However, they work really well, fit your face quite good and provide a great getaway relaxation during a busy day when you just need to zen out and catch your breath. I was eyeing these up for months! Couldn’t justify spending the money at first though. I have severe dry eye due to meibomian gland dysfunction and LASIK surgery. Working on a computer all day doesn’t help. (Fun fact my eye doctor said more and more people and KIDS will end up with this issue over time because staring at screens and not blinking enough is a main cause). Had a great heated eye mask that did the trick until my Ausshole puppy chewed up the cord- she helped herself to my nightstand! Anyhoo, had some funds left on my FSA that needed to be spent so I bought these. First off, these bad boys are insanely relaxing. A little big, bulky and noisy but not a dealbreaker, different than my old heated ones. Was super excited for all the features especially the heat as my eyes were desperate. The heat is nice but sadly not directly on eyelids as hoped. It heats more around your eyes which is fantastic for relaxing. Peeps with meibomian gland issues need heat on the eyelids to liquify clogged oil so it’s more easily expressed to the eye itself. This is where dry eye relief comes in. Oil can make its way to the surface of the eye to help retain tears. Sorry for the explanation but not all reviews for these googles mention this and if you suffer from the same gritty, “ I can hear myself blink” issues that no amount of eye drops help, this is important to know! The compression, vibration and heat are amazing otherwise. The goggles are well made and the app is ok. Another bummer is you can’t get music to stream to the googles when using the app and choosing the different options available. The setting pairs great to the googles but the music plays from you phone. Worth mentioning since the googles are Bluetooth and it’s kinda expected since you have to pair your phone with the app. It would be nice to have the music play through the headphones instead of your phone. The googles are a little loud when using, if using next to another person, traveling, working, etc. I want to love these goggles, there is honestly so much to love. If you need to relax and aren’t worried about the tidbits that I was looking for, get them! I’d you’re looking for an upgraded heated eye mask for dye eye relief, they won’t cut it very well.

I found these goggles to be a wonderful, relaxing edition to our nighttime routine. They're fairly comfortable, and do lower heart rate. No complaints!

There is supposed to be a temple massage function but it's controlled by an air bladder that just inflates and deflates. There is no kneading or any type of actual massage. It's a poor attempt at compression and it doesn't even vary the pattern. I wound up returning this after a couple days because it just wasn't relaxing and what I expected. This is a superfluous gadget, so it's already fighting an uphill battle to justify the price it costs. 200 dollars for an eye massage goggle it better give you a great massage. This isn't great, it isn't even good it's average. If I didn't return this it would become yet another gadget that just sits around my house collecting dust as it isn't good enough to use regularly. So I would have used it just long enough to not feel guilty over the money I spent on it. Luckily I was proactive and returned this before it became another obligation for a few months that ultimately would be doomed to sit at the bottom of closet somewhere in my house.

I imagine that this device could benefit those whose head and face fit the contours of the mask. Unfortunately mine did not and the mask became painful once activated. There is no adjustment available to make the mask wider or more flexible to all the parts contacting your face to be gently massaged or heated.

I’m pleasantly surprised how well Therabody’s SmartGoggles worked. My pregnant wife constantly suffers from headaches and an occasional migraine but because she’s pregnant she is staying away from medication. They have 3 settings: Relax, focus and sleep. You can connect the goggles to your phone via Bluetooth and control the heat, vibration and what setting you want to use when. My wife swears by the focus mode set at heat level 2 vibration level 3 for 20 minutes. The entire time I’ve known my wife I have never seen her fall asleep on the couch, not once until last weekend. The goggles feel like they are great quality and will last a long time. Personally, I can’t put a price on having a happy sleeping pregnant wife! I highly recommend the Therabody SmartGoggles.

This is not a very pleasant unit to use. The unit itself is super heavy while wearing it. The mechanical functions are very noisy and not relaxation inducing.

Therabody is one of my favorite innovators in the game, and I especially loved their Smart Goggles. I have a rough time with getting proper sleep and decompressing before bed. This device is perfect for helping with that and also keeping a good track of how it's been helping you. You can connect the device to the Therabody app and control the device from there + your progress in terms of heart rate at the beginning/end of usage. There are 3 levels to the heat and 3 different types of modes (Relax, Sleep, Focus). The app also comes with audio in case you want that with any of your modes. The device is one of the more expensive ones on the market, but it's well worth it if you are consistent with your use!
