  • SUPPORTS TWO 4 X 4" OR 4 X 5.65" FILTERSIt accepts two 4 x 4 or 4 x 5.65" filters without the use of filter trays and includes four adapter rings to attach the matte box to the lens. The filters can be easily pushed out from the side without leaving fingerprints on the filters by unscrewing the top thumbscrew.

Very lightweight but very strong build. I love the filter slot. It takes 2 different sizes but I opted for the 4x4 filters and they slide in with ease and stay in place. No rattles or squeaks in this lens hood which is great for video. I have owned lesser quality hoods that could be heard squeaking in the video I was shooting which is why I bought this hood. This is a very light-weight matte box (297 grams) with two filter trays! The matte box is 9' x 5.7', compatible with the 4x4 or 4x5.6 filter. The filter slot door on the side is very secure and protects the filter very well. The top flag is made of carbon fiber and looks very nice. It comes with 4 adapter rings (67 mm, 72 mm, 77 mm, 82 mm) and easy to put on. The matte box also has a 1/4 in screw hole on the bottom for the box support for rail mounting. The product also comes with a really nice box, which is not often seen in SmallRig parts. Very good value for the price. ... show more

Ok, I wanted a matte box so I could look more professional. I think client experience is something important and I want that validation on a good project. I HAVE used some filters like a pro-mist and an ND which I love and honestly its nice for the added protection. The flap could be a little sturdier but its fine. Quality is great. I was looking btwn this and the Tilta but I think the size on this was just better for a black magic rigged out. And its easier it seems to get the filters out of the box too. Overall great purchase, I definitely use it out in the field and for cases where I want to look more professional. ... show more

    • Versatel and sturdy matte box - great value!
Pros: light weight, the price is reasonable , it holds both 100 and 150mm filters and comes with the 4 most popular lens adapter sizes, also the filters sit super close to the lens unlike the tilta mini matt box where the filters are away from the lens and you can get glaring. Matte boxes need to be light weight and I feel like Small Rig did a good job using sturdier materials where needed and light weight less sturdy materials where it could without jeopardizing build quality. Wish list/ cons: I wish smallrig would make a lens adapter to this matte box for wide angle lenses that typically do not accept screw on filters. I bought the SmallRig rail mount Adapter for this matte box that is sold separately and was glad to see that it mounted to both rails for more support, unlike the tilta mini that only mounts to one rail. But was disappointed that like the tilta it is only a single pole connection to the matt box so it is less sturdy with that single connection and if bumped the matt box rotates on that single access. Of course most standard size non-wide angle lenses will work perfectly because they will be using the lens to matte box adapters that come with the kit and the rail mount Single pole support will only add to the support. But supporting the entire matte box on its own without a connection to the lens is a bit dicey. So SmallRig please make an adapter to use this matte box with my Sigma 14-24 DG DN e mount. This little mattebox is a thing of beauty. Lightweight and thoughtfully designed with precision. It doesn't do 15 different things like some of the Rube Goldberg contraptions out there. Very nice looking matte box and very lite weight. Like the design of the filter holder. Seems to be of great quality just like every other item I have from Smallrig. Picked up at the pre-sale price. I have not used with the dedicated rod support, using with lens support as it seems to be lite enough to just use attached with ring. I was wary of not having side flags but just rotate it to block light. The box it was shipped in is even good looking. Well done Smallrig. ... show more

Bought it for my Movi Pro package. I was going to buy a Bright Tangerine until I found this. $100 and does exactly what I need it to. Not as nice as a BT but it is also 1/4 of the price and still light weight enough to work for me.

    • Great matte box but doesn't fit 150mm filters?!
I bought this bc the mini Tilta mattebox (which I love) doesn't fit some of these huge Art lenses by Sigma. So I got this and it's better than Tilta in some ways. you can lock in a filter so it doesn't slide around at all. You can have 2 filters in it without them touching. But I bought a 150mm filter for a 20mm lens, and the arm that closes the matte box was no where close to being able to close. So I spent 15min cutting off the arm and using gaffer tape to close the opening. Then I taped the entire metal ring in the back bc light was leaking in. Easy fix, but still, you shouldn't have to do that. ... show more
