personal level. However, unlike good headphones, this device IS loud enough that if you are watching it in a room with another person, they are going to be able to hear it. In a different room, they'd not hear a thing. So you can get big sound, like you'd get with a full-size stereo system, but you won't irritate your neighbors. So, this is a very cool device, but it has limitations. My primary dislike of it was that if you turn your head left or right, your ears will leave the cone of sound. This doesn't happen with either a full-size stereo or with a decent pair of headphones. While headphones don't quite approach the sound output of this device, they can come close since the speakers can be bigger than you find in earbuds. However, what if you just can't wear a big pair of can style headphones? What if you wear glasses? What if you don't wanna muss your hair? And what if you just want BIG SOUND without the massive soundsystem. I mean, I was really not prepared for the bigness of the sound that came out of the Bravia Theater U. I connected to my source via Bluetooth, but one could connect via supplied cable that connects USB-C to 1/8inch audio plugs. So, this device is for: People who want big sound but don't want to irritate roommates or neighbors, People who are looking straight at their screen or don't mind losing audio if they turn their head. People who cannot wear headphones for some reason. People who can spend hundreds on a personal audio device. So, it's REALLY COOL, but very limited in its application. For the money, you can buy an amazing pair of headphones, which are more versatile and provide big sound, if not amazingly big sound. But it's a really cool gadget. Really cool. ... show more

  • Better than the last and AMAZING experience!
The media could not be loaded. Comparing these to the last version, they are much better. If you haven't ever owned a SONY neckband speaker, they are AMAZING. Especially if you have kids at home and want a theater experience without waking them. Watch the video for more in depth!
