The NATO Rail is secured on the top via two 1/4"-20 screws and can be removed to allow installing the original XLR top handle; the U-shaped cage is fixed via 1/4"-20 screws on both sides and at the bottom to prevent twisting, with a cushion against scratches.
- Full Access & Comfortable Grip: The FX3 / FX30 cage not affect the use of camera interface, dial, button and the replacement of battery. At the battery door there is a hinge arm that fits camera curve for improved grip experience for little finger.
- Multiple Mounting Points: The cage is built-in 1/4-20 threaded holes, 3/8-16 locating hole for ARRI, 1/4-20 locating holes, QD socket, strap slot, and can be expanded with accessories such as Magic Arm (ID: 3873), Top Handle (ID:3765), Rod Clamp (ID:3598), QD Shoulder Strap, Hand Strap (ID:3848), and Shoulder Strap (ID:PSC2428) for professional creation.

Like the title says, this cage is super important to all of the work I do. It makes rigging up my FX3 so much easier, and I've never run into an issue with it. I love the Nato rail on the side, its fits my side handle perfectly. I also really appreciate that the HDMI clamp is included, its a very delicate part of the camera so having the piece of mind that it wont be ripped out is well worth it. The only gripe I have is i notice that sometimes the screws can come loose after a full day of shooting. Luckily it has a tool that its held in with magnets that makes tightening things up on the fly super easy.

While the FX30 has many 1/4"-20 threaded holes and a metal frame, it is not convenient to mount many items, including monitors, transmitters, and rail attachments. Unlike cages with a single screw, this cage is attach at three points, base and left and right sides, eliminating any possible twisting. This SmallRig cage adds an angled cold shoe, and at least one 3/8"-16 threaded hole with Arri anti-rotation holes, Significantly, the bottom of the cage is beveled, and compatible with Arca type clamps, especially Really Right Stuff. I consider this cage an essential addition to an FX3 or FX30 camera.

This camera cage fit very well with my FX30. The build quality is topnotch as always. The top Nato rail is very well designed giving space to the multi-shoe functionality of the FX30 Once you put the cage on the camera you would not want to remove it after. It looks good, its functional and it adds weight to your setup that could help eliminate those micro jitters.
