The media could not be loaded. It is probably the best cage for the nano except for 3 small things. 1. It doesn't work with the camera cover 2. It has trouble disconnecting the camera when it's got a mount on it (side mount for vertical video) 3. It's a "Small Rigg" cage and it has some trouble with "Small Rigg" mounts. Other than that its the coolest most versatile one.

I happen to be a bit of a "camera cage" fanboy. They bring an extra level of utility to your camera and open up a ton of mounting options all while providing an additional layer of protection against bumps and bruises. I cages on all of my mirrorless cameras but I did not think that my DJI Nano might benefit from a cage. This Half Cage option from Smallrig piqued my curiosity and I am glad that I choose this. First off it adds that layer of protection i spoke to earlier and then secondly, adds additional mounting points for handles, selfie sticks, action mounts and a cold shoe. Fitting the DJI Nano in the cage is a breeze, a latch opens the cage up for the Vision Dock and the camera just drops in from the open top of the cage and locks in place as it would without the cage. I think the Half Cage version of this set seems like the winning solution as it allows you to easily connect and remove the camera from the Vision Dock. The full cage might offer more protection but requires you to remove the entire camera/Vision Dock assembly from the cage to separate the two. For my purpose I pair this kit with a side handle on a DJI Action mount so I can quickly add the handle to stabilize my hand held shots a bit more when needed. I like the cage and appreciate that it allows me to use the DJI Nano as intended by allowing me to seperate camera and dock when needed. Smallrig is a leader in the camera cage market and this is yet another quality product from Smallrig.

The media could not be loaded. Cons: The Record button is partially obstructed by the cage. The top part of the half cage it feels awkward. Good: The rest of the ports and microphones are completely accessible. I think the cage works as intended if you accept this inconvenient. Made of metal

I got this cage primarily so I could mount my osmo nano vertically on my camera for vertical POV video. Keep in mind for you do that you do need to have the monitor mounted as well

Does not fit with the protective camera skin that comes with the camera, so you have to take that off for it to fit. I don't like having that off the camera, wish they had it where it fit with that on so you have max protection.

This is a useful cage that is obviously well made. I like it and expect to continue using it but there are some things I wish they had done differently. First and most important is that you cannot put the main camera in the cage with the DJI Nano protective case installed. Since this is included with the Nano it seems like a missed opportunity to be able the have double protection of that case and the cage plus the benefit of the cold shoe. The cage fits the vision dock well and latches securely. There are no magnets in the base to attach directly to a surface. The additional weight is possibly the reason for this but it's still disappointing. The product page shows a picture that makes it seem like the button on the vision dock is unobstructed but it is not, although I have no real trouble accessing the button it seems odd to show the vision dock installed with the button on the type C hatch side. I added a couple photos of the way it actually looks. I think there are several design issues here but the cage adds protection and the main camera is easily removed and the cage is easy to use. With a few design tweaks I think this would be the perfect cage for the Nano.
