6 STAR REVIEW SUMMARY: Ok, I know there have been a lot of positive reviews, but I have to add one more OUTSTANDING 6 STAR. It's really important for us to have high quality, no-glitch music in our creative process at the Frank and Sandy Show...and well...every other solution we tried was not helping us get to that serene place where Pavarotti's "O Sole Mio" would not get clipped by one of our video uploads, my neighbor's dirty wifi signal, the other neighbor's baby monitor, or gremlins in space! NOW ENTER SONOS: Our initial setup: SONOS PLAY 5 and THE SUB and the BOOST THE SOUND: We have clocked 20+ HOURS out of the box with NOT ONE glitch of any kind. The sound quality? Ok, folks, we're really, really picky. We are video and sound folks so we hear every nasty thing a sound box will do to the poor music being fed it. I'm shocked at the quality. This rivals high end wired systems costing thousands of dollars in our opinion....and blows away any wireless system we've tried by great leaps and bounds. The highs are crisp, the lows are jaw dropping. It feels like silk and shattered any of our wildest expectations. INSTALLATION: SHOCKING! I had the whole thing up in about 20 minutes including unboxing. Sonos auto found my itunes stuff and loaded it. Updating itunes again? No problem, just tell sonos to update. It even found my playlists any time I updated or added ...automatically. Sandy said, "I can't believe it..I thought for sure you'd be at all day trying to get it to work (like everything else). No, instead I was listening to intensely great sound all day instead! CONTROL FREAK: Forgive me but itunes's interface sends me over the edge at how weird it has become. I can never seem to remember where anything is or how to get it to do what I want the first time. Conversely, however, I found the Sonos control app for Windows so exceptionally easy, intuitive and simple that I simply an in control freak heaven. Of course, i can also run it on my ipad and iphone. THE CONNECTION ADVICE: So here's the deal. You can definitely use this without bridge or boost, but you will always be at the mercy or your router (which is probably provided by your internet service guys and largely doing whatever it wants to....not what you want to...hence...glitches, ugh). We've had other wireless systems and to no fault of their own, our super high powered ATT 1G router still flailed and failed sporadically...especially when other folks showed up around us with their WiFi devices. We live in downtown Austin, and during SXSW we just almost wanted to cry it glitched so much (gazillion phones, wifi signals, etc). And the same with every other convention. And this past weekend with SONOS there was monster convention as well: BUT NOT ONE GLITCH! It is running today and also perfect. Now we are using BOOST which is the $99 adder, but gives you the strongest network you can. I also pushed and pulled over 1,000 songs around the network and the network ran flawlessly fast...while Pavarotti sang, Sinatra performed, or Chicago Jazz played happily through it all....did I mention...with NOT ONE GLITCH? Now if we plugged this only into our lovely router, without BOOST...I would still worry, but then again, the intelligent design of the MESH network might even work on it. But we simply were done gambling and just went to the max. We have another SONOS play 5...if only it could find it's way here (lost in a snow storm). And we'll be adding 3's as well..... I'll update then over time. SHOCKINGLY GREAT! Frank 4/7/15 UPDATE: 7 STAR REVIEW :) We have two sonos play 5's, a sonos play 3, and sonos sub, boost, and sonos apps on our iphones, PC's, etc. Near flawless. I'm sitting here listening to Ray Orbison playing on Deezer Elite (integrated into Sonos - subscription based) and I swear it feels like he's standing right next to me here in the room. Tons of hours played. Glitch free. Even made it through SXSW (we live downtown Austin) and even with the millions of WiFi devices and extra repeaters....not a peep or pop....just rock solid connections and sound. One really great thing is unlike other solutions, once you tell Sonos "go play this Deezer playlist or set of songs", you can even turn your phone off and it still works. And even if your iphone app was on, then you can walk in the other room and you can flip on another Sonos controller app and you can control it (no need to go shutdown other sonos controller apps)...yeah, ran into that pain in the butt with other systems over and over. There is not a day we don't sing Sonos it's praises. I hope they never put a Windows operating system in it !!! ha ha ha! Frank

