This is another solid knife from SOG. Assisted opening, with a lock on top so there will be no accidental deployment. Cryo D2 gives you excellent edge retention, and with the TINI coating takes care of corrosion. Full size knife coming in @ 8.1” overall with 3.45” on the blade with 3.25” of cutting edge. Planer if room in the 4.5” handle that has FRN scales, but very well done, super comfortable, nice chamfering, and milling. It doesn’t give you a cheap plastic feeling. The assisted opening is very strong close to an automatic, great fit & finish, and extremely sharp, with a superb edge geometry. Full stainless steel liners to combat the lightness of the FRN coming in @ 4.7oz. Overall this is a very nice assisted opening knife with good ergos, and nice functionality. Would work out great for an EDC. ... show more

    • Overall very fun and well made
Color: Blackout
This is a great knife, a fidgeter’s dream. The safety lock, assisted opening thumb stud and the ambidextrous bar locks are all satisfying in action and sound. Solid feel suggests it will be durable. Grip is pleasantly rough.

    • Just buy it, you won't regret it.
Color: Civic Cyan
As an avid pocket knife collector, and the owner of several SOG knives, I can 100% recommend this awesome knife. It came out of the box as sharp as can be and a month later (without having sharpened it once) it almost took my finger off while using it to open my nephew's Christmas gift. There has yet to be any blade wiggle whatsoever, the lock is easy to access (even while in your pocket), and the blue color is totally awesome. Once again SOG knocks it out of the park. ... show more

    • Sog flash at a great budget folder.
Color: Blackout
So far fit finish, and function are really good cryo d2 heat treatment takes a keen sharp edge, and holds it for edc cutting task quite well. One of the better offerings from sog knives, and as a bonus the xr lock can be operated with a single hand, and is easy to manipulate.the spring assist rockets the blade out at surprising speed with a decent amount of force. Pocket clip is very deep carry due to the position of the clip making for a very discreet Pocket carry. After a good sharpening on a fixed angle system I was able to get a mirror polished hair splitting edge. And yes it came very sharp, but not to my standards. So all in all a great budget minded edc knife with great features. 👍 ... show more

    • Big win for SOG
Color: Civic Cyan
With this knife, SOG sinks the competition for assisted-opening knives at this price range. I'll take it a step further and say that this outperforms knives I own from a brand in the $150-200 price range, although I won't name names. D2 steel sometimes gets unfair criticism from some knife steel nerds, but they'll criticize just about anything that isn't marketed by their favorite companies. They also only use their knives to open Amazon packages. To test the edge retention of the cryogenically treated D2, I sliced paper, then whittled about two inches off of a piece of balsam wood, came back to the paper and the knife cut right through it the second time. Beats my wood carving knives for wood carving! There's a lot of control in the straight back blade design too, I can guide it through wood like a butter knife through... butter. This is the best example of D2 steel I've ever seen, rock solid and refuses to go dull. Anyhow, back to the knife. The thumb stud is hard to engage at first, due to stiffness. If you push from the bottom at the base of the stud, it will be much easier than if you push from the side or the tip of the stud. It's not a smooth process until the assisted opening kicks in and then the blade really lunges out. The crossbar lock is nice to have, but I find that the knife mechanism is stiff enough that I don't need it. There's no way something in my pocket is going to be strong enough to pop this knife open. Carry at your own risk though. All said and done, a totally bulletproof knife with steel that will not fail you, and it's even nice to look at. ... show more

    • I didn’t flip out…
Color: Urban Grey
Don’t like the flipper on the back for opening the knife and really don’t like the closing mechanism. Too easy to cut yourself. Returned it.

    • Beyond pleasantly surprised
Color: Urban Grey
What can I say. I'm a knife addict. I wasn't so much 'searching' for this particular knife, as much as I stumbled across it. I caught a review of it on a youtube channel I subscribe to. They gave it a great review, so I looked it up online, and saw the reviews others had given it, so I decided to give it a shot. Out of the gate, this thing is a tank. Tough as they get, without being a big bulky burden. The spring opening is snappy and rapid. In fact, it kinda caught me off guard the first time I opened it. But when that blade snaps into place, it's solid as any boutique knife I've ever felt. I have slightly larger than average hands, but this fits absolutely PERFECT. It's very rare that a folder fits me like this. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend! ... show more
