  • Fast, Easy, and Reliable
I just received my SOLIS TAG today and wanted to test it out right away. As a doctoral student, having reliable internet is really important since I’m always working from different places. Setup was quick, it connected within minutes, and the connection was stable the whole time I used it. I also love how compact it is because it fits easily in my bag without taking up any space. So far, I’m really happy with it, and I can already tell it’s going to be something I use all the time. If you need reliable internet while you’re on the go, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try. ... show more

  • This Solis Tag is a good portable 4g wifi Hotspot.
I work from home and I want to have a backup internet connection that I can use when my main connection is down. Something like this that I don't have to pay a monthly fee for if I don't want to is just what I need. They do have monthly plans available but you can also buy only the amount of data you need for a flat fee. This device came with 30gb of data that I can use immediately plus I bought a set of day passes to go with it. You can purchase data through the nicely designed app or you can use the website to buy it. I used the website to pay for it then put the code I received into the app so that it would be applied to my account. There was a sale on data going on at the time and you could see the discounted prices only on the website and not on the app for some reason. This is the one criticism I have about the service. It doesn't make sense to me to have sales on the website but keep the full prices in the app. This Solis Tag has a single usb-c port to plug in a power source so I used one of my small 5000mah portable chargers for power. I have a small travel router that I connected to the Solis Tag's wifi network then I plugged in my work computer into the travel router's Ethernet port. After 6 hours of using the Solis internet connection I used about 500mb of data and the portable charger that was plugged into the Solis only decreased by 40% during that time. So it really doesn't take a lot of juice to power the Solis Tag. Since this is a 4g device and not 5g I expected the speeds to be slow. I ran a speed test with my phone connected to the Solis Tag's wifi and I got 13.9mbps down and 5.46 up. That's actually not bad considering I was only getting 2 bars out of 4 from the 4g network. Data on my work PC was slow because of this so I moved the Solis closer to the window and that helped a lot with the signal strength. So far, I'm very happy with this Solis Tag portable hot spot. It's small and can be powered by just about anything and it's works great for my use case. ... show more

  • Wifi WHEREVER
I am a Vine Verified Reviewer, but that doesn't mean that I'm here just to shill and whisper sweet nothings for free product. I only choose that which I am quite knowledgeable about, and only give my truthiest of truths. So with that in mind, let's dig in! Having a little bit of backup peace of mind when it comes to internet connectivity in this online world is always nice. This bad boy has proven to be a useful companion. Global data wherever y you are. Nice. That means connectivity when your phone can't be counted on. Nice and portable, small size and super easy to use. I don't travel outside the country, but if I did I would feel taken care of. Currently it is used to give a vehicle Wi Fi and location tracking wherever. ... show more

  • Convenient Portable WiFi Without a SIM Card or Built-In Battery
The Solis Tag is an interesting option for anyone who wants portable WiFi without dealing with a traditional SIM card or another battery-powered device that needs to stay charged. I especially like the USB-C powered design. Since there is no internal battery to maintain, I can simply connect it to a compatible power source when I need it. Setup is relatively straightforward, and I appreciate the convenience of not having to install or swap physical SIM cards. The ability to automatically connect through available carrier networks is particularly useful for travel. Having support across 140+ countries and access to multiple carriers makes this much more appealing than relying entirely on public WiFi while away from home. The included data is also a nice way to get started. The listing includes 1GB of monthly data along with 30GB of global data, although I recommend carefully reviewing the current terms regarding included data, activation, expiration, and any additional data plans so you know exactly what is available for your intended use. Because this device depends on cellular network availability, connection quality and speed can naturally vary based on location and which network is available. I wouldn't expect identical performance everywhere, especially when traveling between different regions or countries. I also think the no-battery design has both an advantage and a tradeoff. I don't have to remember to charge another device, but the hotspot does need to remain connected to USB-C power while I'm using it. For me, that's manageable with a power bank, laptop, vehicle USB-C connection, or wall adapter. The compact size makes it convenient to keep in a travel bag, backpack, or even with my charging accessories. I can see it being especially useful for international travel, road trips, or as a backup connection when regular WiFi isn't available. ... show more