We are currently in a rental house with a new puppy, but really needed to update our sound system. It's our main form of entertainment. All we previously had was a receiver, CD player and one set of speakers in our living room. We really didn't want to put a lot of time and cost into running a system in a rental. Nor could we have a lot of wires running everywhere, with our new pup around. So, I started researching wireless speakers and the Sonos popped up. Initially,the cost seemed excessive, but I kept going back due to the great reviews and the apparent ease of installation and future expansion. I must admit that the idea of being able to play free internet radio stations from all over the world was rather tempting as well. I am so glad we finally decided to go with the Sonos! The sound is amazing and set-up was just as easy as described. We love having so many options of what to listen to and being able to have all the household speakers synced. This is going to be a very basic review, just because I hope that we aren't the only non-tech savvy people in the world that want good sound in their home. What we ended up getting: 1 Kindle Fire 1 Bridge 1 Connect 1 Play 5 1 Play 3 1 Bridge 1 Connect Yes, the first item is a Kindle Fire. I see no reason at all to pay $350 for the Sonos Controller. I suppose if you are going to have a huge, complex system it might be worth it, but for $200 you can get a Kindle Fire and just download the app. The Kindle does a perfect job of handling all of the components and can still be used for many other things. Yeah, basically I used this as an excuse to get a Fire! All of the software, cords and plugs needed were included with the Sonos items. (Except the Sonos App for Kindle Fire. It's available in the Amazon App store as a free download.) Once I loaded the software on my computer and Kindle I was able to use either to set up the system in no time at all. Trust me, it walks you through everything (which is only a very few steps) and there is really no way to get confused. I spent more time looking for outlets and deciding where to place items than I did getting everything online. The Bridge was hooked up first, by plugging it into our router. We needed this item because we were not going to place a Play 3 or Play 5 in the same room as our router. If you want to place a speaker next to your router, the Bridge is not necessary. Basically, you just need one item to plug into your router for the household wireless to work. All of the components get added in a similar manner. The Bridge has one button you need to press within two minutes and the speakers/connect have you press the "Mute" and "Volume +". Basically, that's it, other than naming your speakers (Such as Kitchen, Den, etc.) and then grouping them together if desired. We grouped everything in about 3 minutes and now have the same music playing throughout the house. We both love the fact that the volumes in different rooms can be controlled independently through the Kindle App. or on the speakers themselves if you don't want to go find your tablet. Our Connect was used to hook up to our existing receiver and speakers in the living room. Again, it couldn't have been simpler. Just a two plugs in the Connect for Audio Out and two in the back of the receiver for Audio In. Finding music is a breeze. We're still checking out the free radio stations and finding new favorites. What a pleasure to be able to tune into Irish radio when we are in the mood for Celtic music and then be able to hop over to Jamaica if we want to listen to some Reggae! Now, to get down to the real stars of the show. The sound in the Play 5 is absolutely amazing! We have it on the bar in our large kitchen/laundry area and we truly can't get over the quality. It is also easy to move, so we can put it in a window when we are working in the back yard. It's a heavy, expensive little "box" but truly is worth the investment. We've also been very pleased with the Play 3 in the bedroom. I think I would have been quite happy with the sound IF I hadn't heard the Play 5 first. The Play 3 is perfect for a smaller room and to provide quiet background music for sleeping. It's fine to crank up when I go in there to clean or something as well. However, the Play 5 is well worth the extra $100 if sound quality is of real importance to you. We also both love the fact that we can continue to add to this system, easily, as we can afford it. And it won't be a problem at all when we are ready to move again. I hope to eventually add several more Play 5's and Play 3's. The speakers can work either alone in a room, or you can use a pair and set them to play Left and Right for surround sound. I hope this was helpful!

