I orginally bought 2 sets, and for the cost it was a very small area. I ended up buying 2 more sets (total of 4) and can decently skate in a tight pattern. good for shooting pucks off skates not really skating. It takes alot more effort to skate and dulls your blades quick. smaller kids really have to put in alot of effort to glide otherwise its just like walking on skates... These panels are very thick and sturdy tho, but skates tear them up pretty easy. You almost feel like you should have to coat them with something to help protect them but also help with skating. Puck handling is decent. and feels like ice. It can get very expensive to make a large enough area to make it worth it.

I knew these panels would not feel totally like ice, that's accepted, but I would like to at least be able to glide a little bit. Im the size of an average defenseman and I don't glide but a couple of inches on these panels, this wouldn't be a problem if they weren't so expensive. If I had to go back and do this again, I would probably look for a different synthetic ice panel.

It was great for figure skates compared to some synthetic ice hockey ice is harder this was sliperying in a good way loved it after 5 hours I had to get my skates sharpen but depends on what you do I was doing everything I do on ice on there so much fun

Son loves it, it will pay for itself in 50 uses instead of spending money on a clinic. He is using it for hours at a time stick handling and shooting, blasting the music and allowing him to build a love for the game without any pressure. Pro's: Saves me a trip to an ice rink Saves me 20-30 dollars per clinic (we will do less one off clinics now) Son absolutely loves it Can practice anything you can do on real ice, just a bit slower and requires a bit of extra effort Can practice with or without skates Cons: Will not replace on ice clinics Price its expensive to do a large area, I purchased 5 packs for over 1200 Not real ice, its not going to be as slick as real ice, set your expectations correctly Fair amount of plastic shavings, if your room is dual use will need vaccum after each use or you will get plastic shavings all over the place. Customer service wouldn't sell 1 or 2 panels at reasonable price to finish my area, suggested there solution was to buy 4 panels, 2 of which I wouldn't use.

I bought this for my son to practice his butterfly on. It’s not meant for goalies as there is still plenty of friction compared to ice. In truth, I’m not sure what a single pack is worth as it would be too small for a skater to practice anything and too much friction for a goalie.