  • Got me connected to WiFi quickly and easily.
This is a very slick little device. It allows you to access WiFi from pretty much anywhere. If you don't have a hotspot in your phone, and don't have access to public WiFi, this thing could be your savior. From taking it out of the box until my laptop was connected to this SOLIS Tag, the total time was approximately five minutes. This included setting up my SOLIS account, so in future it should go even faster. I like the fact that there's no on/off switch. Connect it to a power source. It turns itself on automatically and starts looking for Wi-Fi. A light blinks until it connects to a Wi-Fi source, and then the light becomes solid. Tell your laptop or phone where to connect, and you are in. The Tag's password is printed right on the back of it, so nothing to remember or to lose. Once my laptop was connected through the tag, I was able to check email, scroll, and do everything that I can do through my normal Wi-Fi connection. It worked like a charm. It comes with 1 GB of free Wi-Fi per month, which apparently is for life. In the big scheme of things, 1 GB is not all that much. But if you only use this for emergencies, you should be fine. If 1 GB Is never going to be enough, there are packages of larger amounts of connectivity that you can buy through SOLIS. I don't know the general price of Wi-Fi, but the rates look reasonable to me. All in all, for a way to get connected to the internet when you don't have other options, this should work for you. ... show more

  • Handy reliable WiFi hotspot with 1 gig per month free for life of the device
Very cool item. I got this Solis Tag WiFi Hotspot as an emergency device. I live in a rural area where in some parts of town, reception is spotty. This unit comes with 1gig of data per month - for the life of the device - at no extra charge, which makes it a fantastic value. It also includes 30Gb of global data. Now, granted, 1g/month for life may not seem like a lot but it is enough for 15-20 hours of internet browsing on an iPhone without media or a 30 -60 minute Zoom call, depending on resolution. So, for fill-in use when I need a hotspot to connect my iPad that does not have cellular - this has worked for me. Sometimes I do not want to use my iPhone as a hotspot. And yes, you can buy a data plan from Solis if you want to use it routinely. The manufacturer claims it works in all major US cities and 140+ countries. I can tell you from experience, it woks up and down the west coast - in Seattle and other Washington state cities, Portland, Los Angeles, San Francisco. New York, Washing D.C. and in Western Canada. In the locations I have listed, connectivity was easy and speed was very good. to fast. It is USB-C powered from a lap top or power brick and requires no batteries. The USB-C cable is included. It is app controlled and easy to use. The UI for the iPhone version of the app is easy to navigate. The app installed easily and works well. You can purchase more data as you go from the app without losing the 1G free per month for life. We are happy to recommend this item ... show more

  • Outstanding Mobile Hotspot
Really good compact hotspot. So a unit itself is compact easy to use and used 4G LTE for connectivity. Speeds may vary, depending upon how the coverage is, but where I am and where I travel a lot. I get pretty good speeds with this. It’s extremely easy to use. It does not have a battery built into it. It runs on a USB-C cable, but you do need the power brick in order to use it. I find connecting it to a laptop that USB-C port powers it just fine. What’s great about this unit is it comes with data already included you get 30 GB of global data. But you also get 12 GB of data that you can use for a full year and then it replenished it itself again on a consistent basis. Of course you can buy more if you need to but for the amount of travel that I do 12 GB of data for a year is plenty for me. I also found out that you can power this from a USB power bank. As long as the power bank has usb type c port it will work just fine and it does not use a lot of power. The display is easy to read and tells you what your connection status is and how good of a connection that you have. Overall value for the money on this is fantastic for what you get. This can be used in numerous countries with numerous carriers and it works right out of the box overall, I’m extremely pleased with it. It does an excellent job. I have stable connections and the 12gb of free data every year for life is pretty awesome. This is a fantastic mobile hotspot. ... show more

  • Convenient Travel Hotspot That Eliminates Battery Worries
This is a clever little travel accessory, especially if you frequently travel internationally or just want a simple backup internet connection. One of the biggest advantages is that it doesn't have an internal battery. Instead, it draws power directly from a USB-C port, so I never have to remember to charge another device before heading out. I simply plug it into my phone, power bank, laptop, or USB-C charger, and it's ready to go. Setup was straightforward, and I liked not having to deal with purchasing a local SIM card or changing network settings. The hotspot connected quickly, and the automatic carrier switching is a nice feature when traveling through areas with varying coverage. The compact size is another plus. It's small enough to leave in a backpack or laptop bag without taking up any meaningful space, making it easy to bring along just in case it's needed. My only minor criticism is that because it relies on an external USB-C power source, it isn't quite as convenient if you want to place the hotspot somewhere away from your device for the best signal. Also, while the included monthly data is a nice bonus, heavier users will likely need to purchase additional data, so it's worth understanding the available plans before relying on it as your primary internet connection. Some of the plans can be rather pricey especially if you plan on streaming large files globally. Overall, this is a well-designed, portable hotspot that's particularly appealing for travelers. The battery-free design, simple setup, and ability to connect in multiple countries make it a practical solution that's easy to keep on hand whenever you need reliable internet access. ... show more