Fact: I'm a 50+ yr. old audiophile. I am beginning to be left behind because I resist change. I still like physical mediums like CDS. I think speakers, in order to be considered proper, must be of a certain size and in no less than a stereo pair. And finally, prodigious amplification is one's assurance of projecting a glorious sound as long as the other components are worthy. The Sonos Play 5 flies in the face of all of this. First, most users will be feeding it wirelessly with something like their own iTunes library and a subscription service such as Spotify. This is already music at a disadvantage to an audiophile since someone (it must the folks called "they" because "they" know everything) has decided I can't hear some stuff so they thrown it out...plus, I didn't need to hear some other stuff, so it had to go too. Taking this less than wholesome sounding version of music and further compressing it so it can be sent wirelessly to an underpowered pseudo-stereo (i.e. MONO) speaker really sounds like just about the last word in ruining whatever pretension of high-fidelity one's music may once had. Why would anyone in their correct mind want such a horrible music solution? Well, it's Christmas 2013 and guess what my 29-yr. old daughter, the Doctor, wants the Sonos Play 5 from her mom and dad for her present. This presents a bit of a problem to a "know-it-all" audiophile. I mean, it's Christmas and a parent wants to give a present their child will really use and relish. So, I have to go against everything in audio I know to be true and right. I have to make it more convenient for my daughter to listen to that crap (i.e. Kayne West) she thinks is good music. In her defense since she has somehow lost her musical way (we used to listen to Zep, ELP, and Pink Floyd together) I guess no matter how poor the fidelity of the Sonos wireless system is Kayne can't sound much worse than he would if I heard him on Mark Levinson's personal home rig? Now, I've went through the phases of digust, disbelief, anger, denial, etc. and I'm ready to capitulate and buy my daughter's Christmas present as requested. First, there isn't a store in my town of Cullman, Alabama that has the Sonos 5 in-stock. I will have to drive to Birmingham or Huntsville which either way is an hour of my time and associated petrol cost in a hungry Audi V8 equipped blitzkrieg mobile (RS4). Ah, I'll see what Amazon has to offer in the way of the Sonos low-fi audio debacle...blah, blah, blah. Oh, not only can I have this travesty of aural pleasure complete with the needed "Sonos Bridge" in a package deal I'm actually going to save substantial time and money! Yep, Amazon Prime free and fast delivery to the front, plus this package deal with an Amazon credit back makes it almost like getting the Sonos Bridge for free. Excellent. Now, here's where I have to get humble and eat some crow. I just visited my daughter at her condo post Christmas 2013 for the first time and I saw the diminutive Sonos Play 5 speaker along with the mostly invisible Sonos Bridge. Her boyfriend had graciously gifted her the Sonos subwoofer than looks like a glossy square O. She showed me her iPad and had Spotify running. She told me to select whatever I wanted to listen to. I chose some Big Star, Led Zeppelin, Paul Simon, and of all things Trapeze (Mel Galley, Glen Hughes, and that classic LP Medusa). My jaw dropped when I heard the first refrains of Big Star's "In The Street". It didn't sound like dog feces! It sounded fairly articulate and nuanced. But wait, how? I mean it appeared the speaker was too little and being a single speaker, mono? Hey, isn't this stuff compressed repeatedly and suffers the equivalent of a multiple rape and pillage? But still, it sounds...Well, it sounds pretty nice and I'm totally blown away by the convenience and the unobtrusive size. I always marveled at how The Bose Corporation packaged sound just good enough to make the masses ooh and ah over it. I mean it sounded good enough and now it was coming out of these small speakers. Well, this is the new extension of that and I'm kinda surprised Bose missed the next revolution and let Sonos leap-frog them. True...For a dyed-in-the-wool audiophile like me I'm not going to ever have a Sonos Play 5 as my main system, but I'm admitting I think it is more than good enough to be a young condo/apartment dwellers main system and I stand absolutely admitting I was wrong about Sonos in general: this stuff does have some pretension of music fidelity. It does sound mightily impressive given it's diminutive size and wireless nature. It does change the audio paradigm as we get further away from physical media, our own stored music, and head into that stupidly named "cloud". I am glad I bought my daughter the Sonos 5 system from Amazon. I mention Amazon because of the combination of convenience and saving money was fantastic. I want to say a word about Amazon Prime. It's an excellent service. It doesn't always work out as 2-day due to circumstances beyond the control of Amazon, but it has always been within three days and I find that is acceptable in all but extreme instances. Next, for me at least I didn't have to drive an hour with associated risks and costs. I appreciate that. Finally, the package from Amazon was "right-on" for me because I needed The Sonos Bridge too and the package deal pretty much netted me a free Bridge. Here's the last nail, and it's the controversial one. I am a merchant serving my local town retailing shoes. I rightly collect sales tax on every sale which in turn does help my community. This is as it should be, but like most things over many years the right those who we give power to have abused that right and now in most communities sales taxes serve to cumulatively oppress everyone and particularly those who may least be able to afford it. That's an issue for each community which is kind of being addressed as most communities have close to 10-percent sales tax which pretty much is a brick-wall point where all but the most rational see if anymore is added it becomes so over-the-top oppressive and ridiculous that, at least for now, there is a slowing down of this type of abusive taxation. Back to me being a merchant...I should on one hand demand Amazon to collect sales tax on every place in the known universe. BUT, I DON'T! I will refer you back to what I have mentioned as sales tax has become oppressive and Americans are at the limit of the sum-total of what is bearable tax-wise. Therefore I see Amazon's tax-free sales as one of the last bastions of the freedom that made the founding hoards come from Europe and build this country. I hope Amazon can keep up this option that I know is far from perfect, but I'd rather have an ounce of imperfect freedom than a hint of oppression. I love shopping with Amazon as they respect me as a customer. In the case of this Sonos 5 reviewed here I am more than happy with my purchased from Amazon and recommend if you need any of the Sonos products to give Amazon at least a comparative look.

