The media could not be loaded. Let me start by saying have a really expensive record player with all the bells and whistles. I barely know how to operate it and it’s connected to speakers and a sound system blah blah blah. 😒 I wanted this one for simplicity and because it’s so cute. No other reason. I feel more confident in learning to care for my vinyls now. (Don’t judge my poor handling or lack of skill) Upon opening, I tested 2 records out of curiosity. I saw many mention the sound, peeling , etc. The sound on mine is fine for the price. I cut it up to the max and there isn’t much to say. Mine is not canvas or plastic, but some type of fabric was used for the print. It has a few minor flaws but no big deal. I love it. It’s not heavy so I can move it easily. I enjoy the sound over modern sounding devices if that helps.

You know when you buy something you really don’t need on a whim? That’s what happened with me buying this record player. I’m a casual music lover. I like music. But I don’t go out of my way to listen to it so I never saw the need for a record player. But I saw this one and thought it was very cute and I was thinking why not? I could enter into my record listening to era. I’m a grown up, there’s no one to stop me. So I bought the record player and I don’t know just putting a record on has brought me so much joy. True the sound quality isn’t the BEST but it’s pretty good for just having music on in the background. If you want to blast your records, buy some speakers for it! Honestly I might do so myself in time. Like I said I bought it because it was cute. Which, I understand, is not the proper reason to buy a record player. But I am pleased with my purchase so I don’t care!

Why oh why did I not listen to the 1 star reviews and allow my attraction to the beautiful old-timey case override the voice of reason? First, the directions also included how to assemble a Huffy bike- no, I'm not kidding- see my photo. Second, I could tell immediately upon opening the case that, while the suitcase itself is indeed beautiful, the actual "turntable" is a plastic piece of junk that I'm not even sure I would want to risk damaging my beautiful, overpriced vinyl records on top of. There's not even a slipmat. But third, the damn thing won't even turn on. So, after wasting time hauling boxes upstairs and whatnot, I just wasted more time by calling Crosley (even though I had little hope) rather than amazon because the user manual says: "Questions, problems, missing parts? Before returning, call customer service at..." So after spending about 40 minutes on hold, the overly happy woman immediately- without even trying one single troubleshooting technique- which shows her lack of faith in the product- told me to contact amazon. Now I get to waste more time doing that and then making another trip to ups and ending with no record player.

This is my second Crossley. The turntable needs fixing on my old one and doesn't have Bluetooth capability. This one sounds sweet on my AV unit over Bluetooth. My only gripe and the reason for knocking off a star is that the stylus arm does not return when it gets to the end of the groove, instead the record just stops spinning. I think all Crossleys do this by design and I see it as a big flaw. I'm not convinced that this does the record or the needle any favors!
