  • Better than HomePods. Near-perfect. Setup easy enough for even the most tech-challenged.
Color: Black Size: Pack of 1
So I bought two Sonos Era 100 SL speakers. These are about 6 inch tall by 4 inch diameter cylinders, and look OK, like typical tech. SL means “No Microphones” — I got these because I run HomeKit and not Google or Amazon home stuff. If you have Google or Amazon, you want the "Sonos Era 100" speakers instead. The packaging is A+ (Apple’s is A++). You need to run the Sonos app on your iPhone to do anything. I set them up in 15 minutes. The Sonos app is perfect at setting them up, and the only part where it didn’t hold my hand was that you have to set each speaker up one at a time, and then mash the obvious “Make Stereo Pair” button. (It didn’t detect two speakers and set them both up and make them a stereo pair automagically, which would have been “chef’s kiss” perfection, but it was easy-peasy. Almost no thought required.) It took a search of Sonos’s help site to figure out how to add them to HomeKit, because Apple Home is almost helpful but not quite. (You hit “Add Accessory” and then you hit “More Options” instead of scanning something, and then, scrolled off the bottom of the pop-up windowlet (YAY) is a speaker that looks greyed out, but is not. Click it, and it’s part of HomeKit. This is an Apple problem, not a Sonos problem.) Note that the speakers are not HomeKit Hubs, which means that you need something else (a phone, iPad, AppleTV, or HomePod) to be the hub. Without the hub, everything stops. Once it’s connected, it works perfectly, but for one thing: You have to say “Hey Siri, play <whatever> IN THE BEDROOM” (Siri/HomeKit defaults to the HomeKit hub speaker, which is currently in the bathroom.) But saying “Play Everywhere” works good, all of my speakers (kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room (a Denon amp, also HomeKit compatible), bedroom (Sonos)) all play in unison and work good. Sound is better than HomePod mini, and not as bass-boomy as HomePod Original Recipe. Really nice sound. I can now sit at my computer in the bedroom, shout instructions to Siri in the bathroom, and stuff works, except that I might not be able to hear Siri’s response, and of course, Siri mis-recognizes stuff pretty often. So I can whip out my iPhone and talk to that. For shame, Apple, Watch cannot do "Play <stuff> in the Bedroom" and doesn't pass it off to a hub that can. I am delighted at the overall experience, and it’s worth the extra money to get better sound from speakers that presumably aren’t going to self destruct as soon as the warranty is over. (I'm looking right at you, HomePod minis.) ... show more

  • Truly impressive sound
Color: White Size: Pack of 1
The Sonos Era 100 SL is a solid speaker choice. It delivers sound that is far richer than its size would have you believe it could produce. The packaging is very solid, even if your box was damaged in shipping it would not affect the speaker. The cord is longer that I would have expected, that is good. It is a very pretty design, and the white makes is look high class. Setup is stupid easy. Plug it in, open the Sonos app and it will detect the new speaker in under 2 minutes. Follow the prompts and it will setup your speaker, and allow you to update it to the newest firmware. No need to register your speaker, this is done when you set it up. The only thing better than this speaker, is TWO of them! Really rich sound, add a second one and you can either fill the room with sound, or split them into stereo left right channels. Highly recommend. Also, the Refurbished speakers are just as nice. And they look as new as well. ... show more

  • Amazing Sound Quality
Color: Black Size: Pack of 1
I love this speaker. I bought it to use with my record player, and it sits next to my TV so when I am not using it for my records, It syncs with my Sonos Beam and is used as a side speaker. It sounds just as good as any other Sonos speaker, and I am impressed with how easy it was to use.

  • Convinced this DIY'r that sometimes, plug and play is the right answer.
Color: White Size: Pack of 1
Love this new version of the Era. I had no need for the voice interface, and this was perfect for adding a quality music source that is moisture tolerant to a covered, screened porch on our existing Sonos network. Sound quality is excellent for a single source device. As I was testing, I found myself wanting to sit there and listen to more of my music collection, which is always a positive indicator of sound quality. I'm a very frugal, DIY person, and was prepared to use an on-hand Sonos Connect plus a small amp and some ceiling or wall mounted outdoor speakers, which I have done for other outdoors Sonos situations. That project would have cost about what the Era 100 SL cost. Instead, saved me time, avoided drilling holes and crawling around the attic. Basically a plug and play solution, and Sonos' software interface for adding an Era 100 SL to an existing Sonos network is about as smooth and friction free as it can get. It looks great. It feels like quality. It sounds great. It's easy to use. Hard to go wrong. ... show more

  • Worth it
Color: Black Size: Pack of 1
The Sonos era SL was simple to set up, it came with an easy to understand user-guide and app to help you find and install it quickly. We use it in our office and it connected to my desktop and iPhone fairly simple, and the sound it amplifies throughout is incredible! Just one little one filled the entire room, so I would say it’s a decent value for the money. Sure there are cheaper options out there but none have the ability to adjust simultaneously from multiple sources and have different areas. ... show more

  • Great Compact Speaker
Color: White Size: Pack of 1
The Sonos Era 100 SL has a clean look and fits nicely on a shelf or small table. The sound feels full for its size, with clear audio for music and everyday listening. I like that it works with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, which makes it easy to use in different ways. Overall, it is a solid compact speaker for a simple home audio setup. ... show more

  • Awful! Save your money!
Color: White Size: Pack of 1
Sound quality is great but everything else is a mess! Constant connection drops even with a string network signal. Need to factory reset and update firmware all of the time. Devices not recognized by the Sonos app. Low volume. For this kind of money you would expect a top notch product. Instead I’d have to mess with the system for at least and hour to get it working. The next day everything would be fine. ... show more

  • Easy set up and great sound.
Color: White Size: Pack of 1
I never knew Sonos offered products that come without voice communication capability disabled. All the SL means it doesn’t have the ability to communicate with you. It saves about $30. I never use anything that can possibly hear me.
