  • Great purchase overall
There is no remote control. Works great other than having to click current remote incessantly to turn sound up or down. Heavy and sturdy. Impressive ability to create surround sound. Excellent condition for being refurbished. Easy to install.

  • Good sound
The soundbar is of good quality. The phone app is difficult and annoying. I’d rather have a remote control.

  • Has a NAD sound bar before
This sound bar is the best I have ever had. The ability to hear the vocals on the TV is OUT STANDING. If paired with 2 play ones for the back and a sub this setup is the best in the house. I actually moved it from the kids bedroom where it was originally setup and replaced the setup in the family room. ... show more

  • Breaks down in 2 years
I bought this in January of 2020. It broke down in February of 2022. Tech help offered me a trade in situation since it was out of warranty, $375.00 but I have to send them back the broken one since there is no where to get it looked at for repairs. The refurbished one here, or the one I send back will be available for sale to you, for $700. Aren't they nice! Drug dealers are more honest. I decided to boycott Sonos as their customer care is best defined by a used car lot salesman, mostly uncaring. ... show more

  • Only If you have the money 💸💸💸
I finally bought a Sonos!!! I can’t be more underwhelmed!!! Please understand that I know enough about audio and music and this is a review to help someone that is really scrutinizing their options. I’ll try to keep it simple with a pros and cons list PROS 1.The subwoofer is very rich and deep 2.The soundbar itself preforms very good at medium to higher volumes 3. It has a really nice “sleep/always on” status that is pretty nice if you hate having to turn your stereo on and off every time you watch tv. 4. Without installing speakers into your ceiling and walls the only thing closest to a “wireless system” every speaker will need a power source but that’s it. (Sonos Play can act as surround speakers) 5. Easy to connect to my cox remote control CONS 1. Guess what?... this thing HAS TO BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET!!!!! ALL THE TIME!!! What?!?! 2. The sub is sold separately! That’s upwards of $1500 for a basic system!!! 3. It only really shows it’s truly incredible sound during High def sounds and sequences. It still isn’t anything superior for watching general television 4. You MUST have the app on your phone to control the setup/turn the settings off and on and music 5. There is no such thing as a Bluetooth option. You have to access your music apps within the sonos app. (Imagine how your interface is in your car to acces your music apps. Nobody usues the car interface)😐 6. There is NO REMOTE CONTROL. Your remote is your phone and/or your universal remote if you link it (setup wasn’t hard but still). So turning on “Voice” or “night mode” is only in the app.... in your phone 😑 PERFORMANCE Of course if you know how audio and video work then you’ll know that regular television won’t ever transmit the same quality and separated sound channels that a game system/Blu-ray player will while playing high def movies/games. I know. But most people are looking for something for everyday use. I can’t wholeheartedly suggest getting this soundbar unless it’s for your personal home theatre where you mostly play games and watch movies at medium to high volume. In the store this thing sounds great. But they have it up very loud and are playing specifically tailored 4K audio (I listened to it a lot in Best Buy.) I really wanted something that was going to sound like a multi-channel speaker. I wanted it to sound like it could take the place of a 3 channel system. (1 center 2 surround) Again, only during those aforementioned movie/game sequences will I randomly hear a sound that may sound like it’s off to my left or right. I understand acoustics and room shape play a big part but who really lives in an empty square house. Nobody. I’m not expecting miracles but I expected it to really push sound out of it’s left and right sides like it did in the store. Sure the “voice enhancement” is pretty good, but again, it’s never really 100% the manufacturer that’s not making a good “voice” function. It’s your audio signal that’s weak or not configured. It’s good but still not what anyone hopes it is. It helps a lot but still not amazing. If you watch “The Office” on Netflix then you are jumping for the remote every time the intro starts because it’s blaring loud🤣 This helped a lot I can’t stress enough the instant frustration I met when this thing fell of the WiFi WITHIN 2 DAYS!!!! I had no idea what to do!!! I reinstalled the app on my phone, I tried the reset walkthroughs on the internet and even tried a factory reset. I even hardwired it to my router! (Yes there’s a hardwire port) I even got on the computer and kicked it off my network so it could rejoin. Nothing. I was ready to mail it back but I finally took a shot in the dark and unplugged it for a few days. For some reason this worked. The fact that I saw SO MANY chat rooms with people that gave up on this thing trying to get it back on their network instantly filled me with buyers remorse. Chat rooms referred to so many scenarios like the Red Ring of Death on the Xbox. “Once the light turns this color and does this, it’s over” It’s incredibly anxiety inducing when this failure happens and it’s time to try to figure things out and you look down and realize this thing only has 3 buttons (Volume up+down and power.) So you can only try so many different ways to try to fix it. This thing can actually “crash.” Who wants one more thing in their life that can crap out based on software or internet connection? Again, this will not work without an internet connection!!! I understand the internet connection because connectivity and working with Alexa but there should be a “non WiFi” function. What if your WiFi is weak or isn’t working? This thing stops working as well. Now if you’re that person who has the money and wants a “show off” system that sounds really good.... go for it. I bet if you get the soundbar, sub, and add on the surrounding speakers (now around $2000+) It probably sounds amazing. When I turn this thing up with just the sub and the soundbar it’s great but I live in an apartment so this thing never reaches high volume. It’s cool this system is designed to slowly become your full audio system in your whole house but If you did all this then your $700+ soundbar is simply the center channel in your 3-5 channel system. Don’t misunderstand about the audio quality itself though. Ever since hearing the “Play 5” in Target I was in love. I highly recommend treating yourself to one of the single speakers for casual listening. But the HUGE problem is that the soundbar is overpriced without a sub and MUST be connected to WiFi to simply operate. So all in all, If you need to save up the money for this or you are def considering this as a big purchase and a treat for yourself and it’s going to solve all your audio problems because it’s so expensive .... Don’t buy it until you’ve heard other soundbars Take $400-$600 and get a nice one by Visio or Samsung. Or if you are thinking about a multi channel system and hiding cords isn’t a big concern, just buy a nice receiver for $200-$400 and buy the speakers separate. I bough this system because I want a truly “wireless system” and this is def the closest you’ll get right now because all of the speakers are WiFi (but all still need separate power.) But If I had the $3500 and were in a house that I wanted to invest in I would absolutely take this money and install ceiling speakers and but a receiver. It would honestly be about the same if you don’t get ripped off for prices of running the wires in the walls. If I went back I would try some other options first. I’m honestly probably going to keep it only because I’ll try to add the Play speakers and see if it is THAT much better. I’m very sure It will be an incredibly impressive system with the added speakers but I’m sure my place is gonna to look like a speaker showroom 😑 ... show more

