Read a lot of bad reviews, took a chance and it works perfectly. Been using it for a month now, no issues and comparing the bubbles to my source, can't really notice a difference. Maybe slightly smaller bubbles, but i push the source till it lights up two or three and only do about two farts on this. Came with the new quick connect canisters, sad about that as the source uses the original scew type. But hey, maybe thats why mine works so well, updated model. Love the glass now i can put flavors into the bottles without ruining them for plain water like with the plastic. A lot of people complain about the indication sound, like a fart, but i like it. Its not obnoxious like the source and i can make water late at night without disturbing the house. What else can i say? I've made three bottles a day for a little over a month now and the canister hasn't been changed yet. I also make the same with the source and had to change the canister last week. I believe i don't waste as much gas with this one, mostly because it's shrouded and i don't get the excitement watching it bubble. People talked about water and scum build up inside the shroud. Tip: fold a paper towel and place it into the can before you close it to catch any drips from the nozzle and dry up any residual moisture. If you feel it getting damp just toss it and replace. My machine looks brand new still. ... show more

I’ll admit that I was not interested in getting a sodastreamer. I read about this particular model using glass instead of the plastic so I decided to give it a chance. I have to say that I never thought I would use it as much as I do. I absolutely love this machine and I prefer just water than sparkling water. It is easy to use, has great glass bottles, and makes lovely fizzy water that lasts several days before losing fizz. Fizz is best and holds longer if you fizz already cold water rather than straight-from-the-tap water. I've been using this since August of 2022, and almost daily. The machine is still working as well as the first day I started using it. I had trouble getting it to fizz the water at first, but after a call to customer service, they explained what I should do, and it has worked perfectly since then. My only complaint would be that the instructions are not great. I love the glass bottles, from the look to the feel of them, and they (and the lids) are almost indestructible, a plus since I tend to drop things a lot, but have never broken them. It's rare that I feel I have truly gotten my money's worth on a purchase. I had my old penguin model for about 10 years and used it constantly but I thought it was time for a new one. This version is easier to use and better constructed than my last one. These soda stream carbonators don't save as much money on fizz water as you might think, however, they make keeping my fizzy water on hand super convenient. I was really excited about this product for it's ability to use glass carafes instead of plastic. Once I set it up, I realized pretty quickly that the construction is not very sturdy. The first two uses went smoothly, but after that the slide mechanism (in the photo) started to jam. At first it was only while trying to open the pod, but now it won't move at all. It gets very stuck and the flimsy plastic construction doesn't allow you to apply enough force to open it. I haven't been able to find any solutions to this problem. People have suggested the syrups may have clogged the mechanism but I don't use syrups (and the instructions clearly state not to do that). All and all this is a very low quality product with all the plastic. I would gladly pay $100 more for a product made from metal that actually works how it's supposed to. Would not recommend. ***Update*** I was able to loosen the slide mechanism by running hot water over it for a while. It's possible that someone may have tried to carbonate juice or something but I'm not sure. Anyway, I still think the appliance is flimsy and cheap, but at least it's working again. ... show more
