I had a couple construction projects I'd been working on that for which I'd hoped to get a solar fountain, as opposed to running it off electricity. The first fountain I tried also did exactly what it said it would do regarding flow and water lift, but turned out to not be quite enough for the outdoor evaporative cooler I was building. This fountain - with a little more juice, more solar power capacity, higher water lift, and more GPH, fit the bill just perfectly for me. Super easy to assemble right out of the box. Intuitive as to construction. Made well enough to endure a few summers out in the blazing sun. As I noted in my other review, we're not powering the Bellagio Fountains here, or planning for a lifetime of solar fountain-ing, but I think at least three years of use, minimum, could be your yield. Maybe more. If you keep it clean of debris, clean of calcification, you may get more years out of your fountain. I think I must be living on a farm, given how many projects are ongoing at any given time around here, so I may not be as diligent as you, but I still expect 3 years, minimum with my slightly neglectful attitude (it's not neglect as much as overwhelm). Makes pretty spray patterns, if you like. Remember you're going to need to install where you can string the solar panel to get some sun, even if your fountain is in the shade. The cable should let you do that unless your entire yard is shaded, and if so, the dog and I will be right over and staying until late September or so, because that sounds really nice. We'll even build you a solar powered evap cooler, but it sounds like you don't need one. Should meet all your expectations at this level of investment. If you are re-constructing the Bellagio Fountain, consider going with a more permanent installation. This will do fine for patios, yards, porches, and sunny-facing rooms inside.

This fountain pump works well when the solar panel is in full sunlight. Any shadows or clouds will reduce the flow considerably. The flow rate is high enough that I turned it down. There's a couple of ways to adjust the flow rate. The pump has an adjustable flow knob. A valve is also included that can be placed inline with the output. It can be closed down to reduce the flow. There's different fountain output heads to choose from and a couple of riser tubes. The sound of flowing water is a bird attraction.

This fountain, while too short for my application, does have nice water flow and accessories for variety of spray patterns. The pump is surprisingly strong, and everything was easy to set up. The solar panel has a stand that can be adjusted for angle and allows mounting to a wall or surface.

The media could not be loaded. I ordered this fountain for our large bird bath. It works well when the solar panel is in full sunlight. Unfortunately our yard doesn’t get full sunlight all day any day. Add to that the amount of overcast days we get and the fountain isn’t preforming well at all. I gave it four stars because when the solar panel does get full sunlight it works great. If you are able to get full sunlight to the solar panel regularly I think that you will be happy with this fountain. Unfortunately in the evening, which is when we are outside the most, our yard is partially shaded by large trees. Under those conditions the fountain doesn’t preform well.
