This solar drip system is exactly what I needed for my raised garden box! It works great! I have never installed any kind of irrigation system before. Thankfully, the directions on how to use this system are included. They are detailed and easy to follow. The booklet also tells you where to find the instructional video on line, which was very helpful. I was able to hook everything up and got it working with no problems. This kit includes everything you will need to get started, except of course the water source. It comes with plenty of tubing and spike attachments for placing the tubing with the output of water into the soil. For the water source I am using a five gallon bucket from the local hardware store that I fill up with water once a week. The small pump sits down in the bottom of the bucket. The next thing I need to do is drill a small hole in the lid of the bucket in order to feed the tubing through it. Right now I just have an open bucket full of water, which isn't great because it can catch debris and mosquitoes. It's an easy fix though and will soon be remedied. This irrigation system has saved me not only time, but the freedom from worrying about my plants drying out in the middle of the day. We live in a desert area, so around here vegetables have to be watered three times a day in the summer months. It has a scheduled timer that has multiple options for setting up watering times. I'm very happy to have this for my garden!!

Product looked pretty good as far as quality. However, the tubing was coated in some kind of silicone/solvent that was eating the plastic components on the controller as well as the stake. Returned as the melted plastic would not reharden.

I get so busy with my vegetable garden every Summer that my potted plants on the deck and patio take a back seat. I often forget to water them and they suffer a lot in our hot summers. We set up an automatic drip system on our back deck last year and it worked great, keeping flowers alive all summer, even while we were on vacation. I got this one to water the rest of the plants on the side deck and the patio. We finally got it set up this week and it works great. The emitters are slow, with low output, so that the soil gets thoroughly wetted before the water runs out the bottom of the pot. I like that there's not a lot of components and we don't have to set up separate locations for the solar panel and the controller. We currently have the intake in a 15 gallon plastic barrel, but if it would ever rain and fill up our rain barrel, it would be cool to have the intake in it. My sister is going to love that ALL the potted plants are going to be watered automatically while we are away next month, as she is the one who usually has to come and tend them.

The tubing that they include is sticky and melting. Residue was left on the solar+pump unit which you can see in the photos I've attached to my review. You can also see the oily residue that was left on the cardboard packaging. I very much recommend the core unit, but I recommend opening the box with disposable gloves in case they haven't fixed the issue with the included tubes. Luckily, I still have tubing from other setups, but I'll have to throw out the tubing that was included.
