These are great! Very smooth to adjust, very comfortable to use and even work for things like seated calf raises because the flat sides are comfortable. They are replacing a whole large rack of dumbbells for me. Adding in the magnet kit even gets me micro gains (2.5 lb increment) and mid-weights (15, 25, 35, 45, 55, 65, 75, 85). The only issue I had and the only dumbbells I couldn't replace with this kit were the 17.5, 27.5, 37.5 etc. There are only enough magnets to get you up 5 lbs, not 7.5. So, I bought a 2nd magnet kit. It effectively gives me a 90lb adjustable weight set now, instead of an 85lb limit (per dumbbell). They are expensive, but no where near as expensive as the equivalent dumbbells would be separately. In fact, they are about 1/3 of what you would pay for the full set of dumbbells to 90lbs with 2.5lb increments the whole way up from 10 lbs. ... show more

After one of my Core Home Fitness adjustable dumbells broke (wouldn't adjust below 20 lbs for some reason) I decided to get some good adjustable weights that could go up to at least 80lbs. I researched Nuobells, Trulaps, Powerblocks, etc, but settled on Snode dumb bells after seeing reviewer after reviewer praise them for their durability. They have definitely met up to my expectations, they're heavy duty and almost entirely made out of metal. They feel very high quality and I'm happy with the knurling on the handles (and their thickness!). I would occasionally get blisters from using my Core Home Fitness dumbells if I held them too high on the handle and my hand rubbed too close to the weights themselves, but they way they designed these makes that impossible. Zero problems so far. The 10lb jumps between weights is obviously the biggest negative but I bought the magnets and find that it's a fine work around (would be nice if they designed something more flat and round that you could stack on both ends though) and the magnets are versatile--I regularly slap them on my weight plates or the weight stack that comes with my lat pulldown machine. ... show more

So far I love these dumb bells. I bought them because they are able to be dropped from a moderate height without breaking. They might break/dent your floor though. I had the Bowflex selectable 90lbs dumbbell set and there are some exercised you have to drop them at the heavy weights. Over time they wore out and the plates started falling off causing some near misses with my head. These SNODE dumbbells are simple iron with a keyed locking system. I like the sleek, low profile form factor so I don't bruise my wrists/forearms doing certain lifts. The weight selection dials are super smooth and give a reassuring click when set. There is no rubber or plastic over moulding, so protect your floors. I haven't intentionally dropped them yet, but I have set them down pretty hard and no concerns. The only thing I wished they had was a rubber over moulding on the grips. Nothing like cold dimpled iron to get your calluses developed. ... show more

Love the cost per pound, ease of use, and they feel solid at all but the heaviest weight settings. At full weight there is a slight sag on the last plate per side. For me the real elephant in the room is the magnetic change weights. They work, but the dumbbells are already so long at heavier weights that sticking extensions onto each side just feels silly. When I can I end up attaching the extensions to the sides or bottom of the dumbbells so they don't clank on my chest or legs for rows, bench press, and shoulder press. ... show more

The product is amazing and is what I expected! It arrived earlier than I anticipated, and I have been able to get a few workouts in since. It took less than a minute to set up each item out of the box. I find that the magnetic weights are more useful for variations that do not require you to put the weights on your lap before a lift (typically, I put the weights on my knees before a chest or shoulder press). The additional weights are perfect for getting the "right" weight for curls, lateral raises, RDLs, rows, and more. These are for sure a more durable set in comparison to the Nuobells. ... show more

Came exactly as advertised. I had the bowflex adjustables (52.5lbs) prior to these. I needed more weight and wanted something not as bulky and closely resembled the feel of a regular dumbbell. I’ve tried several adjustable brands over the years, and the Snode AD80s are currently the ones to beat. The shape is more traditional, making them easier to balance for overhead presses or rows. The drop-test durability (though I try not to drop mine!) gives me a lot more peace of mind compared to the dial-style adjustables that are prone to breaking. Great value for the price. ... show more
