This firepit is wonderful. I got the 5.5" Stainless Steel. It is perfect for my 42" round table. I started to get the 7" based on reviews and glad I did not. I think it would have been fine too but the 5.5" is less expensive and works for my covered patio. It doesn't burn as long as the larger size (7") but still burns a couple of hours and if needed, I just throw in some more wood pellets. I use the same wood pellets as I use in my Wood Pellet Grill. They do not smoke. I wonder if the reviews where it smoked used wood chips instead of the wood pellets. I love it !!!

The construction is robust; there's no rust or signs of wear despite being exposed to various types of fuel and outdoor elements (when not in use). This isn't a flimsy novelty item; it’s built to last. Fuel Versatility: The best part about this little pit is that it’s not picky about fuel sources. I have successfully used a variety of materials: Wood Pellets: Great for a steady, even burn. Scrap Wood: It handles chunks of cut-up 2x4s and other wood scraps efficiently. Fire Starters: Lighting it is easy; I use cut-up 100% natural fire starters, and it catches quickly every time. Heat Output & Use Case: As expected for its size, the heat output is modest, but effective. It puts off a little heat, good enough to warm your hands if you're sitting within a couple of feet of it. I bought this because of the price. Wasn’t expecting much because it was half the price of the name brands. I used standard size split hardwood I buy by the cord. It fit in there good. As long as you don’t stack wood past the top lip you get a really clean burn with barely any smoke. Probably can fit 5-6 pieces, 3-4 made a great fire. The flames were high enough and the stove produced a lot of heat and light. The whole assembly gets very hot so you’ll need to place it on some sort of crushed stone or pavers base. I got the black one. Looks great and is made out of solid steel. Cons: wish it had handles to move when not in use. The top “drum” part is not connected to the bottom. So when you move it you have to lift from the bottom. Pro: when the “drum” comes off it makes it very easy to take the bottom portion over to where you would dispose of the ash. I definitely recommend this stove. Is great for a quick fire in the yard without the mess or smoke. I live in the country but if I lived in the city with a small yard this would work great. A bag or 2 of convenient store store wood and you’ll be set for the night. Buy a cover if you don’t have storage.

Good quality but I will say be aware on what to burn you can burn plastic, but I would not do. It is not good for your health and the smoke level is pretty good not that much smoke unless you’re burning like cardboard the ventilation is very good. Best option look up what to burn and what burns the best. Very good buy all around.

This is my first experience with one of these stoves/fireplaces. Overall, the 7-inch is functional and great for two people. It puts out a fair amount of heat without much smoke. The 5.5" just seemed to small and 8" a bit too big. This works well on the ground or on a table top. A couple of dings, though. The fold out legs do not stay folded out. When you stir the fire, one inevitably collapses. I'll need to come up with some way to make them more sticky. Second, the documentation says something about a pellet cup. This was not included in what I received. We tried using pellets on top of the flame and it turned out to be a mistake. The pellets didn't burn well and clogged up the air vents on the bottom, putting out the flame. If want to use pellets as fuel (which would be ideal given the small size), look elsewhere.
