Features

  • Designed for Sony FX30 / FX3: The FX30 / FX3 handheld cage kit adopts modular design, including a top slider module and a U-shaped cage module. The top slider module is fixed by two 1/4"-20 screws, and can be compatible with the original XLR after disassembly; the U-shaped cage module is fixed by 1/4"-20 screws on both sides and the bottom, which is stable and does not deflect. The kit includes a cage, clamp for HDMI cable , XLR handle extension and wrist strap.
  • Multiple Mounting Points: The cage includes 1/4"-20 holes to attach Magic Arm 3873; the locating hole for ARRI can attach Top Handle 3765/2165C or Monitor Mount 2903B; the side NATO rail can attach Side Handle 3813; the 1/4-20 positioning holes on the upper left corner and left side can attach Rod Clamp 3598 for follow focus; two 1/4-20 holes on the side can attach quick release plate to prevent deflection when shooting vertically; built-in cold shoe can attach microphones, LED video lights.
  • Quick Release Plate for Arca: The QR plate at the bottom is compatible for DJI RS 2, RSC 2, RS 3, RS 3 Pro, quick release plate (height increase pad) and plate for Arca 3154. Holes for shoulder straps and wrist straps are reserved on both sides and bottom to attach Wrist Strap 3848, Shoulder Strap PSC2428. The bottom QD interface is compatible with QD shoulder straps. The built-in magnetic suction wrench at the bottom is convenient for disassembly and assembly.
  • Included Handle Extension, Wrist Strap and Cable Clamp: 1. The XLR handle extension adopts ergonomic design, which can extend the XLR handle by 30mm, which improves the grip feeling and increases the mounting points. 2. The wrist strap improves the stability of handheld shooting and prevents the device from slipping during handheld shooting. 3. Equipped with a dedicated clamp for HDMI cable to protect interface to ensure the signal stability during shooting.
  • Ergonomic design: The position of the battery compartment is designed with an opening and closing wrench, which fits the curve of the fuselage better, solves the problem of placing the little finger and improves the grip feeling. There are built-in protective gaskets on the contact surface with the camera body to prevent the camera from being scratched.
  • Note: 1. Due to the craftsmanship of manual grinding technology, this is normal situation while there are slight wear trace on the surface; 2. The spacing between the 1/4" holes on the top slider is 27mm, so it is not compatible with accessories with a spacing of 18mm. 3. When using the original XLR handle, please remove the top slider first.

SmallRig makes camera cages for pretty much any camera you can imagine. This time, it's for the Sony FX30 and FX3. Both cameras have the same external physical appearance, which is why the same cage can be used for both camera models. One thing I like is the wrist strap as it comes super handy (no pun intended) if you primarily shoot handheld. In addition to that, you also get the XLR handle extension rig so you can place other accessories. Personally, I'd place a field monitor on top. The Sony FX30 is a great camera but you need to protect your investment. SmallRig has a reputation for making high quality content creation accessories at a great price point. This is more of the same. The cage is very well made and functional, with multiple mounting points so you can attach whatever accessories you need.
