  • I get 2 of these because of my fx3
Size: 11 inches
The SMALLRIG Articulating Rosette Arm Max is a must-have for anyone serious about videography or photography. Its robust build quality and versatile design make it a standout accessory in my kit. Whether I'm mounting a monitor, light, or microphone, this arm delivers smooth articulation and precise positioning thanks to its rosette joints. The ability to lock each joint firmly in place ensures stability during shoots, even when handling heavier equipment. Setup is straightforward, and the build feels durable yet lightweight, ideal for both studio and on-location work. If you're looking for a reliable articulating arm that offers flexibility and durability, look no further than the SMALLRIG Articulating Rosette Arm Max. ... show more

  • Quite Strong with some caveats...
Size: 11 inches
The media could not be loaded. Hey Everyone, I am taking a look at the Smallrig articulating Rosette arm, this one is 11” in length but they do make one with 7” version as well. Looking at the construction of the arm, everything is made up of aluminum or metal including the main rosette teeth joint as well as a ball joints at the end. The only place where you will find plastic is the main controller knob and the attachments on the ends, and these are by the way one of the weaker points of this arm, I will talk about that in a moment. If you have never used any of magic articulating arm, the way it works is, when you lose this know in the middle, the whole assembly including the ball joints gets free and then you should be able to adjust it the way you want it. And once you are done, you can tighten it back and it will stay in place very firmly. This arm has rosette teeth joint in the middle, so, this is the strongest joint of the whole arm. The maximum weight capacity according to smallrig for this arm is 3 kg(i.e. About 6 lbs) while optimum recommended weight to be use is about 1.5-2 kg( i.e about 2 to 4 and half lbs). Now, let’s look at both the ends. The ends have ball joints with ¼” 20 thread male screws. It also comes with camera hot shoe adapter which in my opinion is not really useful. If you are planning to use this on your camera hot shoe adapter, I would not recommend because you are likely to put more weight on this and it will also disrupt the balance of your camera as a whole. Instead this are rather to be used with some kind of cage that is already on the camera. Another reason, I wont recommond using this is because, even I have the smallrig cage which has hot shoe adapter, on top of that I’ve this Nato handle and hot shoe adapter that I bough separately, this adapter fits none of them perfectly. There is a slight space left in between them and after some light usage it just slides out which makes it useless. I have this 7” montior with couple of NP-f Battery mounted and as you can see it holds up well, if you are going to keep you camera stationary but if you are going to move your camera time to time, the ¼” joints are very difficult to use. I have tried and retried and the joint at the end where it connects to cage starts to move after some time of shooting and yes you can use gravity so that it will tighten it more as it presses down but as soon as you change angle or try to tilt your camera, your monitor will just fall. Also, over the time and its really just a month but the ball joints are not holding up as good as it is before and as you can see this knob is tighten all way and I can move them even with some pressure applied. But, beside this issue, if you are going to use this arm in a stationary position like on a tripod without much tilting or panning, it is quite strong and should not create any issue. ... show more

  • Using for video recording to get continuous light high over lens so people do not squint
Size: 11 inches
9/22/2023: Loving this articulating arm, using it with a ThinkWare Snap-G 4K Gimbal camera (with gimbal camera and articulating arm attached to a flat bracket) and Sony Camcorder (which has a cold shoe) to get a small continuous light 11 inches higher (tilted slightly down) so the light is above the lens and people are not squinting due to the light being in their eyes due to shorter solutions placing the light near the lens. This is like using a flash bracket for a still image camera (DLSR or film), to get the light in a better position. The Articulating arm seems very sturdy. At first, I could not figure out how to loosen the ball joints at each end since there was no turn knob present on the ball joints. However, loosening the large knob in the center of the arm loosens not only the geared center-joint, but also both socket ball joints at each end. Once you have everything lined up, tighten the knob and all three pivot points become locked (center and each ball joint). ... show more

  • Versatile and robust
Size: 11 inches
This item is extremely versatile and, for the price, robust. If you are professional, you might need something even more solid, but for hobby use and amateurs, this is really all you need. If you treat it with normal care it will loast.

  • Works great!
Size: 11 inches
I use this to mount my projector to my headboard! Needed something sturdy that could hold the weight of it, and this works great! My projector plugs are in the back, so I needed something to adjust forward to fit the cords and my Roku stick. Mounts that fit my criteria of weight capacity and adjustability were more pricey than I wanted to spend, but this was an affordable solution! ... show more

  • Well made and very functional!!
Size: 11 inches
When you first unwrap this, you can feel the weight and quality of construction. But does a heavy articulating arm make a quality product? In this case, it does. I have to admit, it took me a while to figure out how it worked. I had the help of a 9 year old boy who first used them like two robot legs walking around. He tightened up the knob and showed that not only did it stop the middle from moving (with the help of the gears), but the ball and socket ends also froze in place. Neat trick. I use this with a SpyderLink camera mount to film my daughter's travel team softball games. It allows me to get my iphone flush up against the chainlink fence so I don't see wires on either sides of the lens. Now, all we see is nothing but softball. An excellent addition to any photographers grab bag. ... show more

  • "Doesn't hold weight" reviews = User Error
Size: 11 inches
Center toothed pivot joint must be tightened to lock the ball ends in place. Center joint is locked by interlocking teeth and ball ends are locked in place by friction from a rod in the center of the arm tubes that pushes against the ball ends. These reviewers are loosening the center joint, then complaining the ball ends are too floppy. Just tighten the center joint and make sure the ball ends are 100% tightly screwed into shoe or extension or mounting bracket. Overall build quality is mid, but good for $15. I'd stay under 2kg at all times, if you need more weight, buy an expensive arm (unless the thing on the arm isn't very valuable). I'd blue loctite the threads for extra peace of mind. ... show more
