Finally a deterant that works on preventing garden damage
Well I've tried sprays, mothballs, ultrasonic devices, lights, and plastic wolves but this device seems to be delivering. Works great on deer and wild turkeys, squirells not so much after 3 weeks. When you hear the alarm go off run out and chase them down, as this helps add a "live" personal deterance factor. It's like having a guard dog on duty 24/7 you don't have to feed and walk daily. The wild turkeys seem to keep their distance because of the 130db speaker. The included remote comes in handy for ease of use and volume adjustability before cutting the lawn or checking on your vegetable garden. I give this device 2 thumbs way up. It'a great value and worth buying a 2nd for full motion detection coverage. I haven't yet tried to program my voice into it to amuse and deter the dog walkers from dumping on my lawn. LOL There is a small red LED on when turned off. I believe this may determine battery life if put into long storage over the winter months.

They work well most of the time, but need a lot more customization options.
Overview: They work well overall, but need a sensitivity setting and more customization. They sometimes do not work well in rain/fog. If it's a windy day/night, they're going to be sounding frequently. They really need a feature to upload your own sound since the recording option is just fair quality at best. Bluetooth/app functions would be a huge improvement. Details: We purchased a few of these since the deer keep eating all the flowers, even the buds and leaves. Sprays and granules and other methods have worked, but fade over time or with the weather. These work well most of the time unless it's rainy or foggy. The solar panels seem to keep them charged, so they don't need a power cord if you can't run one. They have three volume levels. We usually keep ours on medium so it's loud enough to scare the deer and keep them away, but quiet enough to not annoy the neighbors at all hours. We keep most of ours on night-only mode, but keep in mind that if you do that, they will not work early in the morning during sunrise when animals are still active! We do keep a couple on 24-hour mode, which will work all day, but it will go off when people walk by, cars drive by (40+ feet away) or even when birds are around. These really need a sensitivity setting to allow more customization, or better yet, since everything is "smart" these days, allow pairing with Bluetooth and an app to set multiple settings. I would love to be able to set high sensitivity between certain hours, then low or medium the rest of the time. If you can handle hearing these during the day, then it's worth it to keep the deer away. Otherwise, keep them on night-only mode. Lastly, the medium volume also cannot be heard much inside the house. We have ours only a few feet away from one of the windows and we can barely hear it inside with the window closed. I don't hear them at all at night, but the deer definitely do and they stay away! If these had more customization for settings (especially with an app), I'd happily give these 5 stars. There also is an option to make your own recording, but I find the default noise works well enough. I'd also like to have the option of just having the dogs barking sound without the gunshots. These also really need better programming to distinguish a vehicle vs an animal. Overall they help, but they have a lot of room for improvement.

I love this thing. Its scary and effective.
This baby would scare off anything from coyotes, to racoons, to burglars. Its like a SWAT team is hot on your tail. The sound is loud and clear, but can be turned lower if you have neighbors. Never fails to pick up motion. I now have two, but the first is still going strong over two years later, which is impressive. Total solar power, and never runs out of juice. Oddly, my dogs and chickens are not scared of this, but I've had no predator losses since buying the first one. Good investment.

Stops working
After a couple of weeks it stopped working And now it just makes A squeaky noise. Not worth it.

It works!
This machine is wonderful. The barking and gunshots were a little obnoxious (I thought I would attract police, lol) , but since you can record your own voice- it’s golden. Wildlife does not like the human voice, so I could record my voice gently telling the racoons they have to move on. Plus it doesn’t bother the neighbors. I have two questions though- how do you know if it’s fully charged? And since mine is in the sun, it gets very hot to the touch. Will this affect the longevity of it? I would definitely recommend this product. I do wish the instructions were clearer but in all, I am so pleased.

Cheap but functional / recording not loud
Not exactly what I expected. I thought it had various sounds plus option to record. FACT: it only has gunshots and dog sound and option to record. I thought okay, I will just record other sounds I want but the recording playback is nowhere near as loud as the pre recorded sound, which IS loud. In fact, I am a police Dispatcher. Do us all a favor and don’t use this with close neighbors! They WILL hear and call! It comes with short USB charger. Don’t know how long it holds charge - OIM indicates weather and sunlight effects charge. OIM: clear and easy to follow! Don’t even have to search through 15 languages to find English. When motion is detected and prerecorded sound is triggered, a bunch of bright red LED lights flash. This basically tells human intruder that it’s a recording, probably good idea so they don’t start shooting back. It will likely scare a bear or other wild animal away. I might try it in my truck - traveling. I can keep it charged and when I am at a hotel and leave my kayak in the truck, I can just lay it somewhere, out-of-site, so it will fall or move if the kayak moves. The recording stops shortly after motion stops. It will wake everyone and yes 911 will get calls, the offender would be gone and the alarm would not be tripped again until reset on the kayak. Effective in getting attention and running the offender off from the lot but not a repeating problem for local cops.

Works great on cats and other critters!
I had two cats that started pooping in my boathouse tent structure. So I set up my game camera to figure out who it was. In the meantime my wife suggested getting this. It works great! The game camera showed two culprits. One that came in the afternoon and the other at 3am or so. After we received this scarecrow I got pictures of both cats coming in and getting caught and running for their lives. The middle of the night cat came back 2 weeks after his first scare. Came in from opposite direction and was super cautious and clearly looking for the shooting barking dogs. He got caught again and almost came out of his skin. Neither cat has returned since. This device has sensitive motion detection and a solar charger. It works in pitch black and stays charged. Device also comes with a plug in charger. My only complaint is that when you activate it, it goes through the whole gun shot dog barking thing. It can trigger in my case with wind gusts shaking the tent structure and can go off frequently under those conditions so I turn it off if it’s a gusty day. But the gunshot barking thing is terrifying to critters. Since I’ve set it up, it not only got the cats out of there but it also scared the crap out of a raccoon. It catches me every morning when I retrieve the game camera.
