  • Easy to Install!
These are really nice quality and were a breeze to install. Adds a sporty look to my Kia Sorrento Hybrid. Great product and great price!

  • Good value, sturdy, but installing was a slight pain
Took me a while to figure out that the long bar went in the front instead of the back, which had me confused for a bit. Overall these seem pretty sturdy and secure. Relatively easy to install. Good value versus other models.

  • Not the easiest to install properly but a great bang for your bucks
After carefully reading every review on this product, I decided to still buy it, because it is the best rated set of cross bars for Kia Sorento (2020-2024), knowing I might have a hard time getting the covers in place and lock them, but convinced that, once installed, those bars would not fly off the roof... And I was right, I am glad I bought them. The n#1 criteria for me was the safety and sturdiness of the bars: it's out of question that our box, with all our skis in it, should fly off on the highway. Result: We're just back from a trip from NJ to Canada and back, and the bars haven't moved a quarter-inch, they are solidly fixed to the rails, and the roof box to them. We can open the sunroof. I have to admit : it took me 15 min to assemble them, it's not complicated (remember: the shorter bar goes at the back, the longer bar to the front) but the instructions are not the best. Now on to the tough part : once the bars are fixed and super tighten to the rails, it is a bit of a struggle to push and affix the covers and lock them in place. The trick is to give a good push right underneath the key hole with one hand, and turn the key while you're pushing. If you lack the strength, you could use a clamp, but make sure the strength point is applied right below the key hole. Once all covers are locked, the lock caps, although plastic made, won't move either, you just have to insert the bottom first, then push the top until you hear a 'click'. Even if you're not handy - like me, really not a smart guy when it comes to handiness - this shouldn't take you more than 45 min from opening the Snailfly box to opening a beer to congratulate yourself on a job well done. ... show more

  • Perfect fit
I wanted to add a roof rack to my Kia but could not see spending $700+ on one. I found this one and for the price decided to give it a shot. I’m very happy with them. Was easy to install. Note you will need some kind of clap to reinstall the covers but other than that, so easy. Very happy with this purchase. Don’t waste your money with the more expensive racks. Also, no extra wind noise. ... show more

  • Sturdy with Okay Build Quality. Good Value Choice. Good Customer Service
It took a couple of days, but I finally got the covers to fit... Okay, here's the TLDR version: They look good, almost like OEM, and very sturdy compared to others that I have tried and did not work. Fit and finish are a 6.5 out of 10. Covers require some manipulation, it's not just about using a torque wrench... I had to put some pressure on the plastic just below the lock to get the locks to engage... CAUTION: With the torque wrench set at 50LBS as the directions said, it stripped out the screwheads... Looks and performance: The fit and finish are not perfect, but good enough. They pass the 10ft and 3 ft tests. They look very similar to the OEM parts, and the connection to the rail is very sturdy. They seal off well on the top, and I looked for the clamps to have hooks on both sides to catch the contours on the rails which these do. Some of the "universal" cross bars have a flat side and no matter how much you tighten them, you can pull them off by hand. I gave these a thorough testing and I am confident they will do well. Installation and Instructions: The instructions are not great... but if you are intuitive they are pretty easy to install. The biggest challenge I had was determining the location of the bars. After doing some research, I placed them over/near the door seams. - Make sure they are at least 30 inches apart. - The distance from the top of the windshield is important for reducing wind noise, other the front door seam did pretty well for me. Tightening these was also a bit of a mystery. I hand-tightened them with the Allen Key that was provided, and even at that, they seemed pretty sturdy. However, the instructions call for a torque wrench set at ~50lbs. I was never able to actually tighten them down to the point where the torque wrench released. I ended up stopping out all of the screwheads (if this happens, you can use some channel-lock of vise grip pliers and get the screws off. The screws are M6 x 100 35mm) We went out for a drive and got up to 65 mph and didn't have any noticeable wind noise. As I mentioned above, the position/distance from the top of the windshield will be key to minimizing the noise. ... show more

  • Easy install. Sturdy. With the Price
Would give 5 stars if the plastic covers were better quality. Product was super easy to install. I did it alone. I did not have any issues turning the key to secure the covers. The trick is to ensure you really tighten up the screws. I didn’t need clamps at all. These do not interfere with the sunroof. Happy so far. Will give update if something changes. 2023 Kia Sorento ... show more

  • Good Enough
Overall: Solid crossbar that will hold a bag or whatever attachment. Obviously, better ones exist but this one will do the trick for more mild weather conditions. If you are in freezing conditions I expect that water will get in the cover and freeze it. Although, I am not sure why anyone would need to take it off at that point anyway. That said, works great for us. Good: 1. Price 2. Easy to install 3. Rubber on clamps 4. Plenty of room for sunroof 5. Doesn't make too much noise Bad: 1. Poor instructions (but there are youtube videos) 2. Didn't have hex key (fallen wrench) needed for install 3. Can't go all the way back on the rails but goes far enough 4. The clamp covers aren't a perfect fit 5. The lock cover needs a gasket or something to make it fit tighter. Water will definitely get in there if it's raining. I don't think that it will negatively affect anything in the short term but it might make some parts rust in the long term. ... show more
