Isn't it a pain when you notice a low tire miles from a gas station? And then when you finally stop, there's a line, the air machine is out of order, or worse, they charge you for air? Just get this little device and you can top up your tires right from your driveway or wherever you notice the low tire! It has both battery options (rechargeable with USB-C port) and cord so you can plug it into your car (a lifesaver if you forgot to charge it after the last use). I found it very easy to use. I looked at the driver's side panel for my car's specific tire pressure recommendations, then attached the device (the part that connects to the tire air valve has a little lever to open/close). I turned it on, made sure it was in car mode, set my pressure, and let it do its thing. It turns off automatically when it reaches the set pressure, which is handy. It's also extremely versatile - with settings and adaptors for bikes, balls, and all sorts of inflatable objects. All the parts store inside the thoughtful bag that's included. So glad I got this!

I drive on a lot of gravel roads resulting in many flat tires. I try to always have a small 12 volt charger in my car, but the electric chord is always a pain. When I saw this rechargeable battery air compressor I ordered one. Here are my thoughts on the SOMOLUX Tire Inflator Portable Air Compressor: PROS: 1) Small and compact allowing one to keep it in the car without taking up much space. 2) It does not get hot on the outside of the unit. I have had some that get real hot when pumping up a car tire and even so hot it melted a hole through the air hose ruining the unit. This one stays cool on the outside casing. 3) Actually this little unit puts out quite a bit of volume of air in a short amount of time. I put 5 PSI into my car tire in just under 90 seconds. If this rate holds true a flat tire would take about 9 minutes to get to 35 PSI. For a small battery operated unit I was quite impressed. Not the fastest I have used, but much better than some I have owned in the past. 4) It is pretty easy to use. Just a few buttons you have to remember to get it up and running. CONS: 1) The air hose is really short measuring only 11 inches from the pump to the center of the valve stem attachment. If the valve stem on my car tire is towards the top then the pump dangles from the hose and cannot reach to the ground. A little annoying. 2) The directions do not explain what the five modes do. There are five modes: Car, Motorcycle, Bicycle, Ball, and Custom. Nothing tells you what it does different if you switch modes. It is a small air compressor so why would one need to change modes? I like knowing what changes are happening and why one would choose a particular setting over another. 3) There are several different units of measuring the pressure. Of course in the USA we use PSI, but it is not easy to remember how to change between units. You have to press and hold the button that looks like a recycle emblem to be able to change the units and if you just tap that button it will switch between modes. I have started the unit up several times and the units had changed and each time I had to go back to the directions to figure out what I needed to do to change units. 4) The pump is small but a little heavy so when you carry it around in the soft fabric bag it is easy to accidently turn on the unit or turn on the light. I have had it in my car a couple of times now where I have noticed a glowing light to find out that while carrying the unit I accidently turned on the flashlight. 5) These units get used sporadically, so I am concerned about the battery staying charged in a car. We get down well below zero degrees F at night in the winter, so I am concerned about the battery being full and ready when you actually need to use the unit. Time will tell but it is a concern I have at this time. The unit does come with a 12 volt plug in so it should work even if the batter is dead, but if you always have to go that route it defeats the purpose of have a cordless unit. Concluding Thoughts: This unit has some great benefits and a couple of issues that could be easily resolved on a future upgrade. But, even with the few faults I really like this unit and if it will keep a charge and be ready to go when the tire light comes on, this unit will certainly be worth owning.

I used it to inflate two full size mountain bicycles (total 4 tires). It was easy to set up the desired pressure turn on and inflate. Still shows full charge after using on both bikes. The hose gets hot especially the connector to the compressor itself. Easy to attach to the stem, but a bit hard to remove. At one point I let the compressor hang from the stem. It was light enough and the grip was good enough that it completed the process without any problems. I also use it to top off pressure in our 2 SUVs so a good tool to have around. Definitely a good tool to keep in your car for long trips. Especially if your car is one without a spare...

You never know when you are going to be stuck with a flat tire or need to pump something up with air, I keep this in my car at all times and it's been really handy. Especially during the winter when tires and things seem to lose lots of air pressure. Would recommend to anyone!