  • Still Mind Blowingly Frustrating
I’ve owned Sonos products for 2 years now. I have 4 play 1s, 2 play 5s, and now this play bar. I can tell you I wouldn’t have bought more of these if I wasn’t already invested in the first few I had bought together, and here’s why: These have so many software and connection problems! The speakers are fantastic, don’t get me wrong. High quality, amazing sound. But I’ll list the problems in order of wall punching frustration value. 1. They frequently disappear from the network. If you’re lucky, they may appear after restarting the ap or maybe if you unplug it and plug it in again. If you’re unlucky, you have to disconnect the thing from wherever you have it set up and drag it to whatever far away land your router is in and physically plug it in via Ethernet. 2. Pairing seems impossible. I’ve spent 4 hours trying to make a living room surround with the new play bar and 2 play 1s. Each screen has some kind of error, and still doesn’t work with no reason provided from the ap other than “there was an error” 3. The ap is unintuitive as it gets. So many screens, tabs, and like 9 clicks just to get to any of your music. I have amazon music service, and songs play from here if you make playlists. 4. Playlists have trouble working all the time. Songs will cut out, end halfway through, and skip others. Unfortunately, you have to play through the ap, so good luck. 5. Sometimes, despite no music playing elsewhere, if you have amazon music it will tell you that it cannot play because music is playing somewhere else. There’s no way to tell it to play here instead, and then you’re stuck with no music. Who knows. Customer service is rarely helpful. They take a while to respond, and want lots to help fix anything. It takes forever going back and forth and I’ve yet to have a problem solved permanently. Overall, great speaker build and quality sound, but garbage software and not a great ap. I’d like to go back and get my $2700 returned, but I’ll just vent here. ... show more

  • Excellent sound
I have a friend that has the Sonos system at home, so, I was able to hear this in action. It was such a surprise the amount a sound that this bar creates. It has made all of the listening, movies or music, so much better. You're paying for the quality.
