Features

  • Continuous Power Supply: A dummy battery allows you to use the D-TAP plug-in to continuously power your camera from an external power supply. This means that you don't have to worry about changing the battery or the battery overheating and losing power because of recording for a longer time. However, it is necessary to pay attention to the fact that the dummy battery lasts for about 4 hours at a time, and then it will remind you that the battery level is too low, which is normal. You can restore the dummy battery to full charge by unplugging and restarting it.
  • Wide Compatibility: This dummy battery replaces for Sony NP-FZ100 and works for for Sony Alpha A7 III, A7 IV, A7S III, A7R III, A7R IV, A7R V, A7C, A7C II, A7CR, A1, A9, A9 II, A6600, A6700, FX3, FX30, ZV-E1, ZV-E10 II cameras.
  • Works Well With V Mount Battery: This dummy battery works well with most of V mount battery on the market with the D-TAP output. And we recommend using it with SmallRig V mount battery. SmallRig V mount battery has over-current and over-voltage protection, so don't worry about damaging your camera.
  • No Warning: Fully decoded battery, you don't have to worry about the warning pop-up that the battery will damage the camera, same size as the original camera battery, so there is no need to worry about it getting stuck.
  • Safe & Reliable: Overvoltage, overheating, and overcharge short-circuit protection alongside fire-resistant PVC and ABS make this item safe and reliable.
  • How to Use: 1Connect the dummy battery to V mount battery; 2Insert the powered dummy battery into the camera battery compartment correctly; 3Close the battery compartment cover. Please follow the installation steps when using. If the camera battery compartment is not closed, the dummy battery will not work normally.

  • Great buy
Size: NP-FZ100
Works exactly as needed.

  • Exact fit, works great
Size: LP-E6NH
Purchased this after a milky way timelapse got cut short by poor battery life from the 2 LP-E6NH batteries in my 5D4 battery grip gave out. I have since been able to shoot long timelapse sequences with this dummy battery connected to an external V battery with much higher capacity. The 5D4 has a small rubber seal that you will pull out of the way for the cord to fit. If using it in the battery grip tray, do not install it with another battery as you will receive an error. Otherwise, the camera accepts it just like any battery. This is a good purchase for anyone shooting long intervals, timelapse, or long video where battery failure is terminal to the shoot. (My motion control system is also powered by v batteries, so I already had those on hand.) ... show more

  • OMG!!! Sony A7IV Shooters....consider this!!
Size: NP-FZ100
I have been trying for years to get "THE" perfect and long lasting battery option for my Sony A7IV and I think...I hope, I have found a long lasting, non-harmful option by using thus Smallrig adapter. Worked (so far) flawlessly!! I connect a 100w Vmount battery to my sling camera strap and connect the adapter to both and it is AMAZING!!! ... show more

  • Great DTap for those needing constant power.
Size: LP-E6NH
Build Quality is average. Ran into an issue with the D-Tap cracking quickly, however this could've been with the quick swap environment we film in. No power issues. Does as advertised.

  • Great quality minus one thing
Size: LP-E6NH
**Update. After leaving the previous review, SmallRig offered a full refund on the product. I have been a SmallRig user for a good while and fully support the products they make. Sadly it was something small in the design that made my setup not functional or make sense to use this setup. Not being able to spin the d tap plug is a bit frustrating. The direction the cable sticks out while being plugged in makes this not useable unfortunately. Previous d tap setups, I’ve been able to unscrew the end and flip it so the cable comes out the other direction if that makes sense. ... show more

  • Explosion Warning!
Size: LP-E6NH
The media could not be loaded. Flew out to Vegas to film for a production. I brought my Canon R5C for filming. I was setting up my rig with the smallrig dtap and ZGcine v160 battery. I placed the dummy in my camera and plugged into the battery, immediately a loud pop and smoke coming from the battery compartment. My heart stopped. Pulled the battery as quickly as possible from the camera. Luckily I had backup options and luckily after power cycling a few times my camera turned on again. I had only used this adapter a 1-2 other times so disappointed as I generally like smallrig products. I am not sure if I would ever trust this product again for critical work. Buyer beware use at your own risk! This could have cost me 5k plus if the camera alone was damaged and the production would have been a flop... Opened it up when I got home because I could hear rattling inside, as you can see the capacitor completely exploded inside. Maybe they are using faulty or cheap capacitors but just a heads up to anyone looking into this unit. ... show more
