  • Perfect little solar fan 🀩 works like a charm!
Honestly impressed with this thing! I set it up in my small shed to help with airflow during the summer heat, and it’s doing a great job. The solar panel is super responsive πŸ‘πŸΌ even on cloudy days it still gets the fan going (maybe not at full speed, but definitely enough). The fan is pretty powerful for its size, and I love that it also comes with a power adapter for cloudy or nighttime use. Setup was straightforward, all the screws and parts were included, and the bracket made installation easy. My shed used to feel like an oven by midday, now it stays way cooler. This is honestly the perfect gadget for anyone dealing with that musty, stale smell in sheds, basements, or other closed-up spaces. It helps clear out the air and keeps things fresh πŸƒ no more weird, damp vibes. πŸ˜… I can totally see this being great for a greenhouse or even a chicken coop too. πŸ“ Great value for the price. If you need simple, solar-powered ventilation, this one’s a solid pick. πŸ”§β˜€οΈπŸ’¨ ... show more

  • Good ventilation for the price.
It came well packaged with adequate instructions. Also included a cardboard template for cutting the opening and setting the screws, much better than the usual paper ones. The solar cell bracket seems a bit flimsy, but it is doing the job, we'll have to wait and see how it holds up in high winds. Otherwise the unit seems to be well constructed. I'm using it to vent and cool a small chicken coop that I didn't want to run power to. This thing starts right at sun up and as the sun gets higher it goes progressively faster. At full speed it moves a lot of air for its size. It does make some noise by vibrating, and causing the coop wall to resonate, but its not too bad and only does it when the fan is running all out (YMMV on this as the coop walls are thin). ... show more

  • Ideal for a chicken coop, assuming it gets good direct sun
I'm using this fan in my chicken coop, it's an 8x10 room and gets sunlight most of the day. When the sun is on it directly, the fan is aces, good speed and draws great amounts of warm air out of the coop, it doesn't struggle a little when there's cloud. So, direct sun, awesome, cloudy day, not so awesome. It does come with a regular cord to run it from an outlet though, which allows full speed all the time. On the whole, I like it. Easy to install, runs great, nice and quiet, there's a good chance I'm going to get a second one, just to take the pressure off the first unit. ... show more

  • Simple and effective!
This was so easy to set up! Just had to make the hole in my shed. It has already made a big difference in moving air and keeping gas fumes and other stale smells from building up. I love that it had an electric adapter in case I did not get enough sun (which in Florida is unlikely!). My shed does not have power at the moment, so this was a perfect use. The airflow was actually more than I expected. It comes with a baffle that closes when the air is not flowing out, to keep unwanted critters from getting in. It's quiet but effective. ... show more

  • Perfect solution for the SoCal heat
Perfect for our old horse stalls that we converted to chicken coop. Gets pretty hot here in SoCal so being able to vent the hot air and keep the girls happy was important. Easy to install and with all the sunshine we get it runs well into the early morning hours. Doesn't appear that the fan noise is an issue with the chicks - but have it installed fairly high. Might be getting one for the green house as well. ... show more

  • Good and bad
#Edit the wire to the solar panel had got kinked and broke a little, so I cut the wire and reconnected it and now it works perfectly. The first fan I bought worked amazingly, so I bought a second one for an off grid shed. When I installed it, it was working great. I came up to my cabin for the weekend a few weeks later and the first one still works, but the second one only works if I plug it in to an AC power source, it does not work with the solar anymore. The whole idea was for it to work with solar since it is an off grid cabin. The first one gets a five star, the second one gets a one star. ... show more

  • Doesn't work. Solar panels dont work
Purchased 3 of these solar fans and after cutting holes and running the wire and screwing them into place they do not even work woth the solar. 3 good days of sun and turning on, no movement to the fans. Rubbish.

  • A good solution
This fan is working great so far. It moves the air out of the passive vents quite well on an 8x10 foot shed. It is a touch noisy but not bad at all. I did have to make a few mods to adequately weather-proof it because: 1. The wires come out of the top of the fan and the hole is not waterproof. 2. There's an on/off switch that is on the outside of the unit and it also has holes in it. the switch would also be inaccessible if the fan was mounted too high. 3. The solar panel bracket is flimsy and limits adjustability. The fix - after cutting the 7 inch hole in the shed with the small notch out (a template is provided) I cut out the notch a touch more. Then cut a slot in the fan housing with a bandsaw to release the wires so that they could route back through the notched area of the 7 inch hole. That solved 2 problems - the hole at the top was now not used/plugged with silicone, and the switch was now accessible and inside the shed, nice and dry (and accessible). As for the bracket, it just depends on the angle you need for optimal sun gathering. I drilled a hole in the bracket down lower on it to get a better tilt for my mounting situation. The mods were simple and should allow the unit to last longer. If your placement is under eaves, waterproofing will not be a concern. All in all it's a good fan that hopefully lasts. The instructions say there's a 2 year warranty. ... show more
