This is one of the few motorized blackout shades that offered a 20" wide option. The price is excellent, and the blackout and motorized features work perfectly. I didn't use the wall mounting kit it came with, but instead I simply stuck the shade to the wall using a thick nano tape and it is holding up very well. The motor is very silent and doesn't vibrate much so the tape is likely to hold up for the lifespan of the shades. Also, the shade's USB port are USB-C, so I simply got a normal phone charging plug with a USB-C cable to power it (I did not try the solar panel since I wanted a more reliable form of power supply).     • HomeAssistant - Not exactly “Smart”, still does the job

A lot of the reviews seem AI generated, but I actually bought this thing and thought I’d share my experience . I chose these because it’s the cheapest smart blinds you can get. The old saying you get what you pay for comes to mind. As non smart blinds, this thing is pretty slick. Easy enough install, sturdy construction, arrived as advertised with all the hardware you need, even drywall anchors (bonus points for that). You can adjust the maximum high and minimal height the blinds extend to. They block out all light coming from my window. The RF remote feels cheap but works just fine. Instructions were clear enough, but could stand to be reviewed by a non-tech-savvy native English speaker. The solar panel is awesome and so far as heald up great, but the connector on it is rather thick, you should take this plugs thickness in mind when mounting the blinds as it needs about a 1/2inch of clearance. I ordered the 35” set, but ended up having to grind down about 1mm of plastic on both sides because it turns out my window was just slightly shorter than 35” and I really wanted that inner fitment. Ez enough with a rotary sander. My fault for not measuring the window to the 1/16 of an inch. My biggest issue with these is they claim to be smart. It’s not super clear from their posting, but in order to make them “smart” you need to buy their $35 adapter connects to your phone (Tuya app) then sends 443MHz RF to the blinds to mimic the remote. I did not want to buy that and used my existing BroadLink RM4 Pro I have for controlling IR/RF devices with HomeAssistant. I was able to learn the codes from the remote pretty easily and tie it into some basic automations. (So the blinds open when my wake up alarm goes off, it’s the best feeling ever!) . I keep saying “smart” because in my mind these are not truly smart. They have no state. I cannot check if the blinds are open or if they blinds are closed or what % open they are, I can only send “open” , “close”, and “stop” commands via RF. It still works for basic automations such as: “Close the blinds at sunset”, “Open the blinds when my alarm goes off”. If these things are possible with their little adapter I’ll buy it and update my review, but it doesn’t seems like it could be possible. In my mind these are dumb blinds that have a remote, and you can mimic the remote with HomeAssistant or a FlipperZero. If you don’t want to tie them into complex home automations and can live without state then these are the best remote controlled blinds you can buy for the price. Knowing what I know now and my goals of home automation via HomeAssistant, I probably would have spent the $150 for a set of ikeas zigbee blinds. I may still try to tear these apart and control them with an ESP32, or add some Halifax sensors to the top and bottom to be able to tell if they are open or closed. But for now I am happy with what I have ... show more

Product installed properly and attempted to Solar charge for 3 days. Despite this, neither of the two units work. I attempted product support, and they suggested I return and reorder instead of trying to help me repair. Extremely frustrating given I have installed already and worked for hours to try and get them to work. These are garbage!!! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Needed blinds for my new construction home...so, I was skeptical at first about purchasing because the prices were almost the same as regular blinds...but I did it away, and upon my quick delivery.... we installed them and OMG...they was so easy to do. Something that the contractors wanted to charge thousands of dollars for. Once we were half way done, my Husband asked me to get some more...and that was a shocker because he was begging me to spend more money. Lol 🤣The seperate remote was a breeze as well. It controls them all at once, instead of individually. Once we get the wall treatment done, it will all come together and I will upload more pictures and videos. It's definitely hands down the best purchase of blinds anywhere Thank me later... and FYI, I wasn't paid to do a review. ... show more

The blinds are great but definitely not smart. There’s not much when it comes to instructions. The seller will send you to a YouTube and supposedly it’s super simple to pair with the gateway on the Tuya app but it’s not. If anything it unpairs it with the remote. I’ve given up trying to make them “smart” and most likely will return because what’s the point if I can’t automate ... show more
