This is my third Small Rig bracket to buy for a camera. My first two were for Sony, this one was purchased for the Leica Q3. This is the grip that Leica should have built onto the camera. Love that the plate is ARCA compatible as well. Be aware, you will not be able to use this with Leica's leather case that was made for this cameraThis is not a limitation in my opinion as I previously ordered the Leica case and decided it was garbage. Get yourself a nice Peak Design bag to compliment your super cool Small Rig grip. Enjoy!

The Leica Q3 is by no means a compact camera in the historical sense. It is much easier to carry around than a Mirrorless inter-changeable lens camera but still is too big to pocket even in a coat. So the fact that this handgrip has such a large grip on the shutter side leaves me a little vexed. My hands are men's hands, not huge but not small. And I find the grip just a little too large and protrudes a bit too much. The Leica Q had no grip on the camera at all, though, so if you are one of those people who find the Q3 slippery, this grip might work well for you. Other than that, I find this grip filled with all the usual SmallGrip touches that are well planned. As usual, the battery door can be easily accessed through the grip without any problem. It does cover the lug for the strap but they provided space for the strap at the top of the grip. I find this a satisfactory. Of course the screw is in the right place and works well. I think mainly my issue is the grip, if you feel like the Q3 could really do with a grip, then this will probably work for you. If you value the slimness of the camera set-up then this grip will probably not work for you.

Tried a different grip first and it was too short. This grip comes all the way up on the front edge and provides ample grip for all my fingers. Much more secure feeling than the other grip I tried.

Overall I am super happy with this! This perfectly matches up to the ad even down to the measurements. I knew what to expect and I was expecting it to be very chunky which works well for me. Overall I feel like the quality could be improved a little bit so that's why it's only four stars. The quality Now isn't awful but I have a few different ones that are a little higher quality and I prefer that. This fit like a glove though and was exactly what I needed on my camera. I'm definitely happy with it overall and think that it is exactly as described in the ad so they are not trying to be secretive about the size or anything. Just be sure you go over everything to make sure it's a good fit for you. I think it's definitely worth the price and would just like them to improve the quality a little bit to make it a full five stars. Still a solid 8 out of 10

Love smallrig products including this one, but how does one attach a split ring camera strap to the left side? I think you can’t. Kinda impossible. Update: if you put a triangle ring, you can attach a round split ring. So it takes two attachments. It’s working for me—a bit inelegant, but i like the grip a lot, chunky.

As a longtime fan of SmallRig, I’m thrilled with this L-shape handgrip designed for the Leica Q3. It blends seamlessly with the camera’s design, matching the color and texture perfectly, so it feels like a natural extension rather than an add-on. I’ve always appreciated SmallRig’s attention to detail, and this grip is no exception. Just a heads-up, though—there’s no option for a customized nameplate if that’s something you’re looking for. Installation was super easy, thanks to the built-in flat wrench and the well-thought-out design. The silicone padding on the inside of the grip is a nice touch, ensuring that the camera body stays scratch-free. Once attached, the grip feels very secure, with no wiggle or play, which is exactly what I expect from SmallRig’s quality. The ergonomic silicone grip provides excellent support and comfort, making longer shoots much more manageable. I also love the versatility of this handgrip; the Arca-Swiss and Manfrotto mounting options are a great feature, and it has a strap hole if you prefer using a wrist strap, which is honestly how I tend to use my Leica. The components are strong and reliable, with titanium alloy for added durability. This grip has truly enhanced my handling of the Leica Q3.

I love the seamless look of this grip, it blends right in with the Q3. The amount of additional grip this provides is perfect. It also does add extra thickness making easier to establish a firmer grip. While it does add a bit of additional bulk, I still found it manageable.

This grip is very large and did not fit reviewer's smaller hands. Even people with larger hands said it felt very chunky for such a small camera. The grip is covered in a semi-soft material that does not match the leatherette on the camera body. Also, the color of the metal is grey instead of black - again, not matching anything on the camera. Access to the battery and card slot works well. There is an unfortunately-large 'SMALLRIG' badge on the front that is not removable and seems necessary for proper alignment as there are no alignment pins present. There is a magnetic panel that is removable on the side. Other than the fact that this panel seems to be a personalization plate, there is apparently no other purpose for this. We were disappointed to see that this grip does not have a socket for a Leica finger loop. Also, the grip seems large enough to easily contain an Apple AirTag, but sadly, the internal cavity is not large enough for this purpose. There are other grips for half the price that seem to do a better job.
