Best flagship OLED out there

This TV is truly exceptional. I was having a very difficult time deciding among which flagship OLED to get, but what steered me to this one was WhatHiFi's review. And after spending time with this TV I can understand why this is crowned the best. The picture is exceptionally nuanced, detailed, and dimensional. The processing is second to none. My biggest concern was that it lacked raw brightness power of its rivals, and I would be missing out on HDR impact. But it really doesn't seem to be an issue. I've compared this to the Panasonic Z95B at full brightness while playing PS5 games, and surprisingly the Bravia looks more vibrant and perceptually brighter in many scenes to my eyes, despite what the numbers say. OLED King? First impressions.
Size: 65 inch Style: TV Only
This purchase replaces a Bravia A90J and is viewed in a dark room. Unpacking and mounting is a 2 person job. It's heavier than its predecessor. Standard Google TV user interface set up: 10 minutes avg. Plugged in Apple TV and eARC to a Yamaha A8A 7.2.4 and was ready to go in minutes. Color, brightness and picture quality are outstanding out of the box in Dolby Vision. Additional settings to adjust image quality and sound are avail and easy to navigate. Only a slight bump in image quality, but the sound processing (or lack thereof via HDMI passthrough) via eArc surprised me the most, with more detail and overall "umpf". Image quality via Blu Ray has not been tested yet, but should be outstanding. Not a gamer, so VRR and 120Hz refresh won't be used much. Value for the money depends on your wallet and whether getting the best in its class matters to you. Sony makes excellent TVs at every tier. ... show more

Beautiful TV, terrible warranty support

I purchased the Sony BRAVIA 8 II expecting a premium product backed by a premium company. Unfortunately, my experience with Sony’s warranty service has been incredibly disappointing. My TV developed an issue while it was still less than a year old and under warranty. I first reported the problem to Sony on July 9, 2026. More than a month later, the television still has not been repaired or replaced. I’ve contacted Sony repeatedly, spoken with customer service, and followed their warranty process, but I’m still left with an unresolved problem and no meaningful resolution. For a television at this price point, that is unacceptable. The BRAVIA 8 II itself has excellent picture quality when it works, which makes this even more frustrating. A premium television isn’t just the panel—you’re also paying for the expectation that the manufacturer will stand behind a very expensive product if something goes wrong. Based on my experience, I would be very hesitant to purchase another Sony television. Buyers considering a BRAVIA should know that if something fails during the warranty period, getting it resolved may be far more difficult and time-consuming than you would expect from a company like Sony. If you have read all of this and still want to buy the Sony, do yourself a favor and look up the experience of others on Reddit. Maybe I'm spoiled but the picture is barely better then on the Sony Bravia 2 I replaced this with. I'm not the least bit impressed and I regret wasting my money on this. I changed my opinion! this is my first OLED and im glad i went with the creme de la creme of OLEDS theres a reason this is the king of TV's. ive been mind blown at this tv's ability to turn movie night into a special treat again, the colors POP, everything is vibrant and lively, its ability to upscale non 4k content is superb, the built in speakers are actually very decent, but a sound bar will be better course, im im waiting for the bravia theater 6 sound bar to go on sale again at $498, i bought this TV in November during Black friday for $2300, and have no regrets, if you want to enjoy the best picture and 4k richness just get a sony bravia 8 ii, youll be happy you did, ... show more
