The heat control unit is not the same as pictured, however it is easy to use even though it fits loosely in the holder. This is okay by me because when I press mugs, i remove it from the main press and set it on the workbench next to the mug press. I was taken back that the mug attachment screws are very short and do not pass through the bracket which makes the mug attachments loose in the mug press. The swivel post is very loose fit and does wobble some. Overall I do like the press and it does suit my needs as a hobbyist.
