Not 100% sure where the issue on this lies, but I ended up receiving a left handle that was either incorrectly manufactured or accidentally left without having someone checking completely. I have a right handle and noticed on the left one that the pocket that the hex wrench would normally sit inside hadn't been milled. Additionally, the metal plate and screws had about 1/4 inch of play, which is obviously not acceptable if you are looking to have a stable handle. That being said, I requested a replacement and the new one looks/operates as you would expect. I imagine this is something that just didn't make it past the quality control check. ... show more

Product Update: So I had some problems with the first handle I received. You can read below for details. Smallrig has responded outstandingly and replaced the handle with a new one. I'm very happy to say that the new version has no objectionable smell. Smallrig has been a really great company to deal with. I highly recommend. Original Review: This literally smells like poo. I let my roommate have a whiff and he said "Cow Manure?" I've done a lot of wood finishing in my life and have yet to find something that smells like this. The handle seems comfortable enough and pretty well built. But my hands smell like crap after holding it for even a few minutes. I'm giving it some time to 'air' out. Then I'll have to see what can be done about the smell if it's still a problem. I love smallrig usually, but I'd hesitate before buying another wood product from them. ... show more

Great handle for the Red Komodo. Have used it for long shoots, even outdoors. Doesn’t cause sweaty hands and feels very sturdy. I do wish there was a start and stop button for video recording, but I know that would require a cable. Integrated Allen wrench is a nice touch!

Geat addition to a video rig. I have the Sony a9 w/ cage, and this handle ads a perfect grip. It feels really nice in hand and I love that it's adjustable. Only negatives I can say about this handle are: 1. the piece that fits the groove of my thumb feels a bit sharp. I need to sand that edge down a bit (personal pref). 2. The price. Smallrig has a great rep as being well made gear at a good price. This feels well made, but at clost to $100 it was a bit difficult to pull the trigger on getting. ... show more

Beautiful wood fits my average sized hand perfectly. ARRI rosette is perfect, sturdy and versatile. The only improvement I would make is to come out with a top handle like this! Take your time in selecting! For you, I've tried to take as many views of the Sony A7sii I have been fortunate to set up. I purposely left off the Feelworld T7 monitor, flat HDMI cable, Generay LED Light and RODE Videomic so you can really see the Smallrig set up. Add the Peak Cuff wrist strap. Excelsior! ... show more
