The smart deadbolt lock is made of two main parts: exterior and interior assembly. Other parts I received with it are an adjustable deadbolt, a strike box, a stainless steel mounting plate and a strike plate. The included hardware contains various screws needed to install the smart deadbolt lock. There was also a pair of keys and a drilling template but I was able to use what I already had on my door. I didn't have to drill anything. The user manual is written in clear English and with lots of graphics that helped me do my installation without trial and error. Each step is explained in detail in the manual. It explains how to extend the deadbolt, how to set the door knob depending on which side the hinges are and so on. In short, I felt like a pro because I didn’t make any errors following the manual’s instructions. I then proceeded with connecting it to my Wi-Fi. The smart lock works with Smart Life, an app I already use with many devices in my home and it works with Google Home and other assistants. Adding the smart lock to the app was quick and I had to do some adjustments like choosing the correct door opening direction, changing the admin passcode, setting up codes for family and fingerprints. I can also set the time when the door automatically locks. To enable Google Home, I had to configure Remote Voice Unlock in the Smart Life app within the smart locks settings window. After that, I could ask Google to lock and unlock my door. Google asked me for the passcode I set up earlier in Remote Voice Unlock. In case the batteries run empty, I can use one of the included keys. Besides, right below the keyhole is a USB-C port which I can connect to a portable charger to temporarily lock or unlock my door without battery power. Therefore, I don’t have to worry much about being locked out of my home if the batteries died as long as I have either one of the keys or a portable charger and a USB-C cable. The interior assembly is plastic but the exterior assembly is made of metal and has a sealing gasket to protect it from the elements. To enter a passcode, I first press any button to activate the keypad which then illuminates blue. This tells me its ready to receive the code. I enter it and then press # to confirm. But I prefer fingerprints. I can save up to 50 in the smart locks memory. I mostly use the smart lock for remote unlock when a delivery guy rings my video doorbell. I can see the courier through my video doorbell and then ask to leave the packages inside my home right after I unlocked the smart lock via the app or Google Home.

Not only has this lock improved my home's security, but it has also made daily tasks far easier than I could have ever expected. After installation, the ease of use was the most obvious change. With just a finger, I can find my keys without any more fumbling about or fretting about losing or misplacing them. The technology used for fingerprint recognition is groundbreaking. I can easily and quickly unlock my door with a single touch, giving me safe and rapid entry to my house every time. Additionally, the integration with the mobile app has also been a game-changer. I can use the app to remotely regulate and keep an eye on the lock status, as well as to give temporary codes to visitors or service providers and get instant notifications when someone knocks on my door. My dad is getting old and sometimes forgets his keys, so I got him this smart lock. It's well-made and easy for him to install since he's handy. The lock works great. When it's locked, it's secure. It has both fingerprint and password options. My dad can use his fingerprint to unlock it, and it responds well. The lock also recorded my fingerprint. My dad also gave me the password, and when I tried it, it worked too. It's user-friendly and combines safety with convenience.
