I had two cats that started pooping in my boathouse tent structure. So I set up my game camera to figure out who it was. In the meantime my wife suggested getting this. It works great! The game camera showed two culprits. One that came in the afternoon and the other at 3am or so. After we received this scarecrow I got pictures of both cats coming in and getting caught and running for their lives. The middle of the night cat came back 2 weeks after his first scare. Came in from opposite direction and was super cautious and clearly looking for the shooting barking dogs. He got caught again and almost came out of his skin. Neither cat has returned since. This device has sensitive motion detection and a solar charger. It works in pitch black and stays charged. Device also comes with a plug in charger. My only complaint is that when you activate it, it goes through the whole gun shot dog barking thing. It can trigger in my case with wind gusts shaking the tent structure and can go off frequently under those conditions so I turn it off if it’s a gusty day. But the gunshot barking thing is terrifying to critters. Since I’ve set it up, it not only got the cats out of there but it also scared the crap out of a raccoon. It catches me every morning when I retrieve the game camera.

Overview: They work well overall, but need a sensitivity setting and more customization. They sometimes do not work well in rain/fog. If it's a windy day/night, they're going to be sounding frequently. They really need a feature to upload your own sound since the recording option is just fair quality at best. Bluetooth/app functions would be a huge improvement. Details: We purchased a few of these since the deer keep eating all the flowers, even the buds and leaves. Sprays and granules and other methods have worked, but fade over time or with the weather. These work well most of the time unless it's rainy or foggy. The solar panels seem to keep them charged, so they don't need a power cord if you can't run one. They have three volume levels. We usually keep ours on medium so it's loud enough to scare the deer and keep them away, but quiet enough to not annoy the neighbors at all hours. We keep most of ours on night-only mode, but keep in mind that if you do that, they will not work early in the morning during sunrise when animals are still active! We do keep a couple on 24-hour mode, which will work all day, but it will go off when people walk by, cars drive by (40+ feet away) or even when birds are around. These really need a sensitivity setting to allow more customization, or better yet, since everything is "smart" these days, allow pairing with Bluetooth and an app to set multiple settings. I would love to be able to set high sensitivity between certain hours, then low or medium the rest of the time. If you can handle hearing these during the day, then it's worth it to keep the deer away. Otherwise, keep them on night-only mode. Lastly, the medium volume also cannot be heard much inside the house. We have ours only a few feet away from one of the windows and we can barely hear it inside with the window closed. I don't hear them at all at night, but the deer definitely do and they stay away! If these had more customization for settings (especially with an app), I'd happily give these 5 stars. There also is an option to make your own recording, but I find the default noise works well enough. I'd also like to have the option of just having the dogs barking sound without the gunshots. These also really need better programming to distinguish a vehicle vs an animal. Overall they help, but they have a lot of room for improvement.

These work great. Installed 1 at each end of our barn and haven't had critters (groundhogs) digging in there at all. They have great range but tend to pick up movement from birds. Nice and loud. The solar charger works great, I never have to manually charge the units. I mounted mine to blocks of wood so I can move them around.

Thought this would be a good purchase for extra protection on keeping the chicken coop safer but it's not battery operated, you can't permanently station it anywhere because you constantly need to take it down or off to recharge the product with a USB plug. Not practical at all. Along with that instructions are difficult to set what you want item to perform. Like lights only or lights with sound, etc so would not purchase again. It is also over priced for what it does and the inconvenience of the charging situation. Disappointed

This device is the only effective defense we've found works against deer coming into our garden beds and getting fat. We have tried garlic scent, predator urine sprays, Irish Spring soap, ultrasonic noise-makers and more without any wins. Along came this device and we haven't had deer eat flowers since. The sound of the barking dogs and flashing red lights makes deer flee and they must have decided our lawn was too much of a concern to make it worth trying to get to our flower beds.
