Not impressed with this sprayer, and expected more from a Solo product. Among the problems, the nozzle cracked after one season, the connections in the wands come loose from the pulse vibrations and then leak, and the controls are not well positioned. Would not buy again.

I bought this for my farm this year based on a recommendation of a fellow farmer that has had this exact sprayer for years without any problems. I've had Solo products in the past and they have always worked great but this is their top of the line motorized backpack sprayer with a nice Honda engine. So, I used it four times over the course of a couple of months without issues. Spraying on my fifth time I started to hear a squeal from the engine area and no pressure. I figured something is broken. Stopped immediately and contacted Solo HQ to see what my options are. After talking to a tech for a while, he said it sounded like a broken shaft from the engine to the pump. He said to send it back and they would turn it around "in a day or two". I didn't need to spray again for a couple of weeks so I figured it would be worth the cost ($100) to UPS the sprayer to Virginia (I am on the west coast). Two months later and no word from Solo. Their 800 line seems like it's disconnected and their regular line is just busy all the time. Now I am out $800 and can't spray... Update 8/26/2020 Almost 3 months since I sent it in for service. Solo is still dragging the feet on getting this fixed. Nobody can seem to answer my questions about when it will be repaired. Someone with that knowledge is always out of the office or busy. Update 10/1/2020 I finally got the sprayer back from Solo more than 3 months after I sent it in. There was no communication it just showed up on my doorstep one day. Unfortunately, the growing season was over and I didn't need this sprayer until the summer of 2021. I would never buy anything this expensive from Solo again. Worthless as a company.

Excellent after I ordered more extension wand otherwise useless because the original wand just misty spray,seller claims can be reached for more than 10 ft,the reality is just less than 1 ft.However w/ new extension wand that I have to pay almost $80.00 more that I can use it for reach up to 10 - 15 ft./

This sprayer works great for exterior power spraying of homes and business for pest control. Would have many great applications in lawn care as well. Easy to use and durable

Bought this to spray my property for ticks. The nozzle it comes with is useless, puts out very little, and it's not compatible with any other brands of nozzles.

I bought a Solo backpack "air-blast" sprayer for applying agricultural oil and insecticide to my citrus trees (70 trees) about 5 years ago. It has always been annoying to use - due to poor design. I could not run it with fully open choke or the engine would die; the choke would vibrate fully open or closed while I was using it, and you cannot reach it while wearing it, so the engine would slow and then stall while using it. There were no directions for adjusting any of the setting screws. Only an authorized service agent should do it. Try to find one. Also, the gasoline cap has always leaked - impossible to stop. But today was the worst. After loading it up with gas and spray, I realized that the spray tank had cracked where the feeder hose screwed it, and spray gushed over me and killed a big spot in my lawn. This after just 5 years of using it about 2 hours a year. If you want to be drenched in poison and suffer many other annoyances of poor design, then this is the unit for you.