I live in a crowded urban environment in San Francisco, with 3 story, multi=unit buildings all around. When Sonos works, I LOVE it (despite the absurdly limited controller software, see below) but it is HUGELY unreliable. I can't count on it to play at all. When it does play, it won't play in all the rooms I chose. Sometimes one speaker will play, but the other speaker in the same room won't play. And cut outs are constant. The problems continued even when I invested in a Boost unit. I've spent hours with the Sonos staff fixing problems, and they usually do get the system working: they are very patient. But a few hours later, nothing works. I was hoping having music throughout the house would relax me. Intead, after spending thousands of dollars and hours on the phone the system is a huge stressor. It shouldn't be this way. Finally, after multiple calls, a technician admitted that I might actually have a problem and should provide hard ethernet connections (!) to at least some of my units. Be prepared for that eventuality; while most of my wireless devices are unfazed by wireless interference, SONOS...well, it's not pretty. Another problem turned up when I used an Airport Express to extend my wireless network in my house: I wired the apple Extreme and the Apple Express together with an ethernet cable; that shut down Sonos entirely. I found a competent apple person (it took a few tries) who told me to set the extender in bridge mode. That's helped though now wireless isn't working all that well. Kinda maddening. Here are other problems you may encounter quite apart from the reliability issue. The interface is almost useless for classical music: you can search for an album and enter :Beethoven" you see only the title of the album and one artist: all other data is hidden so you can't see which album is which. Further, the controller stops working properly for large music libraries... (at a lower capacity than claimed, as it turns out. See it says you can have a certain number of songs, but in fact the limitation is in Gigabytes of music. Why not just say so, so users can plan properly?.) The controllers on tablets and phones are even worse; they are dedicated to showing album covers and titles but that's just about it. The interface with Spotify is a bit better: at least you can see tiny thumbnails of the album covers which lets you guess what record label you might be looking at. But does Sonos let you see anything but the album title, artist, and "song" title? Of course not... like Apple, Spotify thinks the history of music began in 1950. The notion that you might have multiple versions of the same piece of music (or a piece that consists of several tracks or more than one CD) just doesn't occur to them.

I'm not a review writer but I felt compelled to sing a few words of praise for Sonos. I ordered a Play:5 and a Sonos bridge about 6 weeks ago so I've had enough time to enjoy it and write something more than an initial-emotion review. This speaker was to be placed in an office that measures about 11x11 with 10 foot ceilings. Like others have said, the packaging was great and made you feel like you just paid for a quality item. I'm glad I read the reviews, however, because after owning a Play:5 and visiting Target's display I was sorely disappointed in the lack of full sound the Play:3 provides. I had been leaning toward the Play:3 due to the fact that Amazon was offering a free bridge with it's purchase. Today I noticed Target was (and still is) offering a free bridge with a purchase of either the Play:3 OR the Play:5...so take that into consideration if you're about to pull the trigger. Everyone that has seen the speaker is impressed with the quality of sound. It plays both loud and clear (which isn't always the case with cheaper products). Unfortunately I don't have another to test out the stereo capabilities of the software, but even the Play:3 and Play:5 together at Target sound quite a bit better than either one individually. I plan to purchase another Play:5 when the budget allows to install in the master bedroom. As for software, I was slightly disappointed in two regards, although I knew of the limitations when I ordered the speaker. In order to play music you must have whatever device you're using connected to the home network and if you want to stream from iTunes or any other media file it must come from a shared disk on your network. What this boils down to is that you cannot download an album from iTunes on your iPhone or iPad and immediately play through your Sonos player. You must first transfer the music to the shared disk (for me, I have an external HD connected to my network). Setting the HD up wasn't the easiest but a quick google query pulled up the appropriate Sonos page. Furthermore, you can only use the speaker if it's attached to the internet. Additionally, the speaker itself (or the bridge if you opted for one) must be directly plugged in to the network making it a dedicated home/work media device. It isn't something you can take camping with you and be the life of the party around the fire. Notwithstanding those limitations, the system is fantastic. Using my computer/iPhone/iPad as the controller works extremely well with the only irritation being when the iOS device goes to sleep and takes a second or two to reconnect to the network before you can control the speaker. I love being able to adjust the equalization of the device for when I want a little more or less bass. One great feature is streaming radio stations. Most radio stations broadcast online now and being able to listen to my local stations without worrying about FM signal is wonderful. On top of that, I can tune into radio stations all over the world and enjoy some of the more eclectic tunes I enjoyed while visiting other countries. On Christmas Eve I tuned into a station being broadcast from the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris--our family thought that was really cool. For the reviewers who have commented on the setup being difficult (or as one put it, "rocket science") all I can say is that they must lead relatively simple lives. The only trouble I found was when directing the Sonos system to the exact location on my network my shared storage device was. I'm fairly tech savvy but I'll admit without google pulling up the appropriate Sonos help thread I would have been irritated. From box to playing Pandora might have taken about 10 minutes including setting up the bridge. Hopefully this review can reiterate some of the better reviews I read and encourage others to enjoy this great product.

