These lights are amazing high quality and power saver and cool different colors. The power cost of power is almost $1/year woooow. How to install: 1- Safety first-Turn the power off remove the old light and install the new one. 2- install the new light and make sure it's snug fit 3- Go to your phone and download the Meross app 4- create an account if you haven't already and then on the top home screen click on the + 5- swipe up until you find Smart Bulb Continue the steps until your light flashes for 3-6 times with different colors. 6- Congrats you are done! Let me say, I have over 20 smart lights throughout my house. Some of them better than others. These.... these are by far the worst of the worst of what I now own. Most lights can hook up through 1 app. These have to use their own, no big deal right? Not the first set I have had that had to do this. Except their app is an absolute garbage fire of an app. Half the time it doesnt connect to my router, then it doesnt connect to the light, then it doesnt connect to my alexa. The navigation of the app is horrid also. So I would give a 1 star just because of their app, but wait that isnt the only crappy thing there is. Let's talk about installation. Needless to say I'm experienced at installing this style of light. Normally takes me about 2 to 3 minutes to have them up running with alexa. So go to install these and of coarse I have to use their dumpster fire trash of an app to setup. Starting installing first bulb, fails to install. Try again fails to install, so try the other one, it actually installs. Thing is I have them on the same socket, and after a failed install you have to reset the bulbs. So reset both bulbs, install one it goes. Second fails. Since I have installed a few of these, I go ahead an take the installed bulb out and reset the other and it finally installs. So I screw in the other bulb amd the app sees everything. Everything works within the app. So I connect it to alexa, alexa sees both devices. I'm thinking great! Tell alexa to turn off the lights and only one turns off. Go into my alexa app and it shows one bulb non responsive, go into meross app and both bulbs work. Go back into alexa and still nothing. I gave up trying afte that. Dont buy these. Their app sucks. The bulbs themselves might be ok, but the interface has a lot of issues. Made mistake buying these. Going to replace and order a set that I trust. ... show more

    • Horrible first smart bulb experience

I purchased a set of 2 Meross smart bulbs for two lights in my home. The set-up was confusing and I received countless "errors" before taking a break and resuming. Alexa integration, while fairly simple to set-up, fails 6/10 times. I find myself opening the Meross app on my phone more often to set my lights because the Alexa integration isn't ideal for me. For automated lights on/off, etc through Alexa, the lights have already crashed at least twice, forcing me to reset them when I return home. I have reset my router, restarted my phone, reset the app - all multiple times without much luck. Last night, both of my lights decided to stop functioning after one just stopped responding. I powered off/on and restart my phone before 1 light would turn on. The other light won't budge and refuses to connect after multiple attempted resets. I will be contacting the manufacturer for help. But each time I've attempted to impress guests with my Meross smart lights, they have failed. I would NOT recommend these to a friend. Beware. Update: Now 1/5 stars I contacted the manufacturer after one of the bulbs failed after a couple weeks’ use. After some back and forth, I received a replacement after two weeks. After a couple weeks the other bulb constantly freezes and must be reset. One of the main reasons I bought these is so I could control them remotely. That’s not easy with either. Mine did not come with instructions, but the Meross app provided them all and they were easy to follow and installation was relatively straightforward. So far, the lights are working perfectly with my Google Assistant. Was essentially as easy as “plug and play" following the instructions in the Meross app These bulbs are very colorful and seem to actually be brighter than my smart Philips hue bulbs that I was using before. The bulbs work as intended and I am very happy with them as I can now have different colored lights on the front of my home for different seasons and can have a nice, soft yellow glow at night. I am able to use these with my Google assistant, which is a huge perk. ... show more

So far, so good with these. I've had some bad luck with other brands, especially Feit Electric (those cheapies you can get at Costco) flickering or just not lasting. Time will tell if these last, but at the price, I'll be happy to get a year or two out of them. Have to say, these bulbs have turned out to be even brighter than expected -- especially in color. I have them installed in 4 can lights in my entryway, and they work perfectly. You first have to add them via the app, which isn't too difficult. From there, you can control each bulb independently using the Meross app (or Smart Life), and then group them into "scenes." I've so far set up a few scenes for these bulbs so far. During normal use, I've set them all to 100% with a warm tone, and at 9pm, they automatically dim by 50%, shutting off completely at 10pm -- all via simple actions easily scheduled in the app. I've also set up several color schemes that are now available at the press of a button -- like all purple for halloween, alternating red/green for xmas, etc. To my surprise, the purple color these bulbs throw out actually passes for black lights and have a similar fluorescent effect - very cool.
