I scuba dive a lot and as such, I have a lot of freaking gear. And, inevitably, sometimes that gear wears out. Or I'll realize that I forgot something at home and am many miles away and need to make things (safely!) work or I'm not diving that day - or possibly even week with some trips. All of that first paragraph is to say, I'm always keeping my eyes open for extra and backup gear that will work well in a pinch. But, at the same time, it needs to actually work! This set fits the bill quite well. That said, I'll start with the weak points I've noticed first. The big one is that the snorkel isn't suited at all to scuba diving (we wear them as a backup guy when we're on the surface at the beginning and end of dives). And I frankly wouldn't be all too psyched if I were using it for regular snorkeling either. It really is built for the lightest type of use. On the other hand, the fins fit me as an adult. I didn't expect that they would fit! So that's a pleasant surprise. The mask itself is pretty okay. Before giving it a try in the pool, I scrubbed both sides of the lens with regular toothpaste. I also gave it a good treatment with defogger. While trying the mask, the fit was decent on me. This is noteworthy because I have a bigger face and finding a mask for that is hard and more than a bit of an annoyance! Visibility was good as well. Though I personally prefer to have a wider field of view in a mask.

I got this kit with the intent of keeping it on the boat. It's a decent size for that. The flippers appear to be good quality, they fit pretty well (as far as flippers go), are made of a nice supple rubber, and have a robust buckle and adjustment system. These are a little shorter than I'm used to and will have a bit less power than normal when swimming, but the shortness makes them easier to store in an already cramped boat. The mask; I grew a little stubbly beard over winter, haven't shaved yet, and this mask doesn't seal well. I'm hoping it's related to my 'stash, which I typically shave in the summer. So... must be a clean shaver for a sealed mask. The snorkel, this is the reason for the 4/5. The snorkel has some valve on the end and I'm really hoping that the one I received is a reject. You literally can not breath in. You can exhale, but not inhale. That's literally the one job of a snorkel. I've been using snorkels since childhood and I know not to try and breath underwater, I don't need a valve. I can pull this valve off, but that makes the snorkel pretty short. I see two little floaty balls in my snorkel valve and I'm guessing there's only supposed to be one? The valve doesn't come apart so I can't fix it. The snorkel is basically useless with the clogged valve. All in all, if you don't get a reject valve on your snorkel, then this kit should be fine. I'm guessing I would have paid about the same price for just the flippers at a brick-and-mortar store (but I probably would have bought longer, more powerful flippers at a store).

Decent quality for the price. Fit is good and equipment is comfortable. Anti-fog is spot on. We are not experienced with snorkling, but use in local springs while swimming. Lots of interesting things to see through the clear water.

This snorkeling set is pretty good and will be much better than anything you'd buy at gift stores while on vacation. I was mostly impressed with the fins because they will actually fit a grownup, but still has a good small fin size which is best for snorkeling. Although, if you are spending any length of time in them you'll want to wear boots. Not absolutely necessary, but after a while you will blister. There is something I don't like about the mask though. Overall it's fine with soft silicone to make a nice seal, but the nose is a very odd shape. It's very pointy and almost hawkish. The large nose piece might be ideal for some, but it's still seems to be at an odd angle. At any rate, unless you can fill it out your nose may be swimming in it causing some problem to find your nose to equalize. If you snorkel on the surface, and don't dive down there should be no need to find your nose to squeeze and blow, so it should not be a problem.

This snorkeling set is good quality and comes in a convenient carry bag. We just returned from the islands and renting or buying snorkel equipment is expensive. I wish I had this set with me, especially since you can basically snorkel anywhere on an island. The mask fits my medium face well and the snorkel has a comfortable mouthpiece. The flippers are the best part, since you don't always see them included with a snorkel set. They are easily adjustable and fit my feet well. There was an extra insert in the top of the flippers, which I removed because it was uncomfortable. I'm guessing it's there to accommodate smaller feet. The mask, snorkel and flippers are made of lightweight plastic and silicone. They are easily packable and won't add much weight to your luggage. I'll definitely be carrying these with me on my next trip!

Went to the beach this weeked took this snorkeling set to use. Works well fins stayed on and mask snorkel was ok. The soft silicone in the flippers was great my tops of my feet didnt hurt. The buckling system that holds it on could use a revamp as it was hard to get them on if you take them off in the water. Overall was great for what they are.