--THE SYSTEM-- If you are new to Sonos, read up on how it works before you jump in. To be brief it is a separate wireless network from your existing wifi. Unlike your wifi router each "node" or Sonos Component is a broadcaster, so whenever you place a new component in your home you expand out the network's range. Because it is a separate network it needs to be wired to your existing router to connect to the internet as well as the rest of your home network. You can do this at any node, but if none are convenient you can buy the Sonos Bridge (or get it free via promotion) to act as a new node that connects to your existing network. The sound system is controlled by applications that you download on your phone, tablet or computer. The Android application can connect via the Sonos network, but the rest will need to be connected to your network via Ethernet cable or existing wifi. --MY EXPERIENCE-- I set up a two zone system with a Play:3 in my bedroom and a Play:5 in my kitchen/living room. Setup was relatively quick and easy. I got the bridge and Play:5 set up in my bedroom with no problems, but when I went to move the Play:5 to the kitchen it could not re-connect. I quickly realized it was from interference at the bridge, which was right next to my computer tower and wifi-router. I cut the head off a nail and mounted the Bridge to the wall behind my monitors and the wireless connection has been great. Setting up the Play:3 was quite easy, and took only a few minutes while I was doing something else. I did have a few problems with my controllers needing to be reset and reconnect to the network, but I solved this by disabling a few odd DNS settings the were enabled on my Router. I never needed Sonos tech support, but by most accounts they are helpful. The music is great, the quality is quite good for this non-audiophile. One Play:5 should be able to fill most rooms for most people, the Play:3 is good for bedrooms or other small rooms. I have not had any of the drop-outs that most wireless sound systems have. That is because Sonos runs it own wireless network which won't be bogged down when other wireless devices start consuming data over your wifi network. Sonos is able to access the music on my computer quite well, I have about 10,000 songs and it is just fine, although some people have said they have trouble at 65,000 songs. The tune-in app works great for streaming radio stations, and Spotify premium (monthly fee) also gives a great selection of music and works flawlessly with the system. Selecting music, switching rooms to listen in, and the ease of the system has really let me enjoy music much more. --THE BAD-- Like I said earlier the Sonos network is basically a system of nodes that each broadcast their own wifi networks. That is great when you are playing music, but when it is idle each point consumes about 6.5W. This allows the system to start playing quickly when you want it to, but it comes at a high energy cost, especially for those with many components on their networks. These are marketed to be smart components, but they lack options for reducing energy consumption; Options that really don't require any extra hardware. Sonos could let you make the units sleep during times you know they wont be needed. If you did happen to need them while they sleep, a press of the button on the speaker could wake it up. Perhaps the most frustrating is that Sonos wants you to think you can not turn the wireless function off. You can; search google for "disable sonos wifi" the first non-Sonos result currently has the info. Sonos deletes any posts on their website that mention this. Some people have all or part of their Sonos components wired and don't need to be wasting energy, at least give them the option to do so, when it clearly is available. I really want to drop the rating more because of the energy and specifically the wifi toggle, but the rest of the system is so good that I left it at four stars. If Sonos gets their act together and stops ignoring their customers on this I would be glad to change it to 5.

After reviewing several options including the Sonos and Apple offerings, I centered on the Sonos based on feedback from reviewers of the platforms openness. I had already excluded the various bluetooth type speakers as I desired a wider set of capabilities including XM and other Internet radio options more directly running from the speaker. My next decision centered around the Play 5 or Play 3. The speaker is located in a fairly open room with 9 foot ceilings and hardwood floors. The Sonos 5 provides ample sound volume and decent base for the size. The 3 may have been adequate, but I appreciate richer fuller music. I have not noticed distortion even at higher volumes. Primary Benefits: -Relatively small size. I removed an older component audio system and stand speakers which I rarely used. This speaker system fits in roughly the same space as the tuner audio component and is less cluttered without separate speakers and wires. -Nice sound for the size. Being one speaker it does not have the greatest stereo separation, but with purchase of an additional speaker (of matching type) they can be paired for more traditional stereo separation. However for the use I find the sound perfectly fine. -Ease of connection and use. I plugged the power in, plugged a network cable in to the back (see more later on connection options), downloaded the app on my ipad and followed the simple steps on the apps screen. Took less than a couple minutes including downloading a software update to the speaker then I was up, listening to music on my ipad, and browsing internet radio stations within minutes. -Wide range of options including XM / Sirius internet radio channels (requires subscription), Pandora, Local radio stations easily accessible in a separate local station folder without having to go to their website (most the local radio stations in my area broadcast online and were listed i the Sonos App), the itunes library on any of my or my wife's iPhone / iPad or on my Computer. And many more options. -Supports connecting multiple devices and music libraries. I have my ipad, iphone as well as my wife's iphone connected through the Sonos App. If she is controlling the music via her phone, I can see what is playing, and have full control from my phone (limited to music on my phones library if I change from my phone). This created a little bit of a battle of each of us taking over and playing what we wanted to hear. -Super easy to use -Additional network jack for connecting additional device needing network connection. I didn't want to use or buy the bridge, and since I only have 1 network jack at the location where the speaker and my DirectTV DVR is located, I was able to plug the speaker into the network jack, and the DirectTV DVR into the back of the Play 5. The speaker also serves as a switch "sharing" its network connection with the other device plugged into it. Cons: -As mentioned not the largest stereo separation or deep bass, but very good for size of speaker - and I didn't buy this for the highest quality sound to please an audiophile. -A little pricey. I didn't need the Bridge but I noticed if purchased directly on the Sonos website they bundled the bridge with the speaker for no additional cost. I didn't see this as an option on Amazon when I purchased. -The ios app is good, but could use some refinement. They are not consistent in navigation. Sometimes there is a back button, sometimes no back button and you swipe to change to the prior screen. Bottom Line - if you are considering this, buy it. I am also glad I went with the Play 5 rather than the Play 3. I expect I will be getting a play 1 or 3 for other rooms in the future.

I was dissuaded from buying the S5 initially because of the price tag of the S5 and other Sonos components, but after getting over that hump and actually going to my local retailer to look at a live demo, I was sold. I bought a Zone Bridge (a must) at the local store and I bought the S5 from Amazon - it arrived in a couple of days. I'd say from out of the box to listening to music took about 3-5 minutes - it was effortless. Originally I was planning on buying the S5 and then adding a ZP90 and ZP120 (for outdoor patio speakers). I've changed my thinking though, and just bought a second S5 in lieu of the ZP90. Reasoning - the S5 sounds as good or better than my current receiver and speakers, and it's hard to beat the fact that the S5 is always on standby and ready to go without having to hit the power button on a seperate component. I am still adding the ZP120, but at about $500 per zone, It will take me a year or so to build up to all of the zones that I would like. Key features that I love: 1: Sonos software allows me to make both of my S5 units work as a true stereo pair. 2: Alarm Clock Feature - I can set the Sonos system to start playing from my music library, internet music, or as I currently have it set to stream my favorite local radio station. I can program what time I want it to start, and select the days that I want it to start at that time, and even how long to stay on before shutting off automatically. 3: Sleep Timer - Basically same as above, I can set it to listen to my favorite stuff, then turn off after I've fallen asleep. 4: Internet Music. I originally bought the S5(s) to listen to my music library as well as Pandora. I recently re-discovered Napster. For $60 I bought an annual subscription which included 60 downloadable songs which I would then own, as well as access to tons of albums and songs which I can add to the sonos que and listen to whenever I want (vs. Pandora, which doesn't give you specific song selection, just general artist/catagory choice). In summary, this is one of those purchases that makes me smile every time I use it. It is well made, easy to use, and sounds awesome - well worth it!
